Jon Stewart: 'What happened to Barry from the block?' (video)

Last night, Jon Stewart ripped into President Obama for his expansive view of executive power and for failing to enact campaign promises to undo the policies of the Bush administration surrounding the treatment of detainees. Obama had become Frodo, seduced by the ring of power, Stewart said. Watch:

Stewart has made a 180-degree change in his Obama coverage. A few months ago, he was clearly in the health-reform camp.

Speaking of health reform...And here we are almost a year later as the first leg of reform (state high risk pools) takes shape in two weeks. Major medical health insurance coverage
was to be made available to uninsureds.

Oh...but wait! No rates or details have been released yet! What a mess has been created. Let's hope that funding never gets approved for most of it.

There must be some kind of through-the-looking-glass rule that any comment here that begins with "I get it now..." will reveal the author, in fact, does not get it.

Phantasm's excellent response is nevertheless without hope of speaking sense to the october30s of the world.

To add my own, hopeless observation, Liberals and others want the return of the Obama bravado and candidate promises.

Oh, october30, you so DON'T get it. What I'm seeing here is criticism of President Obama backing off of his promises to reverse situations that were caused by, as you would put it, Bush Bravado and GOP Competence. It's certainly not a request to return to it!

Oh yeah, Stewart knocked Obama around. Seriously, I hope someone show the footage to the President. He needs to understand how he looks to those that supported him.
