Angle: Reid 'wants to call me an extremist?'

Republican Sharron Angle is up with a new ad in the Nevada Senate race, attacking Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid over the state's high unemployment rate.

Angle has attacked Reid on this point before, and it's a sore topic given that Nevada is home to the nation's highest unemployment rate (14 percent). Angle attacks Reid saying, "Those aren't just numbers, they're people -- families, who've lost their homes."

Despite being challenged on the point of whether a Senator can be held solely responsible for the state's economic woes, Angle continues, "Harry Reid has dragged Nevada down to perhaps it's lowest point ever. And he wants to call me an extremist?"

The last line refers to Reid's previous attack ads that claim Angle is "too extreme" and use Angle's, at times, controversial statements against her.

The ad comes shortly after an ad in which Reid, who remains unpopular in the state, attacked Angle for saying she would not have supported the extension of unemployment benefits:

A recent poll shows the candidates in a statistical dead heat.

Most posting today are missing a major point on Reid: He's completely sold out American citizens in favor of AMNESTY FOR ILLEGAL INVADERS. Why? Because a few pieces of political silver are more important to him than the well being of the citizens of this country! He doesn't give a flip about the damage AMNESTY for 20 million plus ILLEGALS will do to the country. Yes 20 million not the 12 million lie he's using which is over 7 years old.

Reid should retire to his CASA DEL ILLEGLAS in Nevada and take care of his ILLEGALS there and stop screwing up the country with Obama and Pelosi!

roger ramjet...you are quite mistaken....first....i AM NOT SOME OLD COUNTRY CLUBER with a 10 year or less lifespan...I am a young MD whos working at an HMO for less than most tradesman.... and telling me I am against barney frank for his sexual preference is so tangential I recomend you improve your debating skills... did you read the part about assuring( read lying) to the public on the capitol steps when they said how unamerican those 30 republicans were who didnt vote for the stimulus... they actually wanted to know how the $ would be spent... then he stated explicitly that the taxpayers had NOTHING to worry about freddie and fannie.... because he was in full knowledge of the books.... and guess what... 2 weeks later they were bankrupt publicly.... is he incompetant... or a liar? I dont see where this has anything to do with his sexual orientation... BTW...read the op ed about the last refuge by another md...kraut..... substitute your play here for sexuality instead of shouting racism... sound familiar.... why would a young gay MD even bring up franks private life...there is so much important to fix in the country.... why would I worry about someones private life... why do you? I feel sorry for you...you are a misdirected judgemental and easily fooled by your own emotions.... you completly missed the nail with your hammer.... you should READ my comments...and see how yours are unrelated to my comments except they disagree with your policy wishes.... the housing market crashed for the same reason most things in washington fail... good intentioned political decisions that screw the public over... making all the housing policies of getting fannie/freddie to aoprove mortgages people cant afford... legislating mortgage interest subsidies...at any price...income tax favoritism of real estate sales...all contributed to this reset...and it was the majority party who decided they could pass the bills and read them later...including the lack of oversight of how the money was to be used by the banks... bonuses and not credit loans..... perhaps in another world... you would read a few books... do you know how our government created the dust bowl by fixing the price of wheat... do you know of the 10 consequences that come with every 1 intended by our benevolent legislators.... you have passion... apply some of it to reading....your intellect may rescue your falling into the last refuge of a ..... So exactly how does Angle propose to lower NV's unemployment rate? I don't live there, but I've never heard anyone discuss her plan to put Nevadans back to work.

Harry Reid does not deserve to be re-elected. He is out of touch with the people he is supposed to represent. How dare he make those dirty backroom deals to 'buy' votes? and, how dare he ask senators to vote for bills BEFORE reading them? That is not the American democratic way of government that I learned about in school.

generousmd: What is your point? The economy got trashed by a bunch of theiving banks, stock brokers, and greedy fat old Baby Boomers, who sound mostly like your crowd at the country club. Go read the Grapes of Wrath again, and remember what it is like to be broke with no future.

Barney Frank? Old people like you only mention him due to his sexual orientation when they are too cowardly to say they just don't like gays. Man up, acknowledge that you fear the future and your own mortality, and leave the world to those of us that have a stake beyond the next ten years.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Ms Angle also say that it is not a Senator's job to find people jobs? If that's the case, how can she both blame Reid for NV's unemployment rate & claim that she's a better candidate who will solve that problem?

When social security is privitised and medicare becomes a voucher program...don't you angle supporters come crying to us - take responsiblity for your on actions, your own votes and deal with the consequences of your actions.

The problem with Sharon Angle is not her extremist views or her Tea Party affiliation. The problem with Sharon Angle is that she is a moron.

If your spouse cheats on you....and you take them back.... it reinforces their belief that the behavior is somehow acceptable.... it build a sense of entitlement in them...and a belief that they are right..... if anyone sees how Harry Reid and his pals like Barney Frank have SCREWED our country ...its economy...and the average taxpayer..... and then you go out and vote for him again,..... DONT be surprised when you get screwed over again.... I dont think it matters whos running against an incumbent.... how could anyone do worse? How could a new elected individual not short circuit the washington culture of connections and corruption.....( think charlie rangel) honestly... how could anyone be surprised when they get the SAME kind of government if they REelect Reid? Only a fool votes for a man whos flawed decisions hurt our country and then expects things will be different. I love my country...I hope the others who do vote to give a few first timers a chance.... thats how we got Lincoln. If you vote for Reid its because you think the man who said fannie and freddie were sound on the capitol steps... was just incompetant...and not because he just thinks the publics full of fools...and his experience of being repeatedly fooled will make for sound future government...as he must have LEARNED something in all his washington years.... but personally....I think he will hear only that the public is ready for more of the same... just like a cheating spouse.

Most of what Angle says is nonsense, if not lunacy, and she would be a disaster in the Senate. Reid is running a poor campaign against an opponent who should be so far behind in the polls as to be ready to drop out. Sounds like neither of them belong in office.

One of the most odious dbags in my memory (the incumbent) vs an quasiinsurrectionist nitwit. Glad I don't live in Nev. As a oldschool Repub, can only thank the Tea-Freaks for keeping Reid in Washington. Shades of the immortal Ray Shamie.

Give her credit for standing up and delivering the message. This isn't a personal attack on Harry Reid, it is an attack on his job performance and she presents it well.

Because he is such an unpopular person Harry Reid relies on surrogates, dark music and ugly pictures of Angle. He is only a picture and voice.

She is right to challenge Reid on the current situation in Nevada. Reid will tell Nevadan's that as Majority Leader he can bring more to the state, so it is fair to hold him responsible for the current state.

If you look at the two worst states in the Union right now, they are the homes of the Speaker of the House and the Majority Leader of the Senate. That is a pretty dismal record of performance to take to the voters if you are looking to get re-elected.

Rob-:the Error should be "It's," as in Cousin It's Cave.

The problem is that 87% of the state resides in Las Vegas or Reno, both of which were employment magnets from the mid 90's to the mid-to-late 00's, primarily in the service industry and construction. When the condo explosions of the early-to-mid 00's ran out of steam, there was no need for the construction laborers, and as the bubble burst elsewhere in the country, combined with new casinos all over the country, bookings and sales in the overheated casino market dried up. But the people remained, unemployed, or, chronically underemployed. These mighty low wage Dust Bowl Joads have no where to go, and no jobs to go back to.

What do you suggest?

Senator Ried does not have to call her an xtremist. He just has to use footage of her speaking, and reprint her own words and that "extremist" thing is obvious even to the most casual observer. She is as nutty as palin, paul, toomey, beck...this crowd of loonies make hanity, limbaugh and ingram seem sane and balanced - something no one ever thought possible. Sort of like making the kookoo for coco puffs bird seem sedate and erudite.......

Perhaps not the best person to be witted against Sen. Harry Reid, but Candidate Sharron Angle did NOT dismantle E-Verify, illegal worker verification system, implemented by the Social Security administration and Homeland security databases. Reid is also a confirmed Pro-Amnesty lawmaker, when his own state of Nevada is suffering chronic unemployment and a withering state deficit.

Like Arizona, Nevada has a very large population of illegal immigrant households that have been continuously nibbling at the public welfare programs and across the rest across the country. Whereas, Arizona's Governor Jan Brewer along with state Senator Russell Peirce have enacted laws such as SB 1070, to try to inhibit the illegal immigration invasion. The omnibus Consolidated Appropriations bill includes a little-known provision that guts the major provisions of the Secure Fence Act of 2006. This provision -- buried on page 123 of Division E of the Consolidated Appropriations Act. It is my analysis that if the 2006 Secure Fence act had not been amended, to a single fence the growing occupancy of illegal aliens would not have happened to the 18 and up population. Sen. Reid has done nothing to safeguard his state from being overrun by illegal alien families working in the entertainment and service industries. With 15 million American workers jobless nationwide, why hasn't read made E-Verify permanent?

Is this the genesis of politicians working for "The people" again and not for the special interests and open border lobbyists? Only time will tell and the final results is the November midterm elections? As for a reduction in the illegal alien population, I don't believe it for one minute? NOR DOES ANYBODY IN THEIR RIGHT MIND BELIEVE IT...? The Obama Czars has shown there true colors, that illegal immigration is a great way to collect votes in the future by pacifying large minority groups. Now ICE is openly releasing illegal aliens back onto Main Street. Allowing people to go free is an outrageous award for entering America illegally and its effect will bring in more nationals looking for government benefits.

I reside in Illinois and I must say that Harry Reid's campaign ads remind me of another Democratic running for re-election. That Democrat was Rod Blagojevich in 2006, when he was running for re-election for Governor, and his campaign co-chairmen were Rahm Emmanuel, David Wilhelm and Barack Obama.

Governor Blagojevich's commercials always started with the statement "What's she thinking?" followed by a distortion of his opponent's views!

I cannot understand why a person running for a high political office must rely on falsehoods to obtain this position unless they have no positive items in their own background to be proud of!
_____________________________________

Relying on falsehoods can be SOOOO despicable, no? They reveal a certain, shall we say, dearth of maturity and wealth of insecurity. Take, for instance, the assertion that "his campaign co-chairmen were Rahm Emmanuel, David Wilhelm and Barack Obama." Completely and irrefutably false, and yet someone who is deeply perplexed by the reliance on falsehoods has shared it without a trace of irony.
What are we to make of that? Surely mwhoke, a self-professed Illinois resident who has a knack for remembering political advertisements, is capable of knowing that Alonzo Monk was campaign manager for Blaggy-boy in 2006. We can safely assume then it is not mere lack of intelligence that leads mwhoke to rely on falsehoods, as he put it, but something else entirely. Perhaps it is malice. Maybe mwhoke just doesn't like Rahm Emmanuel, David Wilhelm and Barack Obama. Maybe that leads mwhoke to "misremember", make false assumptions, or maybe, just maybe, mwhoke is being intentionally "creative" with the truth.
In the general scheme of things, it matters not in the least, but I do think it is worth noting that as mwhoke was kind enough to draw attention to reliance on falsehoods immediately after relying on falsehoods, it is pretty obvious mwhoke was feeling a bit guilty.
Isn't that cute?

The problem with Angles commercial is that SHE is the person talking. WHen you attack someone you don't do it yourself, because you look angry and mean.
