Pelosi suggests that abortion opponents won't derail health bill

By Shailagh Murray
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) downplayed Thursday the possibility that conservative Democrats would threaten passage of a final health-care bill over the abortion issue, telling reporters that at least some of the lawmakers may be open to persuasion.

Rep. Bart Stupak (Mich.), the most outspoken of the House Democratic abortion foes, has warned that around a dozen votes could be at stake, if the House proceeds with a plan to pass the Senate version of the health-care bill. That legislation takes a less restrictive approach than does a similar House measure to the issue of abortion coverage in government-subsidized insurance plans.

Stupak and his bloc favor a version that would bar the use of federal subsidies to purchase policies that cover elective abortions. The Senate bill allows people to purchase policies, but requires a separate payment for abortion coverage.

Pelosi questioned whether Stupak's allies were as firm in their opposition to the Senate bill as the Michigan Democrat. "They haven't said that to me," she told reporters.

Pelosi defended the Senate bill as protecting the status quo. "There is no federally funded abortion. That is the law of the land. It is not changed in this bill," she said. "There is no change in the access to abortion; no more or no less. It is abortion-neutral in terms of access or diminution of access."

And as the final vote draws closer, Pelosi said she expected Democratic abortion opponents to consider the full scope of the legislation.

"When people think there isn't going to be a bill, they can take whatever position they want," she said. "But now they know there is going to be a bill, and these members are saying, let's talk."

Did you here the one about the guys wife that killed all of his children because she wanted to make more room for the home invaders?

Oh what. It wasn't his wife. It was his country.

Back in the 60’s the Federal Government came into the public schools and brainwashed us as little children with the message that the children we were about to have were unwanted because the population was rising so fast. They launched a program called, “Zero Population Growth”. They pushed Family Planning and birth control pills. Now they call the same programs, "Safe Sex" but the results are the same. I think you and I both know that you only have to trick people for their few child bearing years and there is no going back.

Many of us never had a say in the future of our unborn.

I am the result of two living cells. One from each of my parents. They are the result of two living cells, one from each of their parents. I wasn't just born. I am a continuation of life. I am a living thing that reaches back into time perhaps 400 million years and the result of billions of joining of pairs of cells. It is possible that if you were to follow my cells back to my parent’s cells and beyond that my family tree touches every living thing here on earth. That is if we limit ourselves to believing life was created here on earth. If it rained down from the immensity of the universe it could reach back into that immensity of time and space, and who knows what relationships and who knows what species.

My family line succeeded, at least until I came up against the Federal Government.

I have seen the Federal Government do little else to control the population.

The open border, United States laws only apply to some, is a serious slap in the face. No, not a slap in the face. It reaches well beyond that. Maybe back to the beginning of time and stretch to the bounds of the universe.

I think the solution of this problem at first is laying at the reducing of abortion.
I suppose republicans will not pay and democrats don´t accept abortion(or only restricted).

Why will a couple have abortion? if it is related to a low income, it can be avoided by subsidizing the family by tax payers.
If it is not financially related, parents should pay for abortion.

Restrictions want to be but it must not be applyied, those are the outlet on pressure´s pan.

A good analyse of each case can prevent from abortion.

Antonio Sosa and Stupac are more concerned with health care but I wonder why they don't rail in their screeds about priests and bishops etc. who continue to sexually attack young children in this country. I wonder where in the hell is their anger about this ravaging of our young boys in this country. These young children are traumatized by the viscious sexual attacks, These children need mental health care for years and some don't ever recover from this beastly attacks. I wonder how many of the posters that are catholic have had a son or daughter raped by a priest or bishop? It's been done AND proved by media sources that this practice continues to happen in the catholic church--why in the hell do they hide the story and protect the "perp" commit these dastardly act!! The Stupac's and Sosa"s of the world better start protecting their children or grandchildren from thse predator and SAVE A CHILDS LIFE AND MENTAL HEALTH The stupac" and sosa's need to shut the hell up and stop this caveman dialog. Is it any wonder why rhis country AND these RIGHT FREAKS LIE LIE. SOCIALIZED MEDICINE
Gov't Run Healthcare
Wait we already have that in Medicare and the costs are skyrocketing.
Well, liberal experts think by putting everyone on it (except congress) the costs will go down. Medicare has no abortion coverage because seniors don't need it.
Doctors don't want it because it will regulate the money making ability of their medical corp. The pharmaceuticals have a huge investment in research for wonder drugs; they don't want their payday capped.
Private ownership in the medical field would soon end; along with that INNOVATION which is driven by greed. If you want to find out what it would be like, ask someone from Canada. They have universal healthcare but it is rationed. No matter how much money you have, it is against the law to pay for healthcare outside of the govt. system.
If that sounds great, we should have a national referendum and let the majority rule, because once you start down that path, there is no going back. AND if congress wants to force everyone to have it, that should include them and union members too. No one should pay for it individually, since the 31 million people that need to be covered can't afford to pay for it. HELL there are 31,000,000 unemployed. States will not have to provide health services which should balance their budgets immediately. The only one bankrupt would be the federal government.

"We must create a national consensus that the health care system is in crisis"

if you don't think the HC system is in crisis you are a bigger fool then I suspected. Talk with anyone with knowldge of HR working in any fortune 500 company. Their HC costs have increased an average of 15% annually over the last 10 years and study what HC costs have done to GM and Chrysler( we know you will say something nasty about GM and Chrysler). I truly wish it were GOP apologists like you and your ilk that were getting notices that your HC premiums were being increased by 39% this year. You are truly a fool. If you don't understand what exploding HC costs are currently doing to US corporate profits under the existing HC system, you are certainly naive.

Posted by: leichtman1 | March 4, 2010 11:23 PM | Report abuse

apparently you are unable to write w/o using vitriolic, inaccurate hyperboles.
The death panels were nonsense from the start and actually written by R Senators at the request of UNH to allow end of life counseling for seniors. Nothing more nothing less. I know something about writing durable poas and healthcare directives to physicians but go ahead use whatever misleading info you can pull off of fox news just like Sen Grassley and the GOP did.

socialist double speak, fraudulent,dr death, mass sterilization, criminal...
you know you lose all credibility when you post such utter garbage that even your right wing friends don t take you seriously.

as to bankrupting the country W did a pretty good job of that and brought this nation very close to total economic collapse in 2009 and Paulson willing to have the feds take over our banking and auto companies in,Dec 2009, so I would be careful with your trying to use that diatribe. Currently Anthem is preparing a 39% increase in HC premiums with Ca policy holders. I sincerely hope that all R syncophants like you are happy with that direction under the current HC system. You want to see destruction of our economy. Wait until a few more years of those kinds of increases continues under R direction of doing absolutely nothing to reform HC.

Don't bother responding, you are a useless unintellectual tool of the GOP talking machine to be spreading such useless garbage on a public site.

You are right, Dr. Jack Wheeler. As his parents, relatives, mentors, associates and friends, Obama is a U.S. hating Marxist.

When Obama was running for President, those of us familiar with Castro, Chavez, and the rest of the Marxist thugs who are destroying Latin America recognized Obama’s kinship with them. Obama’s campaign strategy -- based on lies, manipulation, intimidation and fraud, with overwhelming support from a corrupt media -- was almost identical to the strategies of the Marxist thugs. Even his slogans (CHANGE and YES CAN) were the same.

However, many of us believed Americans were too smart to be fooled as the most ignorant Venezuelans, Bolivians, Ecuadorians had been fooled. We were wrong. Americans were fooled…many had been dumbed down as per the warnings of Soviet defector Yuri Bezmenov http://www.dailymotion.com/video/k6KUDv1wzraWhwlBt1

Obama's strategy to get elected and after he became president is almost identical to that of the Marxist thugs in Latin America. They also began with CRISIS, URGENT bills to solve URGENT PROBLEMS. They are "URGENT" to the would-be dictators because, when people realize what's happening, they try to defend themselves, as it happened in Honduras. By the way, Obama was siding with the Marxist thugs and trying to force democratic Honduras to submit to Castro, Chavez, Zelaya and Marxism!

But our situation may be already worse than that of Honduras. Honduras still had independent Legislative and Judicial branches that defended Hondurans from Zelaya. In the U.S., Obama largely controls the Legislative branch and, if he gets his way, will soon control the Judicial branch. Add to that the fact that he controls 80% of the media.

Fortunately, as we can now, most Americans are waking up. Most Americans are NOT sheeple! Most Americans are ready to defend their FREEDOM and the freedom of their children and grandchildren from the abomination of Obama's criminal scams and socialism/Marxism.

leichtman1, regarding socialism/Marxism, as per a 2007 book written by Robert Creamer, a CONVICTED FELON and Obama’s ACORN associate, the main objective of the "health care" bill is only to increase the power of "progressives" (Marxists) through the “democratization of wealth” (socialism/Marxim) as per the teachings of Saul Alinsky. Creamer wrote in his 2007 book:

* “We must create a national consensus that the health care system is in crisis.”
* “Our messaging program over the next two years should focus heavily on reducing the credibility of the health insurance industry....”
* “We need not agree in advance on the components of a plan, but we must foster a process that can ultimately yield consensus.”

As per those guidelines, Obama and his comrades planned to demonize the insurance industry and to agree to ANYTHING to get their scam approved. They don't care about the "components of the plan." All they want is CONTROL over our health care and our lives.

They want complete power as that of the Marxist thugs who are destroying Latin America. They plan to increase their power through the “democratization of wealth” (socialism/Marxism).

leichtman1, regarding death panels, Obama and his comrades denied the death panels, but the ruling death panel had already been funded in the stimulus bill!

"It can be found in SECTION 9201 of the Stimulus bill. It sets up a 15 member Comparative Effectiveness Board, modeled after the UK's "NICE" board. Obama has appointed the members of this board and one of the members is DR. EZEKIEL IMMANUEL. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2314606/posts

In socialist doublespeak, Obama and his comrades will call Obama’s death panels "life panels,” but lies do not change Obama's pro-abortion and pro-infanticide (late-term abortion) stand, nor the aberrant stands of Obama's Health Care Czar Ezekiel Emanuel and Science Czar John Holdren.

Obama's Health Care Czar Ezekiel Emanuel, rightfully called "Doctor Death," would make Dr. Kervorkian proud.

Dr. Emanuel has said that "Medical care should not be given to those who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens."

As per Dr. Emanuel, your mother suffering from Alzheimer’s or your child diagnosed with Down’s Syndrome SHOULD NOT receive medical care. http://freedomedium.com/2009/07/barack-obama-appoints-doctor-death-as-health-care-czar/

And Obama's "Science Czar" John Holdren has called for population-control policies such as forced abortions, mass sterilizations, and mandatory population controls. http://www.prisonplanet.com/john-holdren-obamas-science-czar-forced-abortions-and-mass-sterilization-needed-to-save-the-planet.html

Lies do not change the FACT that we are broke and Obamacare will further destroy our economy, our future and the future of our children and grandchildren.

Lies do not change the FACT that Obamacare is another scam to enslave us.

Pray the fraudulent and criminal Obamacare bill slips forever into oblivion!

If anyone believes that the Abortion deal isn't included in this Obama health care plan you are fooling yourself. Ask yourself this one question America, why are Obama and Pelosi in such a rush to pass his health care bill if it is truly that wonderful? The Abortion issue is just one item wrong with this bill, but why the rush? My theory is that ObamaCare is a train wreck waiting to destroy 1/6th of our economy people, as other politicians have pointed out. America! Obama, Pelosi and Reid and the entire Obama administration do not care what YOU think or say, and neither does the Democratic Party. We have three more years of Obama mania folks. That’s a lot of time to really screw up America just as Obama promised during his campaign tour and no one listened. Obama has repeatedly told Americans what his plans are for America but no one wanted to listen, until now. How does it feel to have socialist for a president? Regrettably, all I can say is, I told you so America. I never gave a second thought to vote for Obama. My hunch was right. This is what you voted for America! “The O-man, Barack Hussein Obama, is an eloquently tailored empty suit. No resume, no accomplishments, no experience, no original ideas, no understanding of how the economy works, no understanding of how the world works, no backbone, nothing but abstract empty rhetoric devoid of real substance.” Dr. Jack Wheeler

antonio threw out another inflamatory word bribe, guess he doesn't know much about R Congressional history in 2003 when DeLay and Hastert kept the Medicare Part D vote open for an unprecedent 7 hours:

"The bill was debated and negotiated for nearly six years in Congress, and finally passed amid unusual circumstances. Several times in the legislative process the bill had appeared to have failed, but each time was saved when a couple of Congressmen and Senators switched positions on the bill.

The bill was introduced in the House of Representatives early on June 25, 2003 as H.R. 1, sponsored by Speaker Dennis Hastert. All that day and the next the bill was debated, and it was apparent that the bill would be very divisive. In the early morning of June 27, a floor vote was taken. After the initial electronic vote, "the count stood at 214 yeas, 218 nays."

"Three Republican representatives then changed their votes." One opponent of the bill, Ernest J. Istook, Jr. (R-OK-5), changed his vote to "present" upon being told that C.W. Bill Young (R-FL-10), who was absent due to a death in the family, would have voted "aye" if he had been present. Next, Republicans Butch Otter (ID-1) and Jo Ann Emerson (MO-8) switched their vote to "aye" under pressure from the party leadership. The bill passed by one vote, 216-215."

WHAT ABSOLUTE GARBAGE !

Is there no end to the extent of absolute lies that Rs will make up to have their way on HC?

Anyone who is a student of history need only research the lies that were told in 1965 by Rs when Medicare was being debated in Congress. The exact same accusations of socialism and scare tactics were being used to try and defeat Medicare. They would do the same today if Medicare was not the popular program for seniors that it is. As much as we think things change with Rs they never do. They opposed Medicare and Social Security and today many Rs secretly long to end them, precisely how they oppose HC reform.

death panels, abortion premiums, socialism..how pathetic of Rs and a sure sign of what an absolutely desperate and brain dead party they have become. Look at the GOP's newest web site. They brag about how important it is to the survival of their party that they spread FEAR. They even brag that FEAR is the one thing that motivates their party members and urges their members to go to blog sites like this one and spread their lies and create fear. The gig is up. The American public will now see what a desperate and pathetic group of people they have become.

I don't get it - did the democrats really negotiate a deal with the Catholic Bishops - and then renege ???

I can see no other way to see it.

Why weren't the Senate democrats on board with the deal?

Why wasn't the Stupak compromise in the Senate bill ????

It just seems the most outrageous thing - to negotiate a deal - get headlines that the Catholic Bishops have signed onto the deal - and then turn your back on the deal.

Obama should have never stood for that - it is outrageous - unless he was behind it.

The gridlock in congress over the last year must end and end now. Something must be done.

The Party of NO socialism, NO bigger government, NO higher taxes, and NO reconciliation must be neutralized. The people demand progress. Craven partisanship must not be allowed to get in the way of progress on progressive causes.

All caring Americans must support our Social Democrat Party in it's push to redistribute congressional votes and save the Senate from the destruction of it's own rules concomitant with forcing reconciliation.

In addition to income redistribution, congressional votes should and must be redistributed, taking 40% of the votes from opposition to social democratic causes and redistributing them to our Social Democrat Party. Fair is fair.

After all, Republicans won their seats by greed, lapping up corporate funding and disadvantaging democracy in the process. They must be called to account. They must pay their fair share of votes to progressive causes as compensation for the greed and gridlock they have brought to government.

House dem:
If you voted previously for the bill, you can still redeem yourself, by voting no.
If you voted previously against the bill, you have a Get Out of Jail card, and now's the time to use it.
The only choice I see is whether to hold the vote at all?

My guess is they're leaving the language out so that some pin-head government policy maker will slip in the option down the road cause there's no explicit language saying you can't. Why Obama is so desperate to get Health Care passed:

GLENN: Do you have the audio again of SEIU Andy Stern where he says people want a return on their investment? Do you have that? We played that yesterday, and I played that last night. That's some of the most amazing audio I've ever heard. He says the system is corrupt because people are putting their money into it and they're distorting politics. And he admits, I'm distorting politics because that's just the way it is. That's just, you've got to play the game that way.

So listen to what he says, and this is why healthcare is passing.

STERN: This is our America. There's something really fundamentally different that we have to do. And what we have to do is what Rob and Simon are trying to do is we have to think differently about our country. We really are in Team USA right now. The market is not going to work. I mean, that's what all the free marketeers don't want to say. All the things that are going on are telling you the market is not going to work on its own. We've unhinged the market.

GLENN: Stop, stop. Stop there for a second. I thought we were past the worst.

PAT: Yeah, that's

GLENN: We're past the worst. Now all what everybody won't tell you is that the market won't work? Well, huh, I thought we were past the worst. Nobody's telling me that. I'm telling America that. America is telling Washington that. But I don't hear anybody else say that. Do you? No, I uh uh, that's weird. Okay, so go on.

STERN: The market isn't raising wages and bene we have to intervene somehow as a nation and make some very hard choices if Team USA is going to be successful in a global economy. And the politics aren't complicated. You know, people are making investments in politics.

GLENN: Listen to this.

STERN: And they expect a return, I mean, on their investment. There's not ideology involved in corporations. They are looking for a return on their investment. So they are going to make as much investment as they think is good policy. I'm just talking macro. There's lots of individuals

GLENN: Stop. SEIU has spent, according to their own memo, their own press release, $150 million for healthcare. $150 million. They want a return on their investment. Who benefits from healthcare being passed? SEIU. The healthcare union. SEIU, the healthcare union! This is obscene what's happening! And the media is the media is, I mean, the media should be tried. Because the corruption here is unbelievable. And where are the members of the media just explaining that one thing? SEIU: We want a return on our investment. And that's why it's happening. You get into bed with the devil; he expects payment.

It would be interesting to read the outcry from Rs if either of those programs were voted on today. Except for the fact that every R opposing those programs would be defeated, we would hear their whining about by Medicare and SS today given the opportunity. http://www.usnews.com/blogs/mary-kate-cary/2010/03/04/the-obama-health-reform-bills-dishonesty-on-cost.html

At his press conference yesterday, Mr. Obama claimed that "my proposal would bring down the cost of healthcare for millions—families, businesses and the federal government." He said it is "fully paid for" and "brings down our deficit by up to $1 trillion over the next two decades." Never before has a vast new entitlement been sold on the basis of fiscal responsibility, and one reason ObamaCare is so unpopular is that Americans understand the contradiction between untold new government subsidies and claims of spending restraint. They know a Big Con when they hear one.

Any bill that counts 10 years of taxes but only six years of spending as a way to bring down the deficit is dishonest. Hopefully enough congressional Democrats will vote against this and start the process over again, in a more fiscally responsible way. As Ryan said to the president, "[W]e are all representatives of the American people. We all do town hall meetings. We all talk to our constituents. And I've got to tell you, the American people are engaged. And if you think they want a government takeover of healthcare, I would respectfully submit you're not listening to them."

Interesting how some people have no problem funding wars that kill children and call it collateral damage. Interesting how some people in this country would deny women coverage for their reproductive health needs for fear they might have an abortion. Interesting how the Abortion debate gets framed as though any woman who needs one is just using it as a form of birth control. Bart Stupak is just another conservative democrat who is looking for a reason to stand up for the Insurance Industry and other conservative interests that he takes money from. Give me a break, if the blue dog dems and republicans gave a damn about children they would fund easy access to birth control and more importantly fund programs that would invest in children and make sure they had the tools to negotiate the lives they are born into. Until that happens, I see all of this obstructionism by conservative representatives of either stripe as just one more specious argument to maintain the status quo.

You, sir, are a complete idiot and a raving chauvinist. I was a single mom raising not only my three sons but opening my home to a boy from Belfast, Ireland. This was the hardest task anyone could take on, and from your ignorant stance, it is probable you wouldn't be capable.

I asked assistance from no one, no agency, no government program. I worked hard and when the boys became older, I opened my own small business incorporating their help. This not only gave them a work ethic, also kept them out of trouble. All my boys were given the opportunity to attend college and again other than a sports scholarship, all monies came from me.You should not pass judgment unless you have walked the mile.

It would benefit everyone to have health care improved, but I am against government run programs. Government assistance weakens not strengthens.

all the hate filled rants against Speaker Pelosi are nothing but sexist garbage that the right would spew against any D woman. Name calling by your side only shows how weak your argument is trashing HC reform and deny coverage for 31 million Americans, and to side with the abusive HC industry. as to the post stating "Any legislation based on unconstitutonal force, bribery, arm twisting, lies, and back room secrecy cannot be good for the general public, only good for politicians"

may I remind you of the 8 hour 2003 vote orchistrated by Tom DeLay and Denny Hastert to change a 216 vote rejection, to assure passage of Medicare Part D. I am certain all Rs here felt that was just normal political posturing to the R amnesia crowd. And by the way are any Rs here aware that there was not one cent of offsets to pay for Part D, the 1.3 trillion dollar tax cut or 2 wars; 3 trillion in all added to the deficit and not a word of complaint from Rs. What hypocrits you are.

Saw the funniest thing on this late night
ABORTION INFOMERCIAL.

They had one lady who was REALLY upset about abortion.

SHE SAW ABORTION AS A WAY OF REDUCING HER POTENTIAL MEDICARE /SS payments in the future.
She actually implied that if AMERICANS kept aborting babies that there would be no one to PAY HER SS benefits when she retires.

There was another person on this same program who actually said "If we did not abort all these babies - then there would be no illegal immigration because there would be plenty Americans to take those jobs and the illegals woulnd't come here"

There you go AMERICA -- You thought the PRO-LIFERS had some conscientious objection to abortion for moral reasons -- THEY ARE against abortion solely for financial reasons - THEY NEED someone to act as the right wing low wage slaves and to pay for their retirement entitlements.

ObamaCare--Mandatory Abortion Coverage

Consider what faced the Republicans in 2009. Obama had a filibuster proof majority in the Senate, and a rubber stamp House.

Obamacare, and its mandatory abortion coverage in the Senate seemed destined to pass.

But then confusion reigned among Team Obama as the Dems turned their swords on each other. Dem Senators demanded more and more landrieu from Reid and Obama. Obama had the toughest, indeed the only negotiations, within the Dem party dragging the process out.

The closer obama got to mandatory abortion coverage the more the DEMS slowed the process.

Meanwhile the normally fractious Republicans stood united. These united Alamo Republicans lost the Senate Battle but ultimately won the obamacare war, much like the fighters at the Alamo.

Then consider the effect of the mandatory abortion coverage in the senate obamacare which miraculously united ALL Republicans (Pro Life and Pro Choice) in Massachusetts to support a NON Pro Life candidate Scott Brown.

Obama should get the entire credit for uniting the Republicans in Massachusetts, and this November.

I don't think you know what a pun is, demtse. But if you want the anti-choice folks to stop standing in the way of the healthcare bill, try writing your rep. Especially if your rep is one of them. Alternatively, you could try talking to your friends, family and neighbors about why abortion access is critical to women's health and to family planning in general.

As for you, AJAX2, I'm pretty sure that the writers of the Constitution never said, "Well, if the President urges members of Congress to pass health care reform, that president shall be immediately removed from office." Just saying, dude. And how you read all of that into this statement: "The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States" is pretty freakin' amazing. You must, like, have telepathy into the past to know that the writers meant NO HEALTHCARE!

Some of you really need to tone down the hysterical response to healthcare. If you genuinely have issues regarding the bill, its funding and its contribution to national debt, I'm all ears. But to flip your lid and start screaming that we should remove elected representatives, who (by the way) are doing exactly what their constituents want them to do (look up Gallup polls on whether people are for/against the specific bits of legislation - you are the minority here), is akin to me screaming that all "Just say no" Republicans should be removed immediately for failure to do their jobs. Which they are failing to do and will continue. How they're supposed to ever get their own legislation passed when they refuse to work with the MAJORITY of Congress...well, I'm guessing magic is involved. If the Democrats had more balls about it, they'd have let the Republicans filibuster their little hearts out, then passed the bill with a majority vote...as the Constitution intended. Majority vote is NOT 60. Half of 100 is 50. Ergo, 51 is a majority. LEARN MATH.

Also, stop memory-wiping yourselves to forget that Republicans in the Bush II years routinely passed legislation with barely 51 votes and even threatened to get rid of the filibuster rule altogether. Something I've yet to hear from the leaders of the Democratic party. Who's a fascist now, yeeess, who's a fascist? You're so cuuuuute!

The Requirement for Constitutional Compliance Exists

The Rules of the House of Representatives, One Hundred Eleventh Congress, Rule XIII, Calendars and Committee Reports; Content of Reports, 3.(d)(1), which states,

"Each report of a committee on a public bill or public joint resolution shall contain the following: A statement citing the specific powers granted to Congress in the Constitution to enact the law proposed by the bill or joint resolution."

There also are other requirements for estimating and reporting the cost that the legislation would impose.

Look up Rules of the House of Representatives (http://clerk.house.gov/legislative/rules111/111th.pdf) and find the RULE listed on Page 25. Because of my local computer setting, the material actually appeared on my monitor on Page 28.

By now, it is obvious to all Our elected representatives that the People are not in favor of an Unconstitutional, government takeover of the health care system in Our country. This issue has been the impetus for the huge groundswell of opposition to this move toward socialism that swept the nation this summer, and continues to do so.

"All laws which are repugnant to the Constitution are null and void." Marbury vs. Madison

"No one is bound to obey an Unconstitutinal law and no courts are bound to enforce it." 16 Am Jur 2d, Sec 177 late 2d. Sec 256

"An Unconstitutional act is not law; it confers no rights; it imposes no duties; affords no protection; it creates no office; it is in legal contemplation, as inoperative as though it had never been passed." Norton vs. Shelby County

"Where rights secured by the Constitution are involved, there can be no rule making or legislaion which would abrogate them." Miranda vs. Arizona

HEALTH CARE is an Oath of Office Violation

Regarding HEALTH CARE and other legislation now in Congress . . .

Article 1, Section 8, of the U. S. Constitution defines what Congress is allowed to do.

The 9th and 10th Amendments to the U. S. Constitution prohibit Congress from doing anything not authorized by Article 1, Section 8, of the U.S. Constitution.

Health Care is not a Constitutionally authorized federal government activity.

Participation in creating, or amending, Health Care legislation is a violation of the Oath of Office.

Voting to approve Health Care legislation is a violation of the Oath of Office.

Violation of the Oath of Office is sufficient cause for immediate and permanent removal from office, retroactive to the date of first violation even if that violation occurred many years or decades ago, including requirement that an Oath of Office violator return all pay and expense reimbursements and have all personal recorded votes voided and removed from the legislative record back to the date of first violation.

Even the Pope told Nancy that she isnt a good Roman Catholic if she supports abortion but Nancy doesnt believe that Thou Shalt not Kill is a Commandment. She and No-Bama will give a speech to explain why and then they'll just change the wording or cutesy phrase to disguise it. Change we can believe in !!! Urgent means 3-4 years down the line but you PAY NOW !!! Urgent means unemployment goes from 8 % to 12 % after you con 800 billion out of the citizenry. Yep Nancy and NoBama sure are making changes that we SHOULDNT BELIEVE IN..

These people have no problem standing right up there and lying. Notice Pelosi did not state tax payer money will not go to pay for the killing of innocent babies. These are shameless people who promote the public funding of murder.
Obama, Pelosi and Reid talk through the sides of their mouth. The lies seem to flow.

Maybe Barry can ask them if they have any brothers who want to become federal judges.

How deliciously ironic it would be to see the abortion issue sabotage this expensive entitlement fiasco... :-)

Surely between the President and the Speaker these two can come up with enough bribes and promises to secure the necessary votes.

Let the giving begin!
