But wait! One more health-care rally to come from Obama

By Michael D. Shear
President Obama will give hold a final, pre-vote rally for health care in Fairfax County, Virginia on Friday, White House officials announced today.

The rally, to be held at George Mason University's Patriot Center auditorium, will begin at 11:30 a.m. and is open to the public, officials said.

Officials described the event as one in which Obama would make remarks about health care. The House of Representatives is scheduled to take up the final votes on health care late Friday or early Saturday.

The capacity of the Patriot Center is 10,000 people.

What a shame, my father always cited the Post as one of the truely prestigious newspaper's in america. Read the Times, read the Post, he would always criticize if he ever caught me reading other papers. Maybe that was the case in the past but, after reading some of these posts by jihadi tea bagger's, who besides their 5 second fx news sound bite always lack a relevant arguement I have to wonder, who is the Post target audience.

Any chance the WH allows the audience to reflect the actual demographic of conservative GMU? Doubtful. The WH has perfected the art of busing in supporters for these rallies (on taxpayers' dimes).

We've been discussing the details of the garbage legislation for over a year...BTW Pelosi still doesn't have the REAL BILL - the "reconciliation" bill - available to anyone. And that's the problem - the Democrats keep the information from the public - then expect us to support the their off-hand legislation - with a dismissive wave of her hand. THAT'S THE PROBLEM. Screw her. Screw Democrats that support the substance and the process.

CALL YOU DEMOCRATIC SENATOR AND REPRESENTATIVE AND TELL THEM TO VOTE "NO" on this fiscally-irresponsible and corrupt legislation.
Find your representative: http://www.votesmart.org/
Find your senator: http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm
CALL NOW! VOTING WILL HAPPEN QUICKLY!

Reviewing the above posts, I see only a handful of reasoned, thought-out arguments citing real stats and facts. I see mostly gratuitous name-calling, glittering negative generalities, and some just pure frothing at the mouth like a mad dog. If this is what passes for political discourse in this country, we are indeed in serious trouble.
Whether you like the healthcare bill or dislike it, be prepared to demonstrate some substantive grasp of the issues.

Let's see what Tim Cahill, Mass TREASURER has to say about THEIR State run health care system, and what it has done to the Mass economy:

BOSTON — Unenrolled gubernatorial candidate Treasurer Timothy Cahill predicted Tuesday the country would go bankrupt within four years if President Obama and Congress follow the Massachusetts health care model, warning against dramatic access expansion and suggesting the state curb publicly subsidized benefits.

Summoning reporters into his capitol office as he lined up with national Republicans as Congress nears a vote on a health care bill, Cahill said the state’s 2006 health care expansion has wreaked havoc with the state budget and blamed Gov. Deval Patrick for "very little if any oversight."

Pointing to numbers that show spending on Medicaid and health care reform has boomed from $6.3 billion to 10.4 billion between fiscal 2005 and projected fiscal 2010 figures, Cahill said, "It makes it very clear why we're going broke in this state."

Patrick aides mobilized quickly to question Cahill’s numbers and defend Patrick’s performance and the program. Patrick spokesman Juan Martinez, in a statement, said Patrick had exhibited “strong management” of health care reform that has led to Massachusetts leading the nation with over 97 percent of residents insured.

Jumping into the Washington debate, Cahill said, “If the federal government does what Massachusetts has done, I don’t know who’s going to pay for it, except the taxpayers or we’re going to have to borrow money from China, as we’ve been doing.”

Cahill said the Commonwealth Health Insurance Connector Authority had "failed," and said the state should do more to promote competition among insurers. He said the state should "absolutely" consider reducing coverage packages and said he supported changing the state's "fee-for-service" payment model.

Cahill’s public denunciation of the state’s showpiece health care law establishes him as the highest-ranking state official to side so firmly against it. Bay State Republicans, while publicly questioning the program’s cost, have been loath to break with a law they helped pass, and which then-Gov. Mitt Romney signed with fanfare.

WE'RE NOT CLONES!! WE DON'T LIVE CLONED LIVES!! WE DON'T HAVE CLONED CIRCUMSTANCES!! AND WE SHOULD NOT HAVE CLONED HEALTH INSURANCE!!

Oops, sorry for the caps. Just looked up and saw them and corrected.

We're NOT a collective society; we're an individualist society in a collective body of people from different ethnicities, cultures, races, beliefs, and values. There should NOT be cookie-cutter health insurance.

We The People are NOT STEPFORD CITIZENS,, and we will NOT be treated as such. There are people who are willing to work to get theirs, instead of waiting like whelping pups for handouts from the government!!!!!

Those that want to be controlled by the government, then give it to the pups. But leave the rest of the GRWON FOLK alone to hadnle their OWN AFFAIRS!! Just regulate the insurance companies like you're supposed to. Oh. Wait- you can't do that, can you?

Obama's own cousin who is a Doc said that Obama care is very bad for America, and that the bill should not pass as it is. I bet he won't be getting any more invitations to the Marxist House for din din anymore, LOL. Of COURSE ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, MSNBC, and the other Marxist House drones didn't capture this story.

But you can, right here:

http://www.hyscience.com/archives/2010/03/obamas_doctor_c.php

ALSO- The New England Journal of Medicine has a Poll from Doctors (REAL Docs who care, not the Obamabound AMA freaks) and "nearly 1/3 of doctors might leave the field if Obama care passes. Amazing that the aforementioned news sources didn't report THIS EITHER!!

But you can read it here:

http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/62812

AND here:

The study also shows how badly Obamacare supporters have lost the debate among physicians (closely tracking the popular numbers):

Physician Support of Health Reform in General

• 62.7% of physicians feel that health reform is needed but should be implemented in a more targeted, gradual way, as opposed to the sweeping overhaul that is in legislation.

• 28.7% of physicians are in favor of a public option.

• 3.6% of physicians prefer the “status quo” and feel that the U.S. health care system is best “as is.

I find it very interesting, that Obama, Pelosi & Reid...claim this Healthcare Bill will be good for ALL AMERICANS! Then, if this bill is so great...why does it exempt themselves from this wonderful plan? They want to take away Millions of Dollars away from Medicare, which they claim is an entitlement. How can this be an entitlement, when out of every paycheck I had deleted from my earings Social Security and Medicare, which I like it or not.
If there is fraud an abuse in the Medicare & Medicaid .... then why do they not fix this!
We do not need Big Government anymore in our Healthcare issues....they can't handle what they already have enacted!
KILL THE BILL.....it is not for ALL AMERICANS! It is just another move to take our FREEDOMS AWAY!
Do these DEMS really think we Americans are so stupid to not know what they are trying to do to this country! I do not believe in any form of Socialism...but this is exactly what it is!

Pass the damn bill! To hell with the greedy, selfish, right wing fascist, war monger torture aficionados. If the theocratic, Republican, Glen Beck loving, climate change denier ditto heads, have their way, the U.S will continue to be 17th, or worse, in quality of health care among industrialized nations. Only the rich can afford health care under our present system. Slam the bill through NOW!

Bravo!! Very well said 1977cyn!!

This is very sad to read the comments on here. I have one question to ask. Where were all the patriots crying about the country going to hell when Bush was intruding in our privacy. When the well to do were getting the tax cuts that was not need. Keep in mind i am one of those people that benefited from the Bush tax cuts. Where were the outraged when we were sending our young men and women to die in a foreign land that did nothing to us? Where was the media? where was fox news? Now you are awake, you were sleeping for the past 8years? Think before you answer these questions and answer them honestly. This Health Care is about HUMAN BEINGS, it is about those who are working hard everyday trying to survive and with not fault of their own cannot afford the bills. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE POOR. HALF OF YOU ON THIS WEBSITE ARE ON MEDCAIRE AND MEDCAID, WHO DO YOU THINK IS PAYING FOR THAT? Do you remember when those debates were going on? Republicans screamed bloody murder but now they are for it. Republicans have no interest in your well being then want to get back into power now think about that before you saying stupid things on the internet, now wonder foreign countries hate us, it has nothing do with our freedom it has to do with how stupid we look.

If President Obama, along with his cabinet and the 535 members of the Congress and Senate would attend a summit with the leaders / CEOs of the major Insurance Companies and Banking Industry on an island in the Pacific, and we could test just one more hydrogen bomb...

When Obama lectures that we need to "have courage" he means us, not him - he'll be leaving town when the vote's over.
When Obama says Congressmen need to vote for the 'health care' bill even if it means losing their job, he means them - he's not running in 2010.
And when Obama says the time for talking is over, he wants his opposition to shut up, so he can have the stage all to himself.
He and the Dems act manic over all this.

IMPEACH Obama and his comrades! They are trampling on our Constitution, destroying our health care, our economy, our future, and our country, and forcing socialism/Marxism on us through scams like Obamacare and cap and trade.

The sooner we IMPEACH Obama and his comrades the easier it will be for us to protect and restore our country, our freedoms, our prosperity and our future.

It is a shame that this president represents so many good people
But doesnt care to listen to them

Why people Voted Obama in
Making gov more transparent was a promise
or waiting on a bill so the public can view it or even saying something as Important as health care reform will need to be bi-partisan

What you say to get into Gov you should be held accountable for

That should be a law

Nobama Care

He would have single payer if he could get away with it and may yet. You big brother lovers need to think before you speak. I guess that's hard when the stte doesyour thinking for you though.

If Obama were in favor of nanny state, he would have the single payer system and a very high tax rate. Please think about what you are saying, sir, instead of simply repeating talking points from the propaganda machine. This country (that includes you) is better off today because of Obama.

Obama is a corrupt Chicago Affirmative Action product who believes, with Karl Marx, "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need". We don't need his nanny state and if he shoves it down our throats, we'll shove him back to the most corrupt state in the Union.

How much does the Administration pay these people to be bused in to cheer his lies. Just like yesterdays rally when he had a protester removed and then told the crowd that he had fainted. So I am sure the media will slobber over their man one more time. Hey, tell them Bush did it.

For 10 years, Hugo Chavez bribed and arm twisted the members of the Venezuelan Congress to set himself us as a dictatorial despot. Does this remind you of anyone that we know?

Yet another rally to try and convince the American people that a takeover of health care is a good thing. And yet, he will continue to fail, because the people see through it.

Anyone who goes along with the "Slaughter" solution should be removed from office because they are violating their duties as represenatives by completely ignoring the Constitution.
