Nancy Pelosi takes turn as 'Top Chef' judge

If you haven't heard, season 7 of Bravo's"Top Chef" is based in Washington, D.C. - one of two reality shows this season to showcase the nation's capital.

Wednesday night's episode of 'Top Chef' featured Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) as a guest judge.

According to the program's "unofficial fan site," Pelosi ruled on behalf of the Blue team (Kenny Gilbert, Amanda Baumgarten, Kevin Sbraga and Kelly Liken) , granting each team member a $2,500 cash prize.

[Host Padma Lakshmi] introduces Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, who seems to have gotten ambitious after pushing health care reform through this year and is now really reaching for the stars. She is the distinguished guest judge hired to taste these two dishes. She is a fan of both, but does comment that the Red Team's Dish is salty. She declares the Blue Team victorious. No doubt Republican pundits will debate for hours about whether the Democrat's color preference was politically charged.

'Top Chef' airs Wednesday nights at 10/9 p.m. central time.

To me, politicians are nothing but hypocritical elitists who stand up and lie to us every single day. And Pelosi is certinly the worst of the lot. Nancy Pelosi, is Washington's chief power broker. She talks about socialism and lies to us about "jobs" while she lives in a 55 million dollar San Francisco mansion, and has her extended family flown all over the world in her private military jet that seats 200 people at a cost to us of $27,000 per hour. (Additionally, the liquor bill on the plane in 2009 alone cost American taxpayers' $100,000.) Ms. Pelosi also immediately rented a new San Franciso office costing us $18,000 per month when the Democrats took control of the House in 2006. Her office rent is three times that of Chuck Schummer who must rent in the far pricier Manhattan area. I think this is especially surprising and offensive given that we are living in a time with an economy that is inflicting hardship on so many.

All of Pelosi's daily talk about "social justice" is simply bait to attract idealistic (especially younger) voters. It is actually all about, and only about the acquisition of more power for herself and her party. Believe nothing this woman says. And remember, she is simply rushing to go to her nightly elegant dinner party, being paid for in full, by you and me.

Was Ms. Pelosi recruiting a chef for her AF jet that travels coast to coast, with family and friends? Frankly, she wouldn't know the difference between a prawn and a scallop; she actually resembles a Maryland crab, claws and all.

As a fan of Top Chef, why did she have to come on my show and ruin it?
