Family Values

Democrats Martin O'Malley and Douglas M. Duncan have put television commercials for their gubernatorial bids up on the air, but Republican Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. continues to wait.

Still, Ehrlich is not staying silent. In addition to keeping his hour-long Saturday radio show on WBAL, Ehrlich had his campaign send out an e-mail to supporters last week with an endorsement video from first lady Kendel Ehrlich.

The first lady is viewed as a crucial asset to the governor, especially among female voters. In the video, Kendel Ehrlich calls her husband "the best example for my children" and repeatedly refers to their family. "We're doing what other people are doing," she says. "We're raising our children, just like everybody else."
