Md. Democrats trumpet omission from GOP target list
Maryland Democrats are crowing about the state's omission from a list of 2010 targeted races in a Republican National Committee fundraising document that surfaced in recent days.
Neither Maryland's race for governor or a U.S. Senate seat made the cut in the PowerPoint presentation assembled for potential campaign donors and fundraisers that was left at a Florida hotel where the Republicans had gathered Feb. 18.
The document lists 16 "gubernatorial targets." Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley (D) is not among them. Nor is Sen. Barbara Mikulski of Maryland listed as either a "targeted" or "wild card" senator.
