Michelle Obama announces trip to Mexico
Michelle Obama will travel to Mexico City in April in her first solo official trip as first lady, the White House announced.
Obama will build on a late February meeting with Mexican First Lady Margarita Zavala de Calderon "on the issues of education and economic advancement in both countries," the White House said. Obama will travel from April 13-15.
Last summer, the first lady spent some time in Paris without her husband in an unofficial capacity, touring with first daughters Malia and Sasha.
