Eric Cantor: House debate on government funding bill could stretch past Thursday

Debate and votes on House Republicans' plan to continue funding the federal government could stretch past Thursday, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) announced in a memo Wednesday afternoon.

'Mission accomplished' banner may go up in Bush library

The infamous banner that hung behind George W. Bush during his May 1, 2003 declaring the end of combat operations in Iraq might be hung in his presidential library, USA Today reports.

Republican chairman's race: Who's in the running (Updated)

Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele has yet to formally announce whether he will seek a second two-year term, but that has not stopped others from openly declaring that they will run against him or hinting at their intention to do so.

Obama warns of hidden corporate money in midterm campaigns

VINEYARD HAVEN, Mass. -- President Obama warned voters Saturday about the hidden influence of corporate donations in midterm campaigns after a Supreme Court decision this year that allows companies, unions and other special interests to spend unlimited amounts of money on behalf of candidates and causes for the first time.
