Obama on 'Today' talks Afghanistan, health care, 'tea party' skeptics

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

By the Associated Press
WASHINGTON - President Obama says Afghan's President Hamid Karzai has made progress in cleaning up corruption "but there's a long way to go."

In an interview broadcast Tuesday, Obama tells NBC's "Today" show he chose not to visit Afghanistan at the time he announced a troop surge last year because elections were under way and he didn't want to be seen as "parachuting in and changing the outcomes there." He said he visited Sunday because he wanted to show support for troops.

Obama said of Karzai: "I think he's listening, but I think the progress is too slow. What we are trying to emphasize is the fierce urgency of now." He said Karzai "made important steps" to improve life for Afghans but that we "can't dilly-dally around."

Turning to the topic of the Tea Party, Obama said he believes the movement is built around a "core group" of people who question whether he is a U.S. citizen and believe he is a socialist.

But beyond that, Obama told Lauer he recognizes that the movement involves "folks who have legitimate concerns" about the national debt and whether the government is taking on too many difficult issues simultaneously.

Obama said he feels "there's still going to be a group at their core that question my legitimacy." But he said he didn't want to paint Tea Party activists "in broad brushes" and he hopes to win over members who have "mainstream, legitimate concerns."

Typical liberal rheteoric. "I agree with some of what they say, and I WILL listen to their ideas, but I think that they are sincerely wrong."

WAKE UP AMERICA, WE'RE BEING PLAYED BY BOTH SIDES, BUT ESPECIALLY BY DEMOCRATS WHO ARE NOW IN POWER, AND WHO BLATENTLY DISRESPECT US!

WE'LL REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!!!

You all treat this like a game. Point your fingers here and there looking for somebody to blame. Then all that is said is, "we won you lost." Really? Is that how our country is looked at, like it's a damn football game? I'm only 20 years old and I see through all the crap that's fed to the people of this country, but all you folks can't seem to find your way out of the fog. Nobody won, we all lost. We're fighting amongst ourselves and not for our country. The more distance that is put between the democrats and republicans only means more hostility between the people and less concern about how far off course this country is. I didn't really care for Bush and don't really care for Obama. But at least i''m still trying to think of ways to get this country turned around and not arguing over who's right and who isn't. Are we really going to be so caught up in the politics side of everything or actually put some effort into the governing part in government. All I'm saying is no matter your political stance your neighbor is your neighbor and the man you should be taking your concerns/aggression out on is sitting comfy with a big grin on his face thanking you for the $400,000 he just got for tearing the people of this country apart for the last four years. Don't complain, act. Run for mayor, hell that's what I'm doing. Bring the people together and show them they are getting played. But also show what can be done to try and repair the damage that has been done over these many years. The more people know the more they can do to correct things. Because seeing how the federal government has more power then the states do, you can't deny it. And if you do all your doing is feeding the problem and being ignorant to the things this country was built on.

Most of the country see the tea party group differently than you that belong to this group. Most of us cannot fully understand where you are coming from. Most of us feel badly for you as you seem to be consumed with hate and a belief that if all people would be like you it would be a better place. You see yourselves as moral, however most of you support and praise big business which is far from moral. Most of you are republicans and you all feel that denying insurance coverage for adults and children and letting them go without insurance and medical care is just fine. Letting them die or sleep in the streets is just fine and that it is moral and ok with god to hate people of color, anyone that is differant then you, hate all races except white anglo saxon protescents, and of course the gays. The gays could be your heart surgion, parent, uncle, aunt, sister, brother, sargent, fireman, police officers, accountant, nurse, and so on. Just people that are differant, they are differant because god made them differant, like god made people of differant colors and races.

If you bible thumpers want to really have fun with the bible, find one from the early 1600's or so and read the language, interpreted by man and put into English. It reads so differant from the motel version, King James, just about everyone has. You will have a REALITY CHECK I am sure. I did.

Starting with.. "In the beginning the "gods" came to earth".

Obama and the Socialists have shown they are no different than socialists in any other country. Give them control and they will bankrupt your country. They are spend thrift hot check writers the world over. Americans have really been had by this guy who did not grow up in America and it really shows. Get them out of there as soon as possible and just hope we have a country left!

Obama is so full of feces I can smell him all the way out here in Honolulu.

Was he born in U.S.? A: Maybe, but he's not released the original b/c and he could release it if he wished. (Those of you he think otherwise have been conned.)

Is he a socialist? A: He's a Marxist. All it takes to confirm is an hour or two looking at what history we have from his speeches and writings. Easy stuff... but I know it's hard for those who he's kept aroused (permanent Cialis?) to doubt this con-man.

But the "nads" on this guy! He likes to highlight two seminal issues regarding his eligibility and his governmental philosophies and then scoffs at those who've asked entirely reasonable questions and/or have drawn entirely reasonable conclusions. And in doing so better cons those who aren't aware that big lies told loudly and repeatedly usually better than small lies told only occasionally.

But regardless of where he was born, he's at best a far-left, redistributionalist profligate spender of federal dollars that we don't have. To wit from a source I can't name high up in medical care in MA: Data will soon come out of Romneycare in MA that will suggest the cost of Obamacare has been underestimated by 50% -- not even counting the coming $200B Medicare fix (that wasn't counted in the CBO scoring as an expense). Ooops!

What a joke this clown is... surpassed only by those who can't see that they were conned by a pro -- abetted by a lazy and leftist lamestream media.

Oh yeah, and 0's black. So what?

No matter what political adversary you may choose, the root problem in this nation is not political....it is the proliferation of sin throughout this society. We have lost our moral bearings, electing leaders who decieve us, wilfully manipulate us, and serve the desires of their own bellies and not the public good.

It is WE the PEOPLE who have cast off the moral values of our forefathers. We legislate immorality. We legitmize that which was abhorent to our founding fathers. We cry out demanding seperation of Church and State in ignorance, not even understanding what this means to us as a society.

We legislate God out of every part of our government, through moral ignorance. Our Declaration of Independence and the U S Constitution did not demand or even advocate this practice.

It did in fact prohibit government from infringing upon the rights of every man to serve God in the religion of his choosing. But in our ignorance, we have now cast God out of the affairs of men, thereby breeding the contemptuous attitude that we no longer need God's guidance or support.

The open practice and legitmizing of homosexuality is not only tolerated, but embraced by our government and in our public schools where the young minds of our children are molded and shaped. The decadent and beastial slaughter of the innocent through abortion, because mothers are lovers of self more than of their own children.

We have become a nation of fornicators, adulterers, liars, thieves, worshipers more of self than of God, hypocrits, like fatherless children who revel in love of self, having attained knowledge we have cast off wisdom. Woe be unto this wicked and adulterous generation!

Repent and turn your whole hearts back unto the Lord God who made you, who formed you in the womb of your mother, and who loves you more than a mother or father, more than a sister or brother. Ye are a backslidden nation, and if God spared not the angels who sinned against HIM, casting them down to the depths of hell, how reason you that you shall esccape His fiery wrath?

I have found that the "BOGOTS" always play the "RACE" card in an effort to firm up their own errant political philosophies. If you would stop breeding your contemptuous racial anthems, perhaps others would stop calling you a "RACIAL BIGOT".

My issues with President Obama are not rooted in the pigmentation of his skin.

He is NOT the anti-Christ, but he most assuredly endorses many of the values and beliefs of one who has the "spirit" of the anti-Christ, i.e., further enlarging the size and tentackles of BIG GOVERNMENT with all the related controls and further restriction of individual liberties, which will allow his giant beastie to function untethered by the voices of the masses.

His unfailing vigorous support of the abortion mills of this nation are duely noted. Again demonstrating a closer adherence to those spiritual values which will be found in the true anti-christ. His utter contempt for the value of human life, or is that just the lives of babies? Who will speak for them Mr. Obamanation?

NO! Obamanation is not the anti-Christ! But many of his political views certainly reveal the picture of a man who walks in the same "spirit".

One highly objectionable issue with regards to the "Bail Out" and the Obama "Health Care Law" has to do with simple economics. WHO WILL PAY FOR THIS FIASCO? Look in the mirror and you will have the answer to this question. Look at your children, if you have been so blessed of God to have any. They too will bear the burden, right along with their children, if the Lord tarries.

It appears to me that you are so blind to your own racial prejudices that you are still fighting over the issue of slavery, which has long ago been cast off from this present society. Are we all to be held accountable even unto the end of days for the sins of some of our forefathers? Or can we, as a society, yell down and scorn those illiterate and arrogant souls who are naiive enough to think that the pigmentation of their skin makes them somehow superior to all other races?

I want some of whatever sandy5274 is smokin. Just to clarify a resounding fact that somewhere between 48% and 55% of the people polled are unhappy with Obamacare. There are two distinct reasons. The first, even though it will benefit themselves and other members are the Tea Party crowd. But these folks will be against anything President Obama signs into law. While the second, from a different perspective feel that Obama care does not go far enough. These folks want a Single Payer system that would eliminate Insurance companies and stop them from killing people. So while the polls are accurate they don't tell the complete story.

The Tea Party movement is infested with Taliban like extremists. They might not be the majority, but there are enough of them to poison the entire bunch.

This is a repeat of the our policy in Afghanistan in the 80's. Create a hyper religious monster to do your bidding by appealing to the lowest common denominator. Cheer as they march obediently to your orders. Run as fast as you can when they turn to bite your hand.

The RNC is in big trouble by stirring the populist pot and having no interest in governing with the middle class in mind. This will undo them.

Is this cowardice or conscience?
Like the christian militia in Michigan, if they believe what they espouse about our government and our duly elected President, then one would think that a nice, tidy uprising would be in order.
Reality must not be as bad as they would like to believe.

I agree.....

"The president's comment about the nature of the Tea Party is disappointing to me. It is an old political trick to label a group that opposes your policies - I had hoped he was above this. I was wrong. Over 50% of those polled oppose the health care reform package; very few of them claim to be members of the Tea Party. I for one want health care reform - it is essential for the future of our country. But I am deeply concerned about the cost of the current reform championed by the President and the left wing of the Democratic Party. I guess the mean, hard-ball politics of Chicago are finally showing. Too bad."
++++++++++++++

All you people who supports the Obama HealthCare Bill and mock Republicans.... the drugs and medical equipment you need to help you now just got "dis-incentive" to help you... drug makers will pay annual fees, medical equipment manufacturers will pay excise tax. Costs will be passed on to employees and consumers. Also businesses now will have "dis-incentive" to grow and hire and keep employees. But why have a job, the government will house, feed, educate and give you free healthcare you and your family.... for ... until the money runs out.

VAT- value added tax to raise money to pay for free healthcare

Yep, Pelosi said "we have to pass the bill so we can see what is in it" .... the Republicans tried to tell you this bill is bad and the TEA party took their time to alert us.

You are automatically enrolled for CLASS your monthly costs is only $150-$250 a month. Obama HealthCare will keep on taking even while you sleep... hahahahahaha the government will take care of you in your old age, cause Social Security will not be around for you. If you believe in CLASS then you are beyond help.

Good luck taxpayers, have a nice life.... not.

They infuse all media outlets with their Socialist agenda - telling readers that their views bring "social justice" and "equality" to Americans.

The viewpoints represented on this site - indeed, all sites - are highly slanted by the constant barrage of this Socialist agenda.

TO: Webmaster, Washingtonpost.com
Publisher, The Washington Post Co. (please forward)

The "sports -- good equipment" blog spam, below, appears to be part of a paid extortion campaign against The Washington Post. Co. intended to pollute blog discourse and drive the publication to strictly moderate all internet blogs, facilitating what I believe is a covert campaign of U.S. government internet censorship -- apparently conducted by operatives working out of Homeland Security- administered regional "fusion centers" throughout the U.S.

My reporting indicates that government censors use blog moderation as a "cover" to impose prior restraint, and outright censorship, on internet political speech of so-called "targeted individuals" -- many apparently singled out for their political beliefs or their activism:

http://nowpublic.com/world/how-u-s-spy-ops-censor-web-political-speech
http://nowpublic.com/world/u-s-censors-net-while-obama-lectures-china-net-censorship

My many articles on this subject have not altered this pattern of apparent government censorship, which, I believe, is comparable to the regimen imposed by Communist China on its citizens.

As a regulator contributor to WaPo blogs and as a victim of this censorship regime, I urge The Washington Post Co. to issue a formal complaint to Dennis Blair, the Director of National Intelligence, demanding that the U.S. government police its agencies and commands to safeguard the constitutional rights of its citizens.

Thank you for allowing me to offer this suggestion in this space.

unfortunately some of the rhetoric of both the tea party and its detractors has polarized both the average citizeny and the Inside the Beltway pundits into two verbally armed camps who continue to talk past each other and are ignoring one of the core arguments which the Tea Party is making and which is undeniable if one looks at facts: our government is detached from the citizenry, is representing special interets not the public interest and is totally out of control fiscally.

The, so called, rage of the tea party is in many cases honest dissent with the uncontrolled growth of government and its tendency to see its job as passing legislation rather than governing responsibly and soundly.

A recent poll showed a divide between Democrat and Republican voters on whether or not they favorably regard the Tea Party. Predictably the left finds them sore losers and the right finds them voices in the wilderness. But it with independents that this classic divide shows something pundits and professional politicians had better take into acccount: by a 3 to 2 margin independents regard the Tea Party favorably. Remember this is the key group in most elections and if the swing voter is saying we are unhappy with the status quo incumbents had better be very very worried.

So next time you see an article disparaging or praisng the Tea Party to loyalist on either side of the aisle as yourself if that analysis is having any impact with the voters whose votes count most?

"Stop frothing at the mouth and blaming the Tea Party for years of irresponsible decisions made by congress and poor fiscal management."

Teapartiers aren't to blame for years of poor fiscal management, but they are to blame for showing up years too late, for pretending that the current president is any worse than the previous one, and for being dupes of a political machine that helped to create the problem.

Be honest, this is a Republican movement, paid for and promoted by Republicans for the benefit of the Republican party.

I can't wait to see how these Tea Party folks respond once our nation takes up immigration reform. It may be the final blow to tear the Republican Party assunder. The big business, "money" wing of the party desperately needs a more rational immigration policy put in place. I do believe, however, that immigration reform will bring out the Tea Party's true potential and penchant for violence, and that the money wing will be forced to disown them. The GOP's dalliance with this lunatic fringe will, rightfully, cost them dearly.

"At a moment when millions of Americans are looking for work, Democrats in Washington just voted to spend $2.6 trillion on a health care bill that will make it even harder to create private-sector jobs," he said.

Going forward, Democrats appear to be linking their other agenda items to the economy, arguing -- as Obama did with health care reform -- that pursuing reforms in other areas will ultimately be done for the greater economic good.

Obama pitched financial regulatory reform in his radio address two weekends ago as a safeguard against another Wall Street-driven economic collapse.

"The fact is, it's now been well over a year since the near collapse of the entire financial system -- a crisis that helped wipe out more than 8 million jobs and that continues to exact a terrible toll throughout our economy. Yet today the very same system that allowed this turmoil remains in place," .

Please - dont tell me 138 Billion savings - we all know that is no where the case with the double counting, the required dr fix, etc. And if that should pass under the commerce law..there is nothing that could prevent the Fed Government from mandating the need for any citizen to purchase any given product. Agreed wholeheartedly.

Not only have the republicans been sitting on their hands lately but, have done so for over a decade. The only policies they have done is to help the very wealthy at the expense of the working class.
Take from the middle and give to the very rich!
And yet, the rubes that support them are the same ones who are getting raped by the republicans year in and year out.

Let's examine Obama life's trajectory:
a) Born lower middle class, Black, had a single mom and raised by white grandparents
b)Stay in Hawaii and Indonesia when he was young
c)In high school, was searching for identity, smoke some weed.
d)Straighten up and went to Harvard Law school and became the First Black President of Harvard Law Review
e)Went back to Chicago to do community organising instead of going to Wall Street or some big law firm to earn big fat pay
f)Ran for Congress against Bobby and lost
g)Ran for State Senator and won

After reading these posts all I can say is: Good luck winning over that crowd.

I remember during Hilary's attempts at getting health insurance for all Americans a goal and how the Republicans did everything they could to obstruct the process and how after they won the house and the Senate they did nothing to bring our health care system into something more in line with the 20th century and affordable for everyone (while also bringing down the costs by reining in the monopoly that Insurance companies legally hold). And the Republicans did nothing but let it balloon out of control. Obama reached out his hand to the Republicans only to have them do nothing but lip-service. Those guys didn't mind that Bush rang up the largest debt in our history by tax cuts to the rich and by not paying for the Middle East War. Those guys may have a legitimate gripe about the debt but it rings hypocritical. Carter tried to do something about the National Debt (and pay for the Vietnam War while in a recession), Clinton did something about the National Debt and got the economy back on track. Trust that bunch of Republican spinoffs (the Tea Party) to control the debt? I'll bet a Reagan, raise you two Bushes and call your bluff. QED they ain't gonna do it.

If you consider all forms of redistributing the wealth socialist, then you would have to add in Reagan and both Bushes since they did alot to redistribute the wealth to the top 2 percent.
They raped the middle class and sent the money to the wealthy.
They redistributed the wealth so well that the chasm between the very rich and the middle class is at the same it was in the 1920s.
They wiped out the middle class to send all the money and domestic legislation to help out the top percent.

Bush continues to outclass this man. The left compared him to Hitler for nearly a decade. Yet Bush never once complained, even though his political opponents were making these charges and collecting millions of dollars from groups that said Bush was a Nazi. Now, poor Barry spends like a drunk sailor and doesn't finance the spending- and pow!- he is accused of being a socialist and he objects. What does he think his actions are when the gov't siezes everyones healthcare and then doles out services? Obama is petty and I suspect indifferent to our country's interests.

Many people have legitimate concerns about the shape our country is in, but intelligent people realize that what took many years to create will take years to correct. There are no miracles and, unfortunately, we are confronted with many politicians who are putting personal gains, big business, irresponsible party goals over resolving all the problems we face.
Do the tea baggers give any notice to who is sponsoring, supporting their movement?
Who is pushing the hate, anger and discontent?

Hear this, rabid left-wing lunatics:

President Obama said "he hopes to win over people in the Tea Party movement who have 'legitimate concerns' about the national debt and whether the government is taking on too many difficult issues simultaneously."

To his credit, this is proof that he is awake and recognizes many people have legitimate concerns about what government has been doing.

Even he gets it.

The true "tea baggers" are not the Tea Party members, but those who are content to let the country drown in debt and public sector waste in order to fulfill their delusional dreams about building a nanny-state utopia.

Stop frothing at the mouth and blaming the Tea Party for years of irresponsible decisions made by congress and poor fiscal management.

Message for the "Repeal & Replace" crowd....

1. Bankrupt States shouldn't be wasting money fighting healthcare for their own needy state citizens.

2. The second part..."Replace"...with what?
The Republicans were in charge of Congress from 1994 to 2006 and made no attempt at healthcare reform. Nothing, Nada.

3. Republicans will need a 2/3rds majority in both the House and Senate to repeal the healthcare bill....nearly impossible.

4. Even if the Repeal is accomplished, only parts of it would be considered unconsitutional, not the entire Bill. Required changes would be made and the Bill would still be on the Books.

5. And most importantly, even if all this is accomplished...President Obama is going to Veto the repeal!

Get over it folks! You lost. Stop by poor losers.

So go peddle your defense somewhere else - in a third world with no internet.

Read his books, listen to his speeches - he openly promotes Socialistm. The words "progressive" and "social justice" are cue words for the Progressive Political party - and should be cues for Americans that he pushes the Socialist/Progressive/Liberal agenda.

Check out dailykos.com and firedoglake.com to hear their disgusting admissions about "redistribution" of wealth in this country. They cover up their greed with "we want to help all Americans." This is a lie - just like their leader's constant lies - it is a power grab. Progressives hope to end up on the top of the heap.

Even if it has cost us our entire economy and our Democracy. For them - this is a victory.

I will tell you mmourges what the secret of the "70" actually is. You see, I have been through all of this before. I remember another hateful, misguided band of ideologues and misfits who also thought they were in the vanguard of some revolution. They kept pushing, and escalating and with the very same tactics you Tea Paty types have been using. They created disruptions, even tried to shut the government down by occupying federal buildings, standing in the streets in front of officials trying to make their way to their offices.

Then one bright sunny spring day on May 4, 1970 after days of violence and protests and even the firebombing of a campus building, the National Guard was called in to restore order. Someone threw a rock or soap embedded with a razor blade, shots were fired and in the end 4 students lay dying on a campus street at Kent State University.

This is how it begins and ends. After that incident, the left wing revolution died out because students suddenly realized that this was no longer political fun and games. And that is what is going to happen here unless cooler, more mature heads prevail. The protests will get louder, more violent. The more angry fringe groups will not be happy with the simple act of protest. Someone will start throwing bricks and rocks. Things will escalate. Police or state troopers will be called in and inevitably shots will be fired and someone will die.

That is when we find out just how real the "revolution" is. Because I can tell you from experience that the FBI and the National Guard do not just look at this as fun and games. And they are not going to let hooligans and thugs shut down or take over a legitimately elected government.

The evidence is all around us in the form of slanderous, murderous threats against our legislators, in the increasing incidents of violence in the form of shootings, private planes crashing into buildings where government offices are housed, and now in the FBI prevention of a terrorist plot on the part of militias who are just crazy enough to believe that the toxic environment the Tea Party protests have created and poisonous vapors coming out of the fahty confines of Glenn Beck's and Rush Limbaugh's broadcast booths are just the signal they have all been waiting for that the second Civil War has begun.

Mr. Liberty, Sean Hannity In Trouble: Freedom Concerts, Sean Hannity's scholarship charity for the children of fallen soldiers, has violated its charitable tax status, according to a Washington advocacy group.

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington alleges that Hannity's Freedom Concerts has "engaged in deceptive and illegal marketing practices by suggesting that all concert ticket sale revenue goes directly to scholarships for children of killed and wounded service members." CREW and veterans group VoteVets have filed complaints with the IRS and the Federal Trade Commission about Freedom Concerts, Freedom Alliance, and Lt. Col. Oliver North.

The two groups hosted a joint press conference Monday to discuss their complaints. VoteVets Chair Jon Soltz questioned Freedom Concert's priorities. "It's appalling and absurd that... 80-90% of the money [raised] is going toward overhead, not scholarships," Soltz said.

"They've made statements that 100% of [all] funds go toward scholarships," said Melanie Sloan, the executive director of CREW. "This is the kind of deceptive marketing the FTC looks poorly upon."

Freedom Concerts events have been organized by Premier Marketing, according to conservative blogger Debbie Schlussel and CREW. Premier Marketing is operated by Duane Ward, the speaking engagement agent for both Sean Hannity and Oliver North, according to Schlussel.

According to CREW, Freedom Concerts donates some money to Freedom Alliance, an organization founded by North. He is now the group's honorary chairman.

A little more than a week ago, Schlussel called out Hannity's charity for what she described as a "huge scam":

...less than 20%-and in two recent years, less than 7% and 4%, respectively-of the money raised by Freedom Alliance went to these causes, while millions of dollars went to expenses, including consultants and apparently to ferry the Hannity posse of family and friends in high style. And, despite Hannity's statements to the contrary on his nationally syndicated radio show, few of the children of fallen soldiers got more than $1,000-$2,000, with apparently none getting more than $6,000, while Freedom Alliance appears to have spent tens of thousands of dollars for private planes.

The president's comment about the nature of the Tea Party is disappointing to me. Too bad.

How anyone can sit and seriously listen to Obama is beyond understanding. Especially when knowing that the media, not only in America, but around the world are convinced that Obama is a pathological liar. How can anyone put their trust in person when they know that everything that is uttered is a lie? Personally, I cannot watch Obama on TV... I cannot listen to Obama on the radio. Just listening to others discuss Obama is upsetting. Don’t we all know by now that he is a Chicago thug? To think that hundreds of thousands of men far greater than Obama gave their lives to protect our Constitution and then, here comes Obama shuffling along from the back alleys of Chicago, completely oblivious to it all. This man would just as soon put that great document on the floor of his doghouse. When the Government News networks say that Obama is doing this... and doing that.... and things like Obama challenges the Republicans... and so... who in their right mind gives a dam, what this long “legged Mac daddy” does, when they know that it’s all a show, it’s all lies? In the future, when people are herded into an auditorium by Obama’s goons... they should all happily go along. Then when Obama comes swaggering across the stage to deliver his almighty speech... at that very moment, all the people should stand up and orderly file out... leaving the auditorium completely empty, with Mr. Fantastic standing alone, and googly-eyed before the mike. Then, when the Liberal/Democrat media yells “racist”... just yell back... “Hey! It’s Obama I don’t like, either side, black or the white”.

They do not believe that Obama was born in a foreign land but they are rightfully concerned that he is enacting policies that the far left of his party desire.

Relating to threats against Democratic politicians I believe there are crazy people on the fringes of both sides of the political spectrum.

First, Obama needs to clean up the corruption within his own home. Second, history will show that he is a divider and not a uniter. Never has he tried to reach out and really talk and listen to a variety of opinions. Its always been about him. As long as he continues with his socialist dictatorial attitude our country will remain divided. Once Obama leaves office it will take a strong and clear individual to heal and unite our country. That individual is out there but it won't be done during Obama reign.

If our President feel his "legitimacy" is at issue, why the reluctance to produce, once and for all, an Official Birth Certificate in place of a flimsy substitute document? Why the gamesmanship in place of honesty?
