Citizen to Obama: 'You're a hottie with a smokin' little body.'

Updated 7 a.m. Friday
The woman who openly admired President Obama's physique during his visit to Buffalo on Thursday has found herself catapulted into the national spotlight, with lots of buzz -- and criticism -- on the Internet and a "you're a hottie" joke in the opening monologue of Jay Leno's "Tonight Show."

"People tell me I should think before I open my mouth," Luann Haley, a single mom who works as a bill collector, told WGZR-TV in Buffalo. She said she was "just trying to be funny, and I almost regret that now."

The television station said Haley turned down a request to appear on a national morning news show Friday morning. Here is her
interview with WGZR-TV
. The Washington Post's account of Haley's encounter with Obama is below.

Original Post:

BUFFALO -- President Obama is about to give a speech here. But the quote of the day has already been uttered.

"You're a hottie with a smokin' little body," Luann Haley, 45 said to the leader of the free world, with cameras capturing every moment as the president made an unannounced stop at Duff's Famous Wings for a quick bite to eat.

Obama responded with a big hug, which made Haley swoon. ("He gave me a squeeze,'' she said afterward.) And Obama reminded her that Michelle -- his wife -- would be watching on television.

"That's alright,'' Haley said.

Asked what he got at Duffs, Obama said, "Wings! This is the wing capital."

Obama ordered his wings medium, but later called out to the restaurant staff that he would have five regular, five extra spicy. They cost $10.82

Hey Debbi W, after reading this bilge, if I were your parents, I would demand a refund from whatever "college" made you think you are intelligent. ;0)

There is no documented proof anywhere that obama is "highly intellectual". Of course, there's not much documented proof about anything regarding obama.

Posted by: standard_guy | May 14, 2010 3:13 PM | Report abuse

I agree with one of the writers above, let's not read too much into it. Everybody swoons over somebody - it's our culture!

I will also agree that President Obama is a very likeable leader, as well as highly intellectual and he doesn't go around trying to get his supporters "fired up" over hate speech like some other so-called leaders. We won't name them because they're on Fox News every nanosecond!

You out there and you know who you are - stop being manipulated by these super "negative" speeches! They're just trying to stir up division!

Lot's of ignorant, Sexist, Racist, comments here. Is it any wonder the Republican party has not defeated anything proposed by this President. Lack of intellect! Lot's of intolerance! Where does that leave you, and what does that get you? NOWHERE!

Obama is the most intellectual president in many, many years. No wonder he is supported by 8 out of 10 Americans with PhD's, and an even higher percentage of people in academia. The only people questioning his intellect are uneducated whites, but their opposition is more a reflection of their own ignorance/myopia, which makes them easily manipulated by hate-mongers.

Molly is not well informed -- her "facts" are simply made up. She claims Bush kept unemployment under 5% for most of his 8 years. The truth is 1/3 of his eight years and the real picture is worse. Bush inherited 4% unemployment from Clinton which drifted up past 5% after eight months and stayed up until dipping below 5% in 2006-2007. It never returned to Clinton levels and was 8% when he left office.

It is amazing how people can make such a big deal out of a simple comment. The woman may never again have the President of the United States drop by her workplace for an order of wings, so she takes a moment to say what she feels. She has that right.

Everyone who mocks her or the President is probably just really jealous that they weren't there and didn't get to sell the man his order of wings. They should just shut up and let this go.

Posted by: ronjeske | May 14, 2010 9:24 AM | Report abuse

Molly,
So now, President Obama is a 'Saudi?' Really?

You come off as intelligent, and well informed (though clearly overly partisan), and then you say something like THAT...I don't know that there's anything more to say.

While you argue that Clinton didn't do anything about terrorism, I'll argue that Bush didn't do anything but relax regulation. His polices led to a lack of oversight which contributed in part to the housing meltdown. Yes Clinton should have done more, but he tried to take out Bin Laden several times. Bush probably tried to rein in Freddie/Fannie, but he was uncontrollably pro-business enriching all of his crony friends. And while he fought terror, he lied to the American people about WMD, invaded the WRONG country, and got Cheney's cronies billions of dollars. No president is perfect. Obama is dealing with the hand he was dealt, and like it or not, the hand Clinton left GWB was MUCH MUCH better than what GWB left Obama. Matter of fact, if not for 9/11, GWB never even gets a second term. His presidency was in the toilet before we got hit. He owes his entire presidency to Scalia & Co. in 2000, and misplaced patriotism in 2004.

K: Clinton left Bush with a $236 billion surplus, but did absolutely nothing about terrorism, i.e., didn't take bin laden for free 4 times when offered, thus, possibly avoiding 9/11 altogether. That, coupled with 2 wars, etc., Bush kept unemployment under 5% the majority of his 8 years, until the housing meltdown, which Dems created via the "Community Reinvestment Act" by Carter, and expanded under Clinton.

As for Harvard, Barack Hussein Obama's DADDY was billionnaire Saudi Alaweed, who funded his entry into Harvard via Khalid al-Mansour. No surprise Obama won't release any of his financial school records, or ANY records for that matter. Too many skeletons in this guys closet.

unclesmrgol,

I think you should read the website. Particularly the 'History' section. I'll wait here until you come back and admit your error.

Duff's was founded at Millersport and Sheridan, in *Amherst, NY* in 1946, and started serving wings in 1969.

There are several locations around western NY. Plus a recent branch location in Toronto, which opened in 1998.

Don't argue with a Buffalo-native about wings, because you will be wrong.

As for why only the Canadian branch location has a website, you got me. But that has little or nothing to do with the facts of the matter.

Posted by: mjk2007 | May 13, 2010 9:05 PM | Report abuse

mjk2007, you might want to check out their website before making the claim you just made. I've had wings from both places and Frankie's was better. It's all a matter of taste in the end, but a United States President should visit an American-owned restaurant when in the USA, not a Canadian chain, no matter how good an individual American citizen might feel the food there to be.

I'll let him stop by a Tim Horton's (the iconic Canadian donut outlet) for some timbits if he's ever in Canada -- after all, the Canadian Prime Minister passed on a meeting with Obama in Copenhagen to reopen Horton's headquarters in Toronto after its ownership returned to Canada. But in the USA, he shouldn't go to a Hortons -- choose an American owner for his stimulus package.

I guess our President feels like Prime Minister Harper when he says that Canada is a great place to invest -- even if it's in his waistline.

Can you add? The 2 colums say "Allocated" and "Spent" from your OWN link, which shows $2.2 actually spent, which under Bush was $1.7 as I didn't include figures from when Obama took office, however, you should get the updated version to date. I'm sure you won't be passing around your link knowing how dismal Obama has managed this economy. I think you need to look up the meaning of allocated and spent and, please, read your own link. You seem confused.

Seriously, I wasn't happy with Bush holding hands with the Saudi King Abdullah going down the stairs, but lest you forget that Obama bowed practically to the floor when they met. Speaking of bowing, Obama bowed to Japan's Hirohito too!! Talk about a beta male in all things Obama.

Posted by: Molly77 | May 13, 2010 8:21 PM | Report abuse

unclesmrgo, two points:

1) Duff's is *not* a Canadian chain. The original location has been at Sheridan and Millersport in Amherst, NY for decades. And almost all of their locations are still in the Buffalo area (though I'm told they opened one Toronto location in recent years).

2) Duff's is far superior to Anchor Bar, which is nothing more than tourist trap coasting along on its name and reputation.

Take it from this Buffalonian. The President made the correct choice.

Posted by: mjk2007 | May 13, 2010 8:16 PM | Report abuse

You'd think that our President, upon visiting Buffalo, would partake of Buffalo Wings at the origin -- the one and only Frank and Teresa's Anchor Bar. Instead, he goes to a CANADIAN wing shoppe franchise outlet. Duffy's Famous Wings is NOT the place to go, guy, even if the girls do hit on you hot and heavy.

Posted by: unclesmrgol | May 13, 2010 8:06 PM | Report abuse

Molly77,

Your ignorance is funny if not scary. Obama bowed to the premier of China? Did you forget that Bush held hands with the Saudi Prince just a year after his citizens killed 3000 of ours? Or did that slip your mind? On who held the purse strings at that time the Dems controlled only the house, not the Senate or the executive branch which held the veto pen. Meaning that if Bush didnt agree with it he could have vetoed it, HE DIDNT. Read it again, 7.2 trillion was spent with 10 trillion allocated, sorry you cant decipher basic information.

Posted by: rharring | May 13, 2010 7:57 PM | Report abuse

Your link dates back to 02/24/2009. Reading it line-by-line shows $10 trillion allocated, but $1.9 trillion spent. Talk about feeble and flawed. You need to get the updated version do date with Obama, not a pretty picture with your man.

Remember, Dems controlled Congress "the purse" beginning in 01/2007, not surprising things rapidly deteriorated. Most of Bush's 8 years had unemployment at under 5%, until the housing bubble began to burst. And, we all know where that stemmed from: Failed Democrat social engineering via housing, which the Republicans tried to stop via Fannie/Freddie, but Democrats cried racism every chance they got. Most conservatives disagreed with TARP, which only opened the door to Obama looting the Treasury.

As for China, not only is Obama borrowing at a frenzied pace, he BOWS to them too!!

2. When Gov of Alaska she claimed global warming was a threat to the state of Alaska, now that she isnt a candidate she somehow doesnt seem to think Alaska suffers from global warming.

Molly77,

Fortunately for you my Mom said not to pick on the not so bright people. But as your flawed research has not shown is that Bush came in with 5.5 trillion in debt, he left with 12.5 trillion not counting the 2 trillion borrowed from China, also he had the worst job creation of any president in the last 75 years. Unemployment when he left was over 7.7%, but in Dec 08 - Feb 09 before Obama could enact any policies we lost 2 million jobs in those 90 days, taking Bush's unemployment up to the current 9.9%. Im sorry that you can only find results that back up your deranged version of what happened from 01-08, but if you look at any neutral site you will see just how wrong your facts are, thus proving that you dont know what you are talking about, but after seeing many of your posts i could tell that anyhow. But to prove my point go to this site:

http://www.everyjoe.com/articles/economic-stimulus-update-how-much-has-been-spent-on-bailouts/

It shows how Dubya gave out 10 Trillion, yep you read that correctly 10 Trillion between Oct 07 and Jan 09. If Bush would have left us in great shape Obama would not have had to spend all this money. And if Bush's great TARP plan would have worked Obama would not have had to pass the stimulus. I know this is alot for your feeble mind to take in at once. So try reading it line by line.

Posted by: rharring | May 13, 2010 6:49 PM | Report abuse

Bush is enjoying his retirement, but let's see, Bush left Obama with a $400 Billion deficit, and Obama now has us at over $2 Trillion with absolutely nothing to show for it. With Bush, unemployment was under 5%, but now approaching 15% when you count people that have quit looking for work. You have 40 million people on food stamps with Obama's womb-to-tomb, cradle-to-grave mentality, but what else is new with a socialist like him. The only positive is Obama's use of drones to kill Islamofascists, where he's Bush on steroids when it comes to the war. I don't hear you libs squealing like you did with Bush on that one though. America's dalliance with Marxism via Comrade Obama will come to a screeching halt for this 1-Term President.

Is this all the media can do? While the President goes out to enjoy some spicy wings -- knowing the lame stream media will be all over his 'smokin' little body' -- an American way of life is disappearing as this nation's worst ecological disaster continues to gush in the Gulf! Where are the President's priorities? He should be addressing the good citizens of the Gulf Coast and provide leadership -- at least say something -- rather than just reiterate over and over again that BP is responsible. Instead, he finds it easier to ridicule the law enforcement officials in Arizona for simply enforcing the federal law that he refuses to address or do anything about, choosing instead to watch this nation split apart! Oh wait, maybe another beer garden summit is in the works and he'll invite Arizona Governor 'Brewer' to the White House Rose Garden to meet with the illegal immigrants who maintain the grounds. You think?

What an idiotic story from the Washington Compost. I bet Luann Haley, as well as most libs, cannot even tell you how many billions there are in a smokin' trillion.

As for Obama being a hottie? Gag me!!

Posted by: Molly77 | May 13, 2010 5:17 PM | Report abuse

Wow,
Some of you people need to get a life (or job). A little comment about President Obama and the hate comes flowing forward. This is really silly (the comments and article) and before any of you start throwing negative comments my way. First let me say, yes I do have a job. Second the job is defending your First Amendment rights to write this stuff from the Left or the Right. So, let’s come together and help heal this country that all of us so love. See you guys and ladies in November. Peace

equally nonsense. Mitt Romney is the president you just want to be president.

etpietro, lololol, you sound positively jealous!!! hee hee hee. Too bad you don't measure up intellectually to the ankle- height of our great President.
What really amazes me is that any person would say something this private to the President. any President, of the United States! LOLOL. No wonder they discourage, and keep the general public from getting too close to our elected officials and the POTUS! But yes, He is...both!

No numbnutz, I just wanted to make sure I got your attention. As your incompetent idiot hero George W. Bush once said, "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!"

Why did Michael Shear have to post this story twice? It is both here and in his news story.

NO ONE CARES!!!!!

What a little girl you are! Please tell us some more about how dreamy you think he is. Doesn't it suck though when you realize that your BFF Barry really isn't all that into you? Do you go home and cry into your "Yes We Can" pillow at night when he snubs you?

What a joke. You can post idiocy like this all you want. It won't distract us from the fact that Obama is completely clueless and incompetent. The arrogance to go into upstate NY and say that his policies have been a success. No one is buying it, Mr. President......outside of your cheering section, that is (by which I mean Michael Shear and the rest of the shills at The Washington Post).

wagner3,

Yep you are correct Obama did say that, but you forget that Palin was so dumb she had to call VP Biden Joe because she kept calling him O'Biden which she did during the VP debate, oh and she passed on questions during the VP debate. Has nothing to do with her sexuality, she is just plain ignorant. Perfect candidate for the GOP. All i heard from the Bush supporters was what a great christian he was, never heard what a great president, economist or leader he was. Gee i wonder why?

Posted by: rharring | May 13, 2010 4:15 PM | Report abuse

Nobody in the comments is denying he's a hottie with a smoking little body, correct? We're all in agreement on that?

Posted by: dkp01 | May 13, 2010 4:12 PM | Report abuse

To all you woman hating liberals that feel the need to bring up Palin, you are right. She is so dumb. I mean she thinks that we have 57 states. Hello! How dumb can you be. She can't spell Syracuse. That's not a difficult word to spell. She can't pronounce corpsman. She wanted to be VP and she can't pronounce corpsman...how dumb. She trips all the time. She's so dumb she can't even walk. She said on June 3, 2008, that future generations would look back on their primary victory as "the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal." HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! What a tool. I guess she didn't have a crystal ball to anticipate the oil spill. Oh, wait. That wasn't Sarah that said and did all those things. Hmmmm...looks like obama is "the, dumb, one"

Posted by: wagner3 | May 13, 2010 4:09 PM | Report abuse

I can not believe this woman would talk to the President of the United States like this especially since she is 45 years old! I think it would be bad if a 15 year old talked like this, but a grown woman is just ridiculous. I agree with the poster that said this is another example of the dumbing down of the country.

Oh and to koolkat_1960: I find your comments ironic because judging by your name calling of people you disagree with you have to be one of the most bitter, sad, and pathetic sounding people I have ever heard.

Message to Obama - go ahead and declare yourself as a muslim and you can turn around and marry Luann and few others who feel you're a hottie!

Our nation should feel so proud of the way our President conducts himself losing any sense of respect for the position he's elected to hold.

there simply is not anyone on the right that comes close to the brain power our president has.

Yes kook, Barack Hussein Obama is has such "brains" that he refuses to release his grades and papers from college. Can you say "AFFIRMATIVE ACTION"? And Obama is so smart he can't pronounce "corpsman" even after two tries, thinks we have "57" states, and didn't know he preacher of 20 years was a racist.

Barack Hussein Obama=American Idol + Affirmative Action

Fotunately, hottie Obama has a working brain, unlike hottie Palin.

Why doesn't he put that "working brain" to work and bring down the high rate of unemployment, which he promised would not go above 8 percent?

Go ahead and admire whatever looks you think Obama has. That's all he's got going for him. He's all style, no substance.

If only women didn't think voting for POTUS was the same as voting for the next American Idol.

What a sexist comment. Especially seeing as most of the over 60, beer gut ignorant men that make up the republican party want palin to be president so they can fantasize about those little starbursts that Rich Lowery described in such detail.

Now I know why I voted for the man: he chose the right place for wings-- not the tourist trap of Anchor Bar. Go Duff's!

That said, I'm Buffalonian born and raised, but have never heard of "extra spicy." Wings are measured by heat, especially at Duff's. I'm assuming "extra spicy" was either literary freedom on the part of the writer or lack of knowledge on the part of the President. Either way, as long as he had bleu cheese with 'em, and didn't ask for ranch dressing, all's well! (See: Candidate Kerry ordering a cheesesteak in philly, sans Cheez Wiz)
