Graham: Obama is taking over 'most of society'

By Matt DeLong and Felicia Sonmez

Sunday Rundown: A quick wrap-up of the Sunday talk shows.

CBS: FACE THE NATION - Graham: Obama taking over 'most of society'

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) accused President Obama of "turning his agenda over to the most liberal people in the House," and pointed out that few Democrats are campaigning on the Democratic health-care bill. "Most Democrats in swing states are running against Nancy Pelosi and against the Obama takeover of most of society," Graham said. The South Carolina Republican predicted that there will be more bipartisanship in 2011, particularly on extending the Bush-era tax cuts. He defended his friend, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), who took the unusual step of harshly denouncing a Senate colleague -- Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) -- at a recent campaign rally for Carly Fiorina. "I think John is reacting to an agenda that he thinks has really been overreaching," Graham said. "It is different. The Senate is different now."

Former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean and GOP strategist Liz Cheney got into a heated discussion about President Obama's recent accusations that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is funding attack ads with money from overseas donors. "It's not fair and it's an abomination and a shame that he's attempting to chill first amendment rights," Cheney said.

CNN: STATE OF THE UNION - Axelrod: There's a reason groups don't disclose

White House Senior Adviser David Axelrod renewed the Democratic argument against outside groups' non-disclosure of donors, saying, "If people don't disclose, there's a reason." Axelrod said that the conservative-aligned group American Crossroads will spend "probably over $100 million" by Election Day. He said that Democrats "believe deeply in disclosure," hammering congressional Republicans for opposing disclosure legislation and pushing back against the notion that Democrats are focusing on disclosure because they don't want to talk about the economy and other issues. Axelrod also defended the administration's stance against extending the Bush-era tax cuts, arguing that the cuts would be "the least stimulative tax cut we could give." Asked about the administration's ability to work together with congressional Republicans, Axelrod said that "it takes two to tango," adding that with the likely GOP gains in November "comes a greater sense of responsibility" for congressional Republicans.

Conservative Christian leader Gary Bauer, who heads an outside group spending significantly on the midterms, said that the laws dictating donor secrecy were originally created to protect those donating to the Alabama NAACP from "intimidation and outright thuggery." Bauer charged that many of Obama's donations "may have come from foreign citizens, not Americans." He also pushed back against the notion that social issues are off the table for Republicans. "These values issues actually expand the Republican Party. They don't narrow it," he said.

FOX NEWS SUNDAY - Cornyn: 'Two-cycle process' to retake Senate

National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Cornyn (R-Tex.) said he is not predicting a GOP takeover of the Senate in November. "It may be a two-cycle process," Cornyn said. The Texas senator said it is up to President Obama to determine whether there will be more bipartisanship in the next congressional term. "If he's willing to work with us, as Bill Clinton did after the 1994 elections to pass things like welfare reform, trade agreements and the like, we'll certainly work with him," Cornyn said.

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) rejected the notion that Democrats have governed too liberally, noting that approximately 40 percent of the economic stimulus package was tax cuts. McCaskill said she is "open to compromise" on extending the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans. "I will go to the mat for the middle class," the Missouri Democrat said, but she noted only three percent of taxpayers fall under the top income tax bracket.

Despite host Chris Wallace's best efforts to nail her down on entitlement reform, California GOP Senate candidate Carly Fiorina refused to get more specific about what programs she would cut to find the $4 trillion needed to offset the cost of extending all of the Bush-era tax cuts. "Those tax cuts are central to growing the economy," Fiorina said. "Indeed, I would argue there are some additional tax cuts we need to make." She volunteered that Congress should eliminate waste, fraud and inefficiencies before having a conversation about cutting entitlements.

NBC: MEET THE PRESS - Buck: Being gay is 'like alcoholism'

Colorado Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet and his Republican rival, Ken Buck, faced off in a debate. On the topic of gay people serving in the military, Buck said that he believes sexuality is a choice, but added, "I think that birth has an influence over it, like alcoholism and other things." Buck defended himself against charges that he's been inconsistent on the issues, saying, "It is easy when you have a tracker, and you have 100 examples of answers, to use a tape that shows a slight deviation in the answer." Bennet shot back that "the flip-flops in this race are unbelievable."

Bennet also defended his vote for the stimulus, saying that the stimulus "saved us from going into the second Great Depression." White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs also appeared on the show. He predicated that Democrats will retain control of the House and Senate this November, a reversal from his projection over the summer that Democrats could lose the House. He also said that Democratic candidates have done "a remarkably good job in a tough political environment."

ABC: THIS WEEK - O'Donnell: GOP isn't helping me

New Castle County Executive Chris Coons (D) and marketing consultant Christine O'Donnell (R) were interviewed separately on the show. Coons said that he'd gone from "significantly down to significantly up" in the polls in his race against O'Donnell. Of O'Donnell, Coons said, "I think my grandmother would have said she has a lot of moxie," adding that her greatest strength is that she's "good on TV." O'Donnell said that her campaign is hoping for the National Republican Senatorial Committee to "help us shine a spotlight on my opponent's negative record," but "it's two-and-a-half weeks left, and they're not." The NRSC has donated the maximum $42,000 to O'Donnell's campaign. O'Donnell also said that her campaign has not run any negative ads against Coons.

In the show's roundtable, Meghan McCain said that O'Donnell is "making a mockery of running for public office" and is "seen as a nutjob" among her group of friends. McCain also said that the tea party movement is "losing young voters at a rapid rate."

CSPAN: NEWSMAKERS - Bair: No foreclosure moratorium

Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Chair Sheila Bair called the foreclosure crisis "tragic," but she said she would not support a national moratorium on foreclosures. "If a family can't afford making a modified payment, then something else has to happen," Bair said. "I regret it, but that's just the way the system has to work." She said federal regulators must make sure that all appropriate processes are followed before foreclosure.

Sad what the republicans have become. After their radical bunch have tried so hard to destroy our nation (since 1812)...they are being finally found out for what they really are and have always been. Pathetic & in the back pockets of corporations and the rich. Vote republican and have your rapist's baby, while they do away with the social security and medicare you paid into. They want the women barefoot and prego in the kitchen and the blacks back out in the cotton fields.

I am willing to wager that people who use the term marxist does not understand the real meaning behind it. They relate marxism to stalinism and communism. The real marxist doctrine and the communist doctrine are nothing like what USSR or any other nation for that matter has ever really adopted. dictatorship always falls in the way. Let's be real there is no plan to "take over everything".
It is a terrible thing to make the medical insurance companies have to stand behind you when you get sick. Not be able to limit your cost to them as well as more benefits.

Oh, and Yogiman is wrong - the President has shown his Hawaiian Birth Certificate to the appropriate people. Yogiman, what is it about a black president that threatens you so much that you feel the need to challenge his nationality? Perhaps you should think on that more than on whether there is some left wing cover up that is shielding the truth about the president's birth place. You would be a much healthier and happier person if you would work toward being less paranoid.

A copy of Barack Obama's Kenyan birth certificate has been sent to all members of congress. The young man who sent it to them has offered to testify under oath. Why has it been kept so quiet... by congress? Is it because they are all in the program with Obama?

Axelrod is a complete jerk and a fraud from Chicago land. Him, the obamas, and gibbs need to go back to where they came from and let people who really care about this country run it. This will be a very good year for America if the 53% of the electorate that voted for obama in 2008 stay home and suck their thumbs.

Obama has no respect for the "office." He does not dress appropriately for a president while in the public. He is always without a tie; but, of course, most ties are made of silk and Muslim men are forbidden to wear silk.

In my book no one needs to know who gives what unless they want it to be known. Privacy should be upheld to the fullest. No matter what party it is.

Term limits are needed badly. No one should be in a carrier position in government. One term is plenty in my book and the Senate should be shortened to 3 years from 6. President down to 1 term. No one in government needs to be in office longer than one term. Trouble sets in after that as we can see now what a mess we have on both sides of the isles. Mercy.
So TERM LIMITS should be a must!

Lindseed Grahmnesty is NOT a REPUBLICAN. Everything that guy does is to allow the marxist to get a deeper foothold on the nation. He is a pathetic self serving pile of bile. Does anyone truly find any credibility in anything he says, are there some of you still drinking his fool-ade?
When the time comes for this hack to get re-elected, send him packing. Can anyone tell me where the evidence is that the young voters are leaving the Tea Party, last I heard they realized that the obama marxist machine has already spent their legacy.
I do believe when lying hacks like megham mccain spew their bile of lies it eventually comes back on them, she is a clown, obama's useful tool/fool.

Everybody... Stop being blind. Think outside the proverbial box. We've been duped into this “right wing” “left wing” garbage. They tell us that there is a happy place right between 2 extremes. They teach us that it is like a pendulum that swings back and forth. They say on one side there is a communist dictatorship, and on the left side a fascist dictatorship. They mix truth with falsehood. There is a pendulum, but it doesn’t swing between the forms of dictatorships in the world… It swings back and forth between complete dictatorship and anarchy. Fascism and communism are both on the same side. They’re both dictatorships, and their promises are the same… Prosperity for nothing, and happiness through wickedness. They’ve moved the argument from how much government do you want, to what kind of a dictatorship do you want. I don’t want a dictatorship of any kind. I want to choose for myself. The honest debate is not which form of dictatorship or oligarchy do you want, but how much freedom do you want. Far “left wing” now supports complete governmental control. Far “right wing” supports anarchy. I consider myself closer to “right wing”, because I am for less government. I, like the founding fathers believe in the least amount of government needed to secure the basic rights of “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness”. Anything more or less that this eventually winds up in despotic monarchy.

Why is obama hiding :
His kindergarten records
His Punahou school records
His Occidental College records (which USJF has already subpoenaed)
His Columbia University records
His Harvard Law School records (where Supreme Court Justice Kagan could have divulged the records)
His Passport

Oh, but one more thing. The Democrats are upset with the US Chamber of Commerce is that they originally supported the stimulus and now they're --hypocritically, running ads denouncing it and supporting the Party of No.

Obama has made it abundantly clear, thru both word and deed, that no matter how massive the rejection of his Marxist agenda this November by the American people, that he will forcibly impose the balance of his planned agenda thru executive edict if he is stymied by the voice of the people acting thru their elected Representatives. If we are to preserve our Constitutional Republic from the subversive Obama onslaught, IMPEACHMENT is the only viable alternative. Greg Neubeck

Obama is quite simply an American Hugo Chavez. He is a socialist/marxist that wants to have the government own, run, and control everything in in our country.

The only problem is that darned constitution of ours won't allow it. The constitution will have to either go or be changed. Will the American people allow Obama to go through with his dirty little plan? Absolutely not. The only questions is will they stop him through the ballot box or will we have another civil war?

Even with massive gains in the upcoming election I'm afraid Obama's damage has been done.

The American people have figured out what Obama is all about and they don't like it one bit. Obama is amused, bemused and confused about his low poll numbers, and surprised that people are not flocking to elect Democrats for political office. He, in his arrogance and narcissism, does not understand that he is the culprit; his socialist policies have turned people off. Trotting around the country with Michelle in tow, will do nothing to help him and his ilk come November. And come January, Obama will have to dance to a totally different tune as his powers will be greatly curtailed.

@angriestdogintheworld
Are you kidding me? Obama was a conservative Democrat?
He was rated (by his voting record) as the second most LIBERAL senator in the US Senate with Joe Biden as third most liberal.
He got elected mostly on a platform of "Bush spent too much" and the Iraq war (Which also equates to spending). He then turned around and increased the deficit from about 200 billion to 1.3 trillion dollars. How do you justify that when you ran saying BUSH SPENT TOO MUCH? How is it that Obama can say, of the Bush budget, that "We cannot and will not sustain deficits like these without end." and then turn around and create an even bigger deficit?
He then turned around and pretended to withdraw troops from Iraq but in reality just sent them to Afghanistan. We have as many (or more) troops serving in the Middle East as we did during the bush administration and they are getting killed at a higher rate than the last two years of the Bush administration so how's that "Bring the Troops Home" thing going for you?
Obama in a campaign debate and in an interview prior to the election SPECIFICALLY said that he didn't think we needed to go so far as have a national healthplan. HE LIED.
OMG I hope you don't vote.

Ironic that Obama accuses the Chamber of Commerce of impropriety in campaign funding but then the Chamber of Commerce endorses 11 Democrats. So it was Dems that received "questionable" funds.
Also ironic that a lot of Obama money in the 2008 campaign was from foreign sources but he is accusing the Chamber of Commerce of this.
What a hypocrite.

Supposedly being "Gay" is something you are just born with. Sort of like being black or left handed. Oddly enough if you increase population pressure and a couple of other stressors in, say, a population of rats (OR humans) the incidence of it increases dramatically. Coloration and handedness don't change. Give it up, boys. It's a behavioural characteristic -- one that has many negative correlations -- and can be "treated" AKA "Changed" with a little insight and effort.
If sexual orientation couldn't be affected by education, propaganda and Skinner type "training" there wouldn't be such a co-ordinated push to increase it in the next generation. Fortunately they are using what we laughably call our "educational" establishment to do it. That being so we should soon be in 130th place in homosexuals just like math, reading and geography.

Who hides this kind of stuff? What's he HIDING in this paperwork? What is he AFRAID of? Place of BIRTH? His RELIGION? His Fulbright Scholarship. Why does he hide that paperwork? Is it because there's one for AMERICAN BORN citizens, and one for FOREIGN BORN. And, why hide the Medical Records? We KNOW that he's an EX-COKE HEAD. Let’s cut through ALL the political cr@p, propaganda and BS from everyone.
Here is undeniable fact #1.
The democrats/progressive/socialists have had control of the congress and senate for almost four full years. FOUR! They have also held the white house hostage for two of those four years. Have things gotten better or INFINITELY WORSE in those FOUR years? Things have definitely been going downhill for the last four, but we drove right over a cliff starting just about two years ago. 2+2 still equals four does it not? Even if realizing this fact, for some twisted reason you still feel compelled to support the democrat/progressives/socialists, down deep you do know the truth! Vote for America! Vote for the constitution! Do NOT for any democrat! CASE CLOSED

It is unfortunate that most people are driven by the last word they read or heard, when it comes to politics.

The diatribe by all parties is politics as usual but, what concerns me the most is the failure of the main stream media in not sorting out the wheat from the chaff. The media are just an extension of the politicians tirade. The politicians will never be open and non-partisan, so it has to be the media that sorts things out for the busy American's pre-occupied with day to day survival and having too little time to focus on the real issues longer than a sound bit or a headline.

The politics of the last two years is at best despicable and detrimental to the country at large and the media, in many respects, is compounding the problem.

My sides hurt from laughing so hard at Grahamnesty. Oh, what he says is true, it's just funny listening to a RINO say it. I don't know if he's up for re-election, but he's obviously reacting to the conservative surge. He's like the Mayor on the Andy Griffith show...he agrees with whatever is popular, and we're supposed to forget his liberal ideas and votes.

OPEN BORDERS, GLOBALIST, NEEEEEEW WORLD ORDER RINO'S ARE JUST AS MUCH TRAITORS AS OBAMA KEENYATTA AND PARSIN' CLINTON!

What is this half-witted RINO Grahamnesty (McMiniMe of Johnny McAmnesty-McCain) doing complaining about Obama's destruction of the United States when the RINO's have been helping him (and Parsin' Clinton before him) destroy our borders in violation of Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution, sell out our industrial base and military secrets to China, pass one-sided non-treaty treaties like NAFTA (so-called "free" trade), involve us in no-win wars all over the planet while letting 30+ MILLION illegals (BUT NO TERRORISTS?!) invade us, and let the Deemocrat and Republican't organized crime families who have infiltrated our government rape and pillage our country with impunity! Watch the stupid RINO's Grahamnesty and McAmnesty "reach across the aisle" to Obamnesty and the Dead Duck Deemocrats in December, give amnesty to the illegals in violation of the 1986 Amnesty Agreement, and 30 million illegals will become 100 million! They will also join together in "bipartisanship" to pass so-called cap and trade "reform" and our economy will NEVER recover. But it will give polluters India and China, who can't believe their good fortune, some laughs.

Bilderberg Bush, Parsin' Clinton, LBJ Bushamnesty, and now Obamnesty, YOU ARE ALL TRAITORS! SHAMELESS TRAITORS!

You guys all but call him a traitor (and many actually do) and then you blame him for the divisiveness? Puhleeze.

You accuse him of being a wimp and then whine when he fights for what he believes in. "Waaaah, he's being divisive". Gag.

I absolutely love the quote from Abraham Lincoln that a prior commenter posted on this article's comment section: "Our safety, our liberty, depends upon preserving the Constitution of the United States as our fathers made it inviolate. The people of the United States are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution. "
~ Abraham Lincoln

The American People have been hoodwinked by their leaders, but more so by the Democratic party. The Democratic Party seems intent on making every poor foreigner a U.S. citizen in order to secure their future votes for the Democratic Party in exchange for unlimited social welfare benefits. Why do you think that so many Mexicans stream across the border every day? It's not for work, America's job market is dead. It's for the free benefits. I'm praying that it won't take a collapse of the dollar to "wake America up", but it's looking like that's going to happen no matter what. @angie12106- I concur with your assessment regarding the receipt of campaign funds. Let's put the media on hold and talk people to people? Mty stance is I believe in "Hand-Ups," not "Hand-Outs" and I think we are on the same path, just in "violent agreement" as to which road to take, but the destination is the same termination point.

My bone to pick, be it Democrat or Republican is that the Obama Campaign never disclosed the sources of income or was subjected to an audit.

Obama promised an audit and to take matching campaign funds, but changed course and has still compiled a slew of money, but has yet to account for it.

If there is one thing I am sure we can agree on is accountability, responsibility, our elected officials seeing things through and making effective and fair compromises, for what's in the best interests of the people.

If I was running for office, I would want to disclose my source of funding. Some politicans choose not to because of what happened with Propostion 8 (the allowing of homosexuals to enter into a state reconized marriage), in California. After the names were released, of the pro-Prop 8 contributors, an overt campaign against these contributor. Because of the chilling effect of this law, their businesses was conducted, to the point where business was interrupted and people who were friends, became bitter with each other.

Surely there is an answer to this issue.

Note: Sometimes we may respectfully disagree upon the latter (interests), but at least we will work out a fair compromise!!!

Obama is the most divisive President in modern history. As a community organizer and anti-colonialist, Obama has characterized his life by dividing people. Now, he is suffering the results of that legacy. Americans are, by-in-large very caring and tolerant people. We want to see the goodness in people, what we deem as the commonality. Obama is busy pointing out differences and demonizing individuals and classes of individuals as he tries to destroy institutions and the American way. He will fail.

Tyranny is tyranny regardless if it originates from a king, dictator, parliament, congress, or the will of a majority (a democracy)!

In our Constitutional Republic form of government the rights of the minority given to us by God Almighty (even if it's a minority of one) supersedes the will of government!

The USA was fundamentally and radically changed with the ratification of the 16th and 17th Amendments to the US Constitution!

The root cause of our current problems which includes poverty, illegal immigration, runaway government spending, Iraq, Afghanistan, and so on. Is the direct result of The US Government of 1913. With the ratification of the 16th and 17th Amendments of the US Constitution. We went from a nation of states that created and was in control of a Central Government. To a nation of states that is controlled by a Central Government. Almost 100 years have past since their ratification. We need to take a good hard look at the ramification of these two Amendments.

There will be no resolution of any kind that will make any difference until we REPEAL the 16th and 17th Amendments!

With The repeal of the 16th Congress then will be restricted to lay taxes according to Article 1 of the US Constitution.

The Constitution divides all taxes into two classes: direct and indirect. Article I, Section 8, Clause 1 grants the federal government its power to impose taxes:

"The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defense and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States."

The above section is limited by Article I, Section 2, Clause 3:

"Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States…."

And Article I, Section 9, Clause 4:

"No Capitation, or other direct Tax, shall be laid, unless in Proportion to the Census or Enumeration…."

As contemplated by the Founders, direct taxes were required to be levied according to the rule of apportionment while indirect taxes were required to be levied according to the rule of uniformity. Thus, anytime Congress attempted to impose a direct tax; it was required to apportion the tax among the States according to the rule of apportionment.

With the repeal of the 17th US Senators would then be selected and have to answer to each state legislators. To which every state would share equal power over the Federal Government! Thous makes your local State Legislator responsible for every bill passed to the President for His signature.

Let me offer a response to the hysterical antics of 'kingcranky' - First, I don't understand how after all the calls for tolerance and diversity, the Hard Left has resoted to attacking grassroots political activism using a slur for homosexuals. Anderson Cooper, over at CNN, didn't mind using it, but I thought the Left supported the radical homosexual agenda. As to the Constitution, you didn't cite any "easily-debunked" (why the hyphen?) and I'd like to cite a few examples to test your claim. 1) One example is that Aritcle One, Section Eight of the Constitution limited the Federal Government to 20 enumerated powers or areas and the Tenth Amendment delegated all other powers to the states and the people. Thomas Jefferson considered the Tenth Amendment the cornerstone of our Constitution. This would essentially mean that the vast majority of Government entitlements, departments, agencies, and spending are unconstitutional. 2) Another area of the Constitution would be the First Amendment, with respect to "Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion." Congress is the legislative branch of the Federal Government and has no bearing on the states. In fact, some of the thirteen states had what you might call an establishment of religion. This language has been misconstrued and used to wipe out and and all expression Judeo-Christian values in the public square. 3) The Second amendment guarantees the right to bear arms, an amendment frequently ignored by the Left. Before you go on arguing that this applied only to militias and then, misconstrue this as meaning the same thing as the national guard, try reading what the founders actually said and the amendment does the "right of the people." 4) I would also throw in the 14th amendment with regard to the children of illegal immigrants being given citizenship.

As to the claims regarding warrantless wiretapping, torture, indefinite detention, and the suspension of habeaus corpus - I do not condone any of those at face value. I will briefly say that the Constitution does not apply to al-Qaeda/Taliban fighters captured on the battlefield in Afghanistan and that the Geneva Convention doesn't protect them. The Bill of Rights applies to American citizens. Besides, the whole idea that the Left is furious and indignant because some Jihadists recieved waterboarding, forced nudity, or were deprived of sleep is mildly amusing and absurd. Why don't you wait till they resort to what till they do as many Arab countries do using electrocution, beating them with lead pipes, starvation, or something that we can really call harsh before you get all bent out of shape. I would remind you that these Islamo-Fascists are quite worse than the nazis in their desire to conquer all the capitals of the world and to exterminate all infidels. Email me for more..

WOW OsamasPajamas...great posts.

I have to disagree with you on one issue though. "it is a constabulary ". The federal government should not be a constabulary over individual states. It is (or should be) an "overseer" of the whole union. However, it has encroached on too many state's rights or taken them away altogether.

Conversely, state's have bartered away their sovereignty for the sake of federal money. All those pork barrel monies are nothing more than blackmail the feds use to gain more and more control over individual states. The federal government has become bigger because of this.

Right now, the government is a runaway train and needs to be curtailed. This won't happen until we get some decent, sincere, honest people running for office.

Kingcranky; if your litany of utter nonsense is the best you have, you need to go back to researching constitutional violations.

I had a good laugh at your examples of the 5th, 6th, and 8th constitutional violations. Obviously, you have not heard of the differences between "enemy combatants", "unlawful combatants" and "mercenaries". Might want to bone up on the Geneva Conventions too.

Comparing Tea Party people to the Taliban is really an ignorant comment and is nothing more than typical leftist ranting.

If you are so worried about national security policies, take a look at the increases Obamao has put in place. The amount of snooping Obamao and Holder are conducting on private citizens is insidious. It is even worse than the McCarthy crap that went one. And it is not only constitutional violations, it is criminal activity since neither have authority to conduct their spying. Literally 1,000's of Americans are being contacted by SS or FBI for merely speaking out against this flim flam artist in the oval office. NO threats, just harsh criticisms of this clown are being investigated DAILY. You have heard of the 1st Amendment? Not only does it include freedom of speech, but also the right to assemble AND protest.

It is liberals like you "cranky" that give all liberals a reeeeeally bad rap.

What this country needs is a truly LIBERAL president and congress and judiciary! And I forgive the reader for suspecting that this must be some kind of bad joke!

But the Democrats believe in "statism" --- not "liberalism."

They benefit from the imprecise American political terminology ---- we say "the government" here in the USA ---- rather than "the state." And that's a dangerous problem. Famous brands of statism in recent centuries have been Nazism, socialism, fascism, communism, and welfare statism ---- this last is sort of a mix of fascism and socialism.

Liberalism, on the other hand, is a political philosophy of small, cheap government ---- it is a constabulary ---- and the job of a liberal government is to enforce human rights within its own jurisdiction. I speak of the unalienable and perfectly-natural and universally-valid human rights of life, liberty, private property, and the pursuit of personal happiness.

The first article of private property is "the self" and all other rights are derivatives of and flow from these cardinal rights. These rights ---- The Rights of Man ---- are the gift of nature or of nature's god ---- and they belong to all human beings, everywhere.

Show me a Democrat who subscribes to all of the above, without qualifications or weasel words. The words "liberal" and "liberalism" were hijacked by the Democrats and socialists and fascists long ago ---- and it was the mistake of conservatives and libertarians to let them get away with it.

It is long past time that liberalism be reclaimed, defined, and explained by its rightful owners ---- by the champions of freedom, i.e.: not by Democrats.

Well, how about "progressivism?" Whuzzat?! “Cancer” is “progressive,” too. Isn't “progressivism” just another statist cancer? It chews you up, piece by piece, in the name of Da Peepul? Eat Da Rich? Moral cannibalism, anyone?

Friends of freedom! Friends of peace-through-strength! And friends of prosperity! Declare yourselves to be "liberals," then ---- and kick over the bloody coffee tables --- and overthrow and trounce the Democrats in 2010 and 2012!

SAM ADAMS IS MORE THAN JUST A GREAT YANKEE BEER!

TAX HATER SAMUEL ADAMS, ON A ROLL AND ARMED TO THE TEETH, AUGUST, 1776……

"You darkeners of counsel, who would make the property, lives and religion of millions depend on the evasive interpretations of musty parchments; who would send us to antiquated charters of uncertain and contradictory meaning, to prove that the present generation are not bound to be victims to cruel and unforgiving despotism, tell us whether our pious and generous ancestors bequeathed to us the miserable privilege of having the rewards of our honesty, industry, the fruits of those fields which they purchased and bled for, wrested from us at the will of men over whom we have no check.

"Contemplate the mangled bodies of your countrymen, and then say, What should be the reward of such sacrifices? Bid us and our posterity bow the knee, and supplicate the friendship, and plough, and sow, and reap, to glut the avarice of the men who have let loose on us the dogs of war to riot in our blood and hunt us from the face of the earth? If you love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom – go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

“Courage, then, my countrymen, our contest is not only whether we ourselves shall be free, but whether there shall be left to mankind an asylum on earth for civil and religious liberty. Dismissing, therefore, the justice of our cause, as incontestable, the only question is, What is best for us to pursue in our present circumstances?”

“It does not take a majority to prevail….but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.”

“Among the natural rights of the colonists are these: first a right to life, secondly to liberty, and thirdly to property; together with the right to defend them in the best manner they can.”

“The Constitution shall never be construed… to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms.”

OhBummer is a b00b and a fool for attacking the American Tea Partiers. He is annoyed that they’re not grateful to him for hijacking the American healthcare system --- the greatest act of vandalism perpetrated upon the American people since a gang of jihadi frootloops and loonytoons hijacked some planes and crashed them into the World Trade Center towers, and the Pentagon, and made a failed attempt to crash into the White House and instead drilled a hole in a Pennsylvania farm thanks to some very courageous American passengers.

And --- now widely seen for what he is --- the president presents a problem for the Democrat-captured media. They pump out his propaganda for him --- and, like the opinion monitors in Ayn Rand’s novel, “Atlas Shrugged” --- they are dodging brickbats and rotten vegetables.

He’s pompous, pampered, and pretentious --- a pseudo-intellectual fop. He’s a glorified, smooth-lyin’ dandy, and slicker than Sick Willie Clinton. He’s a dictator-on-the-make, a bloodsxcking, predatory humanitarian thug, and a low-down skunk.

He’s a fraud and a swindler. He lies when he inhales and he lies when he exhales; his oxygen is the falsification of reality. He lies, placidly and laconically, as if deception were a soporific drug.

He’s a friend of the poor and the downtrodden --- indeed, you can hear the milk of human kindness sloshing around inside of him when he walks.

He declares himself the post-racial leader --- “Let me be clear!” he intones --- and he hides behind his race, daring his critics to put their reputation for fairness at risk.

He pauses to ponder the portent of his propaganda --- and it is fakery; he smiles and his mendacity comes shining through. Shake hands with Barak Hushpuppy OhBummer --- “The Mistake of ‘08” --- the illegal alien squatter in the White House --- and America’s first and last Arab president. Now count your fingers.

The Democrats have this "enemies list" --- denominated in epithets aimed at the people whose wallets they wish to hijack and take up residence inside. You can be a “Racist!” and you can be a “Homophobe!” and you can be a “Teabagger!” --- a homosexual man taking his partner’s scrotum into his mouth. You can be “Selfish!” and you can be a “Hick!” and you can be a “Rube!” You can be a “Right-wing-nut!” and you can be a “Warmonger!” and you can be "Unenlightened!" and you can be a “Fascist!” --- although no one more closely approaches the precise description of “Fascist!” than the usual Demo propagandist --- either official, or self-appointed.

So all you have to do to occupy multiple epithets on the Demos’ enemies list is to insist that they take their hands off yourself, off your wallet, off your property, off your kids, off your diet, off your healthcare, off your household appliances, off your car, off your bank account, off your weapons of self-defense, off your liberty, and off your freedom of speech. Insist on all these good things - and that qualifies you to be spat upon by nasty, mean-spirited scum --- by The Friends of All Mankind --- by a gang of lying, thieving, dope-smoking, coke-snorting, sticky-fingered, bloodsxcking, tax-eating, gun-stealing, predatory humanitarian thugs --- by the Democrat party, in other words. No political party in the history of America more profoundly deserves absolute and outright destruction.

Pleeeeze - this President is no Democrat - neither are many of his inner circle - and some of the members of Congress - or the folks that DONATE to his party.
This President is something we have never seen before - he is an angry, bitter, child - spewing more digusting, senseless, dangerous remarks than Americans have ever seen before - his D and R comments, his over the cliff comments - HE - Barack Obama - is the one taking us over the cliff.
He is no Democrat - he is something strange and frankly frightening and disgusting.
He thinks "we the people" are idiots.
We are a right leaning country - however; many, many Americans in the course of their lifetime, have voted for people from both parties - Barack Obama - you are no Democrat - you certainly do mean to fundamentally change America - and not for the better.

google is your friend.....McCain and Obama RETURNED donations from foreigners!"

Uhmmm angie, once again you have failed. Many of the donations were anonymous and impossible to return. Second; Obamao returned only a SMALL portion (for appearances sake) and that so called "return" was a donation to a charity with a far left, liberal bent. The majority of the money he kept and used.

Don't forget Hillary also had a nice little system going as well. Remember the Chinese family just south of SF? They were laundering money into her campaign by the truck load...until they were outed.

"CIA operations officer Frederick W. Rustmann Jr. and a team of international forensic accounting experts to comb through Obama’s donor list to identify those who apparently aren’t U.S. citizens or residents. Rustmann, a 24 year veteran field officer, operates CTC International Group Ltd., a West Palm Beach, Fla., firm that provides business intelligence services and analysis.

Using sophisticated Internet search tools, fee-based data bases, and other public records, CTC attempted to identify Social Security numbers and U.S. addresses connected to the Obam a donors. Most of these donors gave obvious overseas addresses when they made their donations, but the Obama campaign had no security screen to detect them".

Obamao received 10's of millions in foreign donations that he KEPT.

"Hillary and McCain demanded proof of citizenship of all their donors,” Rustmann said. “Obama did not, so he benefitted by receiving an enormous amount of money from foreign donors who wanted to influence the U.S. election process.”

Hillary only started demanding AFTER the SF/Chinese debacle.

Oh, btw angie, most of Obamao's foregin money came from Muslims or predominantly Muslim countries. Explain that away.

Google that angie. Or go to MacPac08.

"Considering the HUGE 35,000 Dem rally in Ohio tonight -"

I have a friend that was there and she said the number is waaaaay off. True to form with this egomaniac Obamao, the numbers always get inflated. Wasn't even close to 35,000. This has been a common hype (lie) of the Obamao camp.

"I don't ever remember Republicans running on a positive agenda - they're always focused on {{{fearmongering}}} and vewy scawy boogeymen."

LOL angie. Have you looked at the hatred the dems are spewing? Not to mention the racism Obamao and his ilk have been spewing. I have never witnessed such unbridled racism in my entire life as what I have seen in the past 2 yrs.

Reading these comments from easily-debunked, hypocritical teabaggers whine about how we liberals are attacking the Constitution is a real hoot, considering how these same blithering idiots cheered the Bush Jr/Cheney Administration's shredding of our Constitution with policies such as:

Warrantless spying on US citizens and our purely domestic communications-violation of the 4th Amendment

Torture as official US policy-violation of the 5th and 8th Amendments

Indefinite detention-violation of the 6th and 8th Amendments

Suspension of habeas corpus-violation of the 8th Amendment

You teabagger loonies were either silent when these Executive Branch power grabs at the expense of our Constitution took place or, even worse, you cheered them on with a hearty "good job President Bush, way to stick it to those terrorists and dirty hippy liberals".

As a Liberal, I don't trust ANY President with these unchecked powers, which makes me immediately more legitimate than the teabagger Taliban types now whining that it may be their turn under the Obama Administration's "national security" microscope, especially since they seemed to forget that any incoming President has access to the same powers as the outgoing one.

That the teabaggers and their office-holding lackeys haven't called for the immediate repeal of the Bush Jr/Cheney Administration's national security policies now wielded by Obama is very telling, and what it says is that they don't actually believe all that malarkey about Obama wanting to round them up, take away their guns or destroy this country, while at the same time it shows how the irrationally-irate teabaggers love fascism, unchecked power at the very top.

The previous Administration said that terrorists "hate our freedoms".

Teabaggers, since you refused to stick up for the Constitution during the Bush Jr/Cheney Administration, how does it feel knowing you're on the same side as "freedom hating terrorists" like bin Laden, al-Qaeda and the Taliban?

Ultra-extremist, right-wing policies are exactly why our country and Constitution are hurting so badly right now, as these policies only shrink the middle and working classes while increasing the number of people living in poverty.

Want an example of how this is NOT a "center-right" country?

Ask people if they think corporations and industries have too little, or too much, influence on our political system, and whether government should crack down on corporate malfeasance as hard as possible.

Take a guess at which answers are given far more often.

"Bennet also defended his vote for the stimulus, saying that the stimulus "saved us from going into the second Great Depression."

No it did NOT save us from a depression. It did nothing more than payback a lot of favors. A typical political ploy, except this is the most flagrant and expensive payback in America's history....and at taxpayer's expense. There is not ONE shred of documentation of where ALL the money went. It did NOT help America or unemployment or the average citizen.

"White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs also appeared on the show. He predicated that Democrats will retain control of the House and Senate this November, a reversal from his projection over the summer that Democrats could lose the House. He also said that Democratic candidates have done "a remarkably good job in a tough political environment."

Gibbs is an utter fool. I swear he doesn't have the brains the good Lord gave a gnat. His predictions are just hype. Like all lies or subliminal conditioning, say it long enough and people will start to believe it.

We are in an election season where being a democrat or republican is not so much the issue as is the issue of ....do you want to live under a tyrannical ruler? Do you want to live with a congress that continually violates the constitution? Do you want to see more and more taxation?

Truly, the politicians like Peloser, Reid, Obamao, etc., are not democrats. They are died in the wool socialists and Marxists. They are not friends of our great Republic. They are, in fact, outright enemies to our freedom. Throw in Graham and McCain because they are equally responsible. They are weak, pandering fools who have voted along socialist lines against their constituent's wishes.

The new ones that may be elected need their feet held to the fire. They don't do their job right, they will be a ONE term congressman or senator. We keep cleaning house every 2 and 4 yrs until the politicians get the message; "BY the people, FOR the people and OF the people". Not the other way around.

White House Senior Adviser David Axelrod renewed the Democratic argument against outside groups' non-disclosure of donors, saying, "If people don't disclose, there's a reason."
------------------------
David,

Let's talk about all of those foreign pre-paid credit cards that were used to donate money to the Obama Campaign. Let's talk about the Palestinain brothers that bundled $25k in donations to the Obama Campaign.

How about the various front or special interest groups of John Podesta, the AFL-CIO, La Raza, CASA de Maryland, ACORN, UNITE Here, SEIU and the list is endless.

David, no amount of "spin" is going to help your man. If Obama spent more time doing his "Day Job," instead of shooting hoops, golfing, vacationing, doing photo ops or campaigning, he might get some respect. The other thing he needs to do is quit his whining and do the job he is taked to do- reduce unemployment and restore prosperity to this nation, not do a government take-over and pass out money like it's candy at Halloween.

Graham has absolutely no room to talk. He has pandered to Obamao for over 2yrs. He might as well change his party title NOW to dem, he acts like one.

Who cares what an empty talking head like Mehgan McCain says? I've never heard that girl say anything remotely intelligent. Trying to ride into political venues on daddy's coattails is a big mistake since McCain is such a pandering wimp too.

As for Sen. McCaskel? Puhleeeeeeeeeese....the woman is a consummate liar. I've watched her in action at a town hall meeting. How the people of Missouri can stand her is beyond me. Oh wait, Missouri is the state that elected a dead man (Carnahan) and then gave the seat to his widow.

Do people like Axelrod really hear the rubbish they spew? Do they not understand how utterly ignorant they sound? Axelrod, Holder, Obamao, Peloser and the rest of their smarmy ilk have conducted the most secretive administration in America's history. Their idea of "transparency" is definitely clouded.

If you look at what Obamao hasn't accomplished, you will understand why America is further in the tank. You can't rob Peter to pay Paul. You can't spend your way out of debt. That is what this administration has done.

In addition to taking over or controlling private industry, the medical field, banking, media, this administration had hindered the 1st Amendment, attempted to do away with the 2nd Amendment and violated any number of Amendments in the Constitution.

Then there are the many violations of our own laws the government violates on a daily basis. Not enforcing immigration being one of the largest issues. NO, we do not need ANY reform. We need to enforce the laws we have instead of making yet another one to facilitate a personal agenda. When the AG himself, doesn't allow law enforcement to do their lawful job, he has committed "obstruction of justice". When he AND Obama have decided to let criminals like the Black Panthers off on federal violations of our election laws, that is misuse of power and also a federal crime. The list is endless of the violations this administration committs DAILY.

This Socialist/Marxist rampage cannot be allowed to continue. Only, we the citizens, can stop the growing government tyranny.

Who would be surprised ? That has been his plan from the beginning - unfortunately most democrat voters don't read or write so they have no idea what their candidates believe... VOTE the RATS out of D.C. We The People will have to VOTE Republican because the demoRATS have $Billions that they've stolen from taxpayers (stimulus $ etc. ) to put in their coffers under anyone's name - just as obama did in 2008 - They have a.c.o.r.n. and Thugs in every precinct to stuff the ballot boxes. AND they have millions of "zombies" who vote democrat for no other reason than "always have - always will..." My hope is that the anti-God, anti-American, anti-Life, anti-Marriage, Marxist/Communist, Intolerant, Lying, Racist, democratic party will be completely destroyed by 2012....If it is not destroyed, The American "Dream" will turn into a nightmare (which is obama's hope for change) - - Once the Republicans are a majority We The People will have to take out the RATpublicans (there are quite a few) OR start a Conservative Constitution Party

I must say that I am deeply disappointed in Rice. I strongly believe that at this point there is no intellectually honest way to support Obama’s policies. They are simply wholly destructive to the US. Therefore, it appears that race truly is the deciding factor, or worse yet a combination of race and personal ambition, for Rice to approve of Obama’s agenda. This is a very sad day!

What irks me is hearing these democrats now saying they are against Pelosi and Reid along with the Obama agenda. Where have they been the last 18 months? Why were they not out there opposing it then. Every congressmen or senator who supported Obama's agenda need to be voted out. Come January, all senators and congressmen who continue to mislead America need to be tossed out, whether republican or democrat. In fact, I would go so far as to support term limits on them.

Real man like Obama? Oh please! Obama's the biggest flake that has ever held the office. He's a total pussy and can never own up to anything. Listen loser (ses4) just because other politicians are corrupt does make Obama any good. Grow up and get your head out of your party-line butt.

So you are just now coming to that realization after you voted for a lot of his policies?
Disenginuous is not even close to the word we should use to describe Graham. Hiding your poor decisions in the haze of "bipartisanship" is a patent lie.
Graham has been a parge part of the problem in Washington, please don't let him blow smoke up your skirts enough to think he can be part of the solution.

Why doesn't someone from the GOP say what one reason for privacy in disclosure is. Because leftist, liberal, lunatic, SEIU and thugs mobilize their troops and buss them to the door step, with bullhorns, of those that donate. Don't give me some argument, those people are nuts and everyone knows it.

as far as I'm concerned Lindsey Graham is as much of a Socialist as Obama is... I don't care if they are both gay and pull anal beads out of each others butth0les...

Sen Graham is WAY WAY WAY beyond RINO... and I don't listen to him anymore because he is a lyin' sack of crap like our POTUS....

... SO YOU CAN BOTH... "SUCK IT" !!!!

I almost spit my drink all over the monitor when I read about Axelrod claiming that the Democrats care deeply about disclosure. Really? Like disclosing what was in the healthcare bill before voting on it? Like disclosing the Presidents university and medical records? Like disclosing the histories of Obamas Tzars? Yep, more bull from the most ethical administration in history. Ha ha ha

Does anyone have the guts to out Senator Graham? Everyone knows he is gay - Not that this is a problem, except for the fact of his hypocritical stance on certain conservative social issues.

The point here being, how can anyone take anything this guy says seriously? He is not even true to his own kind. He has no principles whatsoever, yet he feels he can criticize President Obama. Say what you want, the President is confident in his principles. Senator Graham could learn a lot from a real man like President Obama.

These are the same old "Rethuglican" lies that said the Stimulus did not save jobs.

Republicans, Democrats who criticized stimulus wrote letters seeking funds

Rep. Pete Sessions, the firebrand conservative from Texas, has relentlessly assailed the Democratic stimulus efforts as a package of wasteful "trillion-dollar spending sprees" that was "more about stimulating the government and rewarding political allies than growing the economy and creating jobs."

But that didn't stop the Republican lawmaker from seeking stimulus money behind the scenes for the Dallas suburb of Carrollton after the GOP campaign against the 2009 stimulus law quieted down.

This is what happens when the priorities of the public, are not the priorities of the administration. Vote them out!

Say what? "Taking over most of society"??? What delusions. Give me a list of what's been taken over by Obama - and the GOP/Tea Party's losing of their minds doesn't count. What have I lost? What's been taken from me? Come on - alphebetize it, prioritize it, stream of consciousness, however you list -- I need to see this.

How will voters react to the Palin inspired Tea Party plan to end Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security in one fell swoop within one year of power?

I'd say Cheney turned over the Bush administration over to the far reicht ideologues and they weren't even elected. Obama is a conservative Democrat who ran on Healthcare reform and shutting down torture as an identifier of national identity.

Heterosexuals like myself understand that some other people are homosexual. Bisexuals like Ken Buck always assume that the rest of us must be bisexual as well and have a choice just as they do. Simply not true.
