Duncan and Britt

Lots of people have been speculating that Montgomery County Executive Doug Duncan and state Sen. Gwendolyn Britt would get together for an announcement, but this wasn't it.
Duncan, who's seeking the Democratic nomination for governor, appeared in neighboring Prince George's County today to lend his support to Britt's plans to introduce legislation for more money for school libraries. Brittt (D) twice reminded the crowd--made up of students, reporters and educators--that the county executive has had made education his top priority.
Britt remains on the short list of possible candidates for lieutenant governor on a Duncan ticket. But Britt was sure to make clear that everyone knew this morning's event was "about the children." The students from a 10th grade government class, after all, had proposed the legislation to her. Under the legislation, the state would provide matching funds to counties to upgrade libary media centers.
