Obama to return to the Gulf of Mexico - again

By Anne E. Kornblut
President Obama will make his most extensive trip to the gulf coast yet, visiting Mississippi, Alabama and Florida on Monday and Tuesday of next week, the White House announced late Tuesday.

He will "further assess the latest efforts to counter the BP oil spill," the White House said.

The trip, his fourth trip to the region, fills a scheduling hole created when Obama canceled a trip to Indonesia. And it comes as the administration is trying to step up its engagement in the oil spill once more, a challenge that has persisted in the 50 days since the oil rig exploded and sank.

Dear scientists, it is time to finish the calculation of the leak.
For the umpteenth time:
Finish speaking and block the hole already.

Specifically I propose to inject mercury into the tube, the force of gravity (Newton) on the drops will be greater than the sum of the drag force upward due to the speed of oil (Stokes) and the thrust of Archimedes (mercury is a liquid having a specific gravity of 13.6), the drops will fall to the bottom of the pipe, the idea is to form a column of mercury high enough into the hole until balance the reservoir pressure and avoid loss.

Barry the incompetent boob Obama sat on his hands the first two weeks totally ignoring the oil spill. Then Barry the inept bungler went on two vacations. That is the real Barry Obama.

Barry the incompetent boob of a boob can go back to the Gulf twice a week from now on and make a big show of it, and it will not save his ruined presidency.

Miserable failure Obama

DAY 9,724

Posted by: thebump | June 8, 2010 11:24 PM | Report abuse

"Thad Allen, thank God, appointed as National Incident Commander."

err, wasn't he appointed under George Bush?

wow, Obama did so much! 45 days nada! , now Florida is on the cusp of death and we can't get a containment boom or a freakin sand bar!

3 photo ops in 2 weeks doesnt change that he dropped the ball on Louisiana and now he is inept, and unresponsive in Florida!

He's not forgiven for the first 45 days he did not show up, nor now when he knows it's coming to Florida and is doing NOTHING about it.

Again, a bunch of entries on blaming President Obama.

He didn't do this. And he has handled himself marvelously. Kept the public informed, unlike lying BP.

Coordinating Area Response Teams who report to Regional Response teams (which he formed). Thad Allen, thank God, appointed as National Incident Commander.
Established legislation to be passed for the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill Legislative Package but Congress goes on vacation.

I can post the stats of what he has done so far if you want. Been posting them for the past week now (off and on)

I also have the list, (thanks to a net friend) of his record so far in office.
Wanna see that one?

And finally, what kind of parents are you, if any of you are parents. Do you teach your kids this hate that you spew?

Yeppers, so many people and their livlihood will be destroyed for years to come. If not by oil, then by disperants.
A toxic Atlantic Ocean.

Thanks BP.

RIDE HERD President Obama. RIDE HERD.

I hope he talks to some families whereby their claims submitted to BP are taking 3 to 4 weeks to process. Come on BP....get it together. Better have those accountants and bookkeepers working 24/7.
No excuses !!!

I love how the AMERICA HATERS below criticize the President for not going to the Gulf and now they criticize him for going to the Gulf. Just admit that you are paralyzed by hatred of the man. Also, refrain from tossing barbs unless you can point out steps the Feds should be doing that they are not.

The mindless repetition is sickening.

The economic and spiritual toll of this catastrophe is incomprehensible.

Obama and photo ops! No help at all, just determined now to get as may photo ops as possible--still on the never let a crisis go to waste ego trips!

Big deal! Obama's going back to the Gulf. Why doesn't stay there for a couple of months washing off Pelicans and Seagulls or cleaning up oily goo? He would do more good at that, then hanging around Washington causing trouble. Both Clintons, Joe Biden and goofy Pelosi could go down there and stay for a year and no one in America would miss them either.

BP Plans to Replace Containment Cap Next Month
"Company [BP] Believes a Bigger Cap Will "Provide a Better, Tighter Fit" over Oil Well Blowout at the Bottom of the Gulf of Mexico"
it's (exactly) MY IDEA published in June 6 on my blog and posted hundreds times (or sent via email with the text below) on several blogs everywhere on the Web... CBS, CNN, DHR Facebook Page, BBC, Huffington Post, WSJ, Bloomberg, NYT, BusinessWeek, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, etc. etc. etc.
thanks BP to have (finally!) decided to adopt MY VERY GOOD IDEA, but, NOT SO THANK for having waited so much to adopt MY ideas, and to (still) haven't acknowledged me as the inventor of this idea... :[
the BP's "cap" CLEARLY is a DRAMATICALLY WRONG idea!!!
don't wait more DAYS or WEEKS to do something better!!!
take a look and adopt NOW my NEW idea just published!!!
it can STOP up to 100% of the leak in a matter of days!!!
in the mean time, just seeing its live video, the oil flow from the BP wellhead seems INCREASED VERY MUCH despite the "cap"...
and others agree with me...
and it should continue to spill oil until this year's fall...
WHEN the US governement and the Coast Guard will (finally!) take the control of the crisis so far leaved to the BP's businessmen?
also the US Coast Guard no longer believes in BP... "Coast Guard seeking new ideas on dealing with oil disaster"

"I've been on this since day one". that's his mantra, vut it's bs, he hasn't done anything that doesn't start with "agreed to meet" or set up a committee" or "toured the region". In reality he hasn't done jack, because he is a corrupt Chicago gangster / marxist, and if he can't bribe it, threaten it or apologize for it, he hasn't got a clue as to a course of action.

It never fails to amuse me to see how a 'socialpath's' mind works.

Always about him; focus always about him.

I guess Obama hasn't yet figured out that most people can't stand him and are laughing at his hype.

We are faced with very serious issues in the USA and the spill and clean up are just two. What does he do? He grandstands on his sociopathic perch and says, 'look at me!'

My response is just get out of our way! You have already done too much damage and those who really care and know how to lead will take over before this country implodes from within.
