Rahm Emanuel's SNL 'apology'

White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel has politely atoned for calling progressive lawmakers "f---ing retarded." But on "Saturday Night Live" this weekend, comedian Andy Samberg gave a more spirited -- and vulgar -- apology. Acting the part of the notoriously blunt Emanuel, he attacked liberals for going to the press with complaints about the White House, and Sarah Palin for hitting him on his politically incorrect statement about liberals:

"You come after me on Facebook? What, are you -- fourteen? Here's a status update: Grow the [blank] up! Poke me again, and I will write [blank] on your wall so obscene your computer will cry. Go back to the tundra, you [blanking] gimmick!" Samberg said to Palin in the heavily edited-for-obscenity segment.

"In conclusion," Samberg as Emanuel said, "boo [blanking] hoo. Get over it."

That's the most hilarious skit on SNL in ages.

con962, nice try defending your hero Limpbaugh, but you're the one who's not getting it. Maybe if you weren't so busy kissing the feet of your hero you might be able to see this for what it is, too: a double standard by a shameless political opportunist named Sarah Palin.

Rush was defending the use of the r-word, period. He has used it numerous times, including against the head of the Special Olympics. Does "retard summit" ring a bell?

He's said a lot worse throughout his career, too. The ignoarant Repugs laugh it off as "entertainment" not realizing that makes them look even worse.

I can guarantee you if Limpbaugh went after any of their daughters the way he did young Chelsea Clinton, they would not be laughing.

Of course they would apologize within 48 hours for fear of incurring the wrath of Rushbots, and guarantee him a headlining slot and million dollar paycheck at their next convention.

Rush gets a "get out of jail free" - you people just don't get it. Let me explain it. It is HUMOR. It is ENTERTAINMENT. Rush was MAKING FUN OF EMANUEL for using THAT WORD on his OWN PARTY... and also adding that he felt it was hilarious (and so do the rest of "us") that Emanuel was called out for using the "R-word" and not the "F-word" when he called them what he called them....get it now? I didn't think so....

Excellent, fair and balanced.
Bravo SNL writers.

True on the part about Palin, it is nice to see a Democrat demand an apology instead of the party of professional victims...

Those guys would position winning the lottery as a plot to make them pay more taxes.

This was the funniest skit I have seen on SNL in a long time. Loved the Sarah Palin rant. Too true.

It's a shame that Rahm has to apologize when Rush get a "get out of jail free" card...

All these double standards really make me sick...
