Tim Pawlenty's new book cover looks familiar

By Karen Tumulty and Matt DeLong

Outgoing Minnesota governor and potential 2012 presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty (R) is releasing the obligatory pre-campaign book introducing him to the electorate. But something about it looks awfully familiar:

Pawlenty told Politics Daily's Matt Lewis that the similarities are "coincidental."

Have you seen similar book covers? Let us know in the comments, and we'll try to find them.

You find many of these me-me puff books in Ollies Bargain Store, piles of them going for $2.98. These phony patriots who have books ghosted in their names, extolling their virtues, love to wrap themselves in the flag, call themselves patriots, saying God's name always and painting themselves as "real" Americans, are truly no more than egotists who can't get enough of themselves. I'm amazed that they all don't wear one-way eyeglasses mirrored so they are always looking at themselves.
They have no good or intelligent or progress-driven ideas to help this nation and its citizens. They just want celebrity and wealth. Palin has not offered one comprehensive plan to improve anything at all. She is just a harebrain full of straw blowing hot air by smearing people far more educated, accomplished, moral, and empathetic to those in this country who are suffering. Pawlenty just wants to be somebody big. He and Palin should team up and ask BAchman if they can carry her water while she heads up the Taliban Teabagging Hyena party.

What seems obvious to me is that this is a trend in the publishing industry to have the central characters appear this way.

I'm sure it is the publisher who chooses the photographer and the cover page for the book.

"Minnesota Nice". In Tim's case it is a me, me, me thing.

Find me a cover of a Roosevelt book. Tim looks like he's trying to puff himself up to rough-rider proportions. And that's not a log cabin joke. Really.

So what's the deal with Pawlenty's legs? No one in the media ever discussed this as far as I know. He had polio or something? Or really bad bunions?

Observer691 is wrong. Silly! The Committee to Elect Tim Pawlenty will buy lots and lots of copies, once the committee is formed.

After 8 years of destroying the economy of the State of Minnesota, Pawlenty should
slip under a rock and stay there. Or
crawl into a hole - whatever works best
for this idiot.

Pawlenty is a total loser, was an absentee
governor of the State of Minnesota for
the better part of his second term, and
lied, lied and lied to make himself look
good.

He, like failin Palin, and the rest of the
Republican nut jobs, is not qualified to
be elected to any office. Pawlenty
won his second term because of an independent candidate who took votes away from the Democratic candidate. Pawlenty,
without independent candidate, would not
have won.

Bottom line: Pawlenty is a total loser
who does not know his backside from page
one!

Suggestion: buy comic books, not Pawlenty's piece of crap

Ted Kennedy's True Compass may have a similar cover, but it was his account of 50+ years in public life. It was published shortly after he died in 2009, so was not campaign linked.

One difference: No one will buy this book.
