Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton's spokesman P.J. Crowley resigned Sunday, just days after publicly criticizing the detention conditions of Bradley Manning, the Army private accused of leaking reams of classified information to WikiLeaks.

Live: Senate Armed Services hearing

Wednesday's hearings before the Senate Armed Services Committee will highlight the careful balancing act President Obama attempted Tuesday night in announcing his troop increase in Afghanistan--a boost of 30,000, faster than expected, but a withdrawal target starting in summer 2011.
