Texas A&M warns of 'armed subject' on campus as Bushes visit
UPDATE 6:36 P.M.: BreakingNews now saying the gun 'suspect' is a member of Texas A&M Corps of Cadets (similar to ROTC) who was walking with his rifle.
Texas A&M's website reports:
"All Clear. Person with replica weapon identified. No danger. Resume normal activity." The man was apparently carrying a plastic M-16 training rifle.

Texas A&M University authorities sent out a campuswide alert Thursday at 4 p.m. CT after an "armed subject" was spotted near one of the main buildings on campus, CNN reports. Former President George W. Bush, along with Laura Bush and Barbara Bush, are scheduled to be at the George Bush Presidential Library for a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday evening, which is on the A&M campus. According to NBC (via BreakingNews) the suspect has been detained.
KBTX is reporting that the gunman has an AK-47. Their description of the shooter: A white male in olive or green shirt and shorts, wearing a backpack.
Students were advised to "shelter in place" through the University's "code maroon" system.
