Sharron Angle confirms she is not a birther

In an interview with Hot Air's Ed Morrissey, Nevada Republican Senate candidate Sharron Angle firmly denies being a "birther," a term used to describe those who believe that President Obama was not born in the United States. Morrissey reports:

Earlier today, I spoke exclusively to Sharron Angle, the Republican nominee to challenge Harry Reid for the Senate seat in Nevada. In the past few days, rumors have swirled that Angle is a crypto-Birther. I asked her "flat out" whether she believed Barack Obama was born somewhere other than Hawaii, and she replied, "No. Is that flat-out enough for you?"

This is in stark contrast to remarks Angle made Thursday night in an interview on the radio show Libertarian Politics Live. During the interview, Angle was asked, point-blank, if she believed the president was "a legitimate president or a naturalized born citizen." Angle replied saying, "You know I think our Supreme Court has pretty much made that decision." An Angle spokesman denied that Angle was a birther or had ducked the question.

Angle's response also serves to rebut earlier reports that the endorsement of her campaign by the Declaration Alliance could serve as proof that she was among the birthers' ranks. A search for the endorsement on Angle's website turns up cached results but no active pages.

faucetman - are you for real? his mother was born in Kansas to parents born in Kansas yet she is "inelegible". Had he been born in 1958 you could argue Hawaii lacked statehood. Luckily we can't rescind citizenship based on stupidy otherwise you and Angle would be nationless.

Regardless of what she says, I am not sure that Angle is not a birther.

Just an observation but about a quarter of our citizenry does not know from whom we declared independence. About a quarter of our citizenry are birthers. About a quarter of our citizenry think that Bush, II was a great President.

I strongly suspect that these are the same 25%. Ignorance meets stupidity.

Angle is not now, nor has she ever been, a birther. In fact, she'll later be providing Ed Morrissey with the names of several people who are suspected of being birthers.

P.S. "Birthers" is a pejorative. Yet, because "birthers" don't know how to go about this in the right way, Emi Kolawole feels free to use the slur. There's nothing "birthers" can do about it, because they refuse to handle this issue in the right way.

P.P.S. A whole series of MSM hacks have lied and misled about the basic, irrefutable, easy-to-understand facts of the cert matter. If "birthers" would simply concentrate on that they could help discredit dozens of MSM hacks. Read about those lies here:

Harry Reid is so unpopular in Nevada that his own son, who is campaigning for governor, refuses to use the family name Reid in his ads:

Nevada gubernatorial candidate Rory Reid (D) is on the air with his first campaign ad and it’s missing one thing: his last name.

Reid, the son of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), doesn’t say his name at any point during the ad, but it prominently features his campaign logo, “Rory 2010.”

Observers noticed that throughout the gubernatorial primary, Rory Reid seemed to distance himself from his father, who faced high disapproval ratings from voters.

Faucetman: WHAT "age and residency requirement" exists before one's US citizenship is automatically conferred upon one's children?

Perhaps you should keep in mind that *John McCain* wasn't born in the United States. The Panama Canal Zone wasn't any more a part of the United States than Guantanamo is today.

Still quoting those rigged rasmussen polls? Why not just make numbers up yourselves? Just as reliable and accurate.

It doesn't matter what she says.

Truth is relative to people like Angle and Palin.

Don't believe one word Sharron Angle says. All a lie.

The Post I grew up with in the 1970s, which took on the Nixon administration, would have called Angle a "liar". Why does the Post today dance around the obvious? Not standing up to this type of lying just allows it to continue, and some of the people get fooled some of the time (except republicans, who are happy to be fooled all of the time).

Harry Reid once actually represented the people of Nevada, but has lost his way to become all that is corrupt in Washington. He works against what his constituents want. He is running a filthy smear campaign that will backfire on him.

We all know that Reid's handlers are having him keep a low profile because he makes inappropriate comments about smelly tourists, overweight people, and black people.

Not one person in Carson City Nevada seems to say anything good about Harry Reid. Their huge TEA REVOlT when Obamacare passed pretty musch says he won't be welcomed back in Nevada, when he is booted out of Washington.
THE BOOT awaits him.

DUMP OBAMA! CLINTON IN 2012! IT'S THE ONLY WAY DEMOCRATS CAN RETAIN POWER! OBAMA IS TOXIC WASTE!

I have studied the Obama eligibility issue for over two years now. I have read more books & done more online research, during that time, than during the rest of my life combined. I have learned a lot about the constitution and the founding of our country. I won't claim to be an expert, but I am definitely well informed.

I don't know if Sharron Angle is a birther (whatever that means) or not. She is a Conservative. She is a so called "tea partier", not a "tea bagger". Only you filthy liberal degenerates would even know what that was. I had never heard of it.

1. There is NO QUESTION that Obama does not meet the constitutional requirement (article II, section 1, clause 5) to be president. That is a "natural born citizen". A special qualification only required for the president / Commander in Chief.

2. There is absolutely no "PROOF" that Obama was born in Hawaii. The so called Certificate of Live Birth (birth certificate short form) released to the internet is not proof (not to mention that it is a forgery). These have been issued to residents of Hawaii REGARDLESS of where they were born. (goofy, yes, but true. Look it up)

2a. or "PROOF" that he was even born in the United States. If this is the case, at best, he can only be a "Naturalized citizen" ineligible to be president. At worst, because of his father never being a citizen and his mother not meeting the age and residency requirements to convey citizenship to Barry, he would be an illegal alien, not a U.S. citizen at all.

One day the truth will come out. Until then, how is that "Hope & Change" working out for you? Is this the change you were hoping for? Character matters, experience matters, and citizenship matters. Obama has none of those. He has proved himself the empty suit Muslim I always knew he was. And you all laughed. Are you still laughing?

I just don't see how you can say the comment "You know I think our Supreme Court has pretty much made that decision." is supposedly in "stark contrast" to what she said more clearly, that no, she is not a birther unless "stark contrast" to a journalist means using different words to say the same thing and you are looking for a "gotcha" comment. It seems obvious to me that the comment "You know I think our Supreme Court has pretty much made that decision." means that the issue is settled and she is does not question Obama's election.

Your just playing with words.

that's what politicians do, deliberately.
the difference is that her earlier comment simply concedes that the issue was settled, not that she agrees with how it was settled. That's certainly important, but it's not exactly the same as "I agree." The difference could indeed matter to voters. I for one wouldn't vote for anyone who was a birther but merely conceded the authority of the Supreme Court to disagree.

Has Harry Reid confirmed he is not a birther?

Has Harry Reid confirmed he is not senile after his stroke? I mean when he says stupid things like "the war is lost" and votes against his own bill twice, you have to wonder.

Has harry Reid confirmed whether he still thinks Obama is a a ""light-skinned" African American "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one" ?

Um, WaPo, how about a link to our broadcast? Pretty pathetic that you would mention our show and not even link to our website LibertarianRepublican.net or the show itself.

Is it you don't want people hearing her entire response, and just seeing the section you selected out?
