'Kill the bill!' shouts protester from House gallery (Video)

Associated Press

A Democratic lawmaker says a protester stood up in the House gallery, yelled "Kill the bill" and was cheered by Republicans.

Angry demonstrators opposed to the health care bill gathered outside the Capitol on Sunday. Democratic Rep. Barney Frank of Massachusetts says that one stood up in the House gallery and shouted, "Kill the bill. The people don't want this."

As the man was yelling and ushers tried to escort him out, several Republicans stood up on the House floor and cheered.

Said Frank: "I've never seen this - for the Republicans to stand up and cheer the guy on." Frank called the Republicans "clowns."

The cheering could be heard from outside the chamber.

Obamacare is not about reforming the health care system. It is not about government funding for abortion. It is not about equality, or lowering costs. It is ALL about abrogation of the Constitution, and the destruction of the American economy. Obama, and his gang of anarchists, communists, socialists, tax cheats, and thugs want to turn our democratic republic into a communist banana republic. The bill adds two TRILLION dollars to our already staggering national debt. Obama will soon bankrupt the country, and force us into accepting a global currency. The bill means the loss of our Constitutional freedoms and protections. All the rhetoric is just red herring to cover up the overthrow of our government. THAT'S WHY THE PEOPLE ARE ANGRY! Obama's gang of thugs is hoping for, and perhaps instigating, social unrest, such as the riots Greece is facing.
That's why they attack the Teaparty so venomously. Those attacks on the teaparty are a prelude to a declaration of martial law, which will serve to suspend all political dissidence, and the elections in November. Without suspending the elections, the bill is sure to be repealed. Obama and his gang of thugs knows that, and, as Nasty Pelosi has stated,"WILL DO EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING NECESSARY" to get their way.

To:To the congress of the United States, House of Representatives.

Your behavior over this healthcare vote is absolutely abhorrent. The dishonesty you have displayed in the last few weeks has made me ashamed of your behavior. Michele Obama once said, "That for the first time in her adult life she was proud to be an American." I say, "For the first time in my 80rs years of life I am ashamed to be an American."

I would not be able to explain to anyone the lying, cheating, conniving, actual accepting of bribes for their votes, tantamount to stealing, that is going on in the halls of the congress that I once respected.

It breaks my heart to see this behavior of men who think more of their jobs in office than they do of working in the most honest way possible for the American citizens. It begs the question: Why vote? Is all lost? Have the members of congress become so jaded that they can no longer serve the best interests of the people, but only the best interests of themselves? Do the members not feel any sense of embarrassment at their votes having been so easily purchased.

This is not the America I was born in. This is no longer the land of the free, but instead the land of the free vote. Yes, they give freely of their vote for whatever they might receive in return.

Some news analyst suggested that if they don't vote for health care that the Presidency it lost. Rather lose one Presidency than the whole of what America has stood for for over two hundred years. Why even Rome lasted longer than that before it fell.

How dare this man come into office and want to rebuild America from the Ground up. And how stupid are these congressional sheep that they wish to equate themselves with the man who sold out for 30 pieces of silver. Judas betrayed Christ; they have betrayed America. How can they look at themselves in the mirror.

They may say it's only politics, but have they once thought of the legacy they have possibly passed on to their children and grandchildren. Have they once thought of the jeopardy in which they have placed their immortal souls.

They are doing the bidding of a woman who has said she has been "whipping all her life". She sounds sick when she says it, and they are sicker for succumbing to it. She has even commented that this is only the beginning; there is more to come.

I no longer have respect for them or her; there is no word to describe the disgust if feel for what they have become, but the Days of Reckoning will come this November, the next, and the next after that.

Be patient America, but keep a long, a very long memory of what they have done.

God Bless America and God Help America because only in God can we put our Trust, certainly not in the Congress of the United States.

Does anyone believe the veracity of these tea party clowns? This is nothing more than insurance money inciting chronicly angry, ignorant white people to tilt blindly at a windmill that exists solely in their own imagination.

I am appalled. When will the Democrats STOP pandering to the radical right? Why shouldn't Federal Funds be used for abortion? Abortion is STILL A LEGAL MEDICAL PROCEDURE! If men could become pregnant abortion would be a sacrament. Or if no one knew which person would become pregnant, the man or the woman, abortion would certainly not be an issue here. Federal Funds WOULD pay for this procedure!!!

I'm 63, voted in every election and have never seen such unprofessional behavior as I have with the repubs over the health care debate. If I had acted like that at work, I would have been fired. Why do we put up with it from them?

What gets me about the people that servant119b seems to be is this:

They call Obama a Fascist, a Nazi, a Muslim, or a Communist. It's obvious that they don't know the political spectrum, or are so poorly educated that they just don't know any better.

Jon Stewart had a great piece about this this week on his show. I found it hilarious.

For Republicans to encourage an outburst in the House gallery is inexcusable - and whoever cheered, when it is proved, should be reprimanded and ousted. That not a single Republican lawmaker anywhere in the country seems not to care about the uninsured and underinsured in their districts is bad enough, but to promote hooliganism in the halls of Congress is an unprecedented outrage and reminds one of the disruptive actions of the Bolsheviks in 1917 Russia. 'Patriotism' indeed!
