Money Questions in the 4th

U.S. Rep. Albert R. Wynn (D-Md.), on the defensive for months for fundraising from corporate interests, has gone on the attack.
Yesterday, his campaign manager filed a 34-count complaint with the Federal Election Commission, arguing Prince George's attorney Donna F. Edwards has illegally coordinated her efforts with independent groups that support her election. Edwards immediately rejected the allegations.
Read more about the complaint here.

the Post reported on January 24 that 86% of Donna Edward's contributions come from out of state. She thinks Maryland's Congressional seats should be bought and sold on a national congressional seat exchange. I don't. This seat belongs to Maryland voters, not to those calling tunes from other states. People serve in office like they campaign. She will not be serving the people of Maryland if elected.

Robin,
You don't live the 4th District. You left the Democratic party. You left the Republican party. You never come to events in this District. You got your fact wrong -- again. So what makes you think that those of us who did live there care what you think????
Please leave and don't let the door hit you when you do.

Look Donna Edwards, or MidCoMaven, or what ever you want to call yourself. I was born in Montgomery County and have been interested in local politics ever since I was a Post delivery boy in 1954. I don't remember anybody running for Congress in Montgomery County ever getting 86% of their contributions from out of state as Edwards has done. Maryland's Congressional seats are not for sale to anyone outside Maryland. I wrote a Masters Thesis on campaign financing. He who pays the piper calls the tune. Stop lying. Go back and look at the Post's January 24 article about Edwards which says 86% of her contributions are from out of state. Who is Edwards? She never served in the state legislature where we could observe her.

Well, Robin, we've had 15 years to "observe" Al Wynn, and he sucks. No interest whatsoever in his constituents, a host of bad votes (Iraq, energy, campaign finance, estate tax, bankruptcy bill, the list goes on).
And I assure you, those of us who have had the misfortune to "observe" you (whether in politics, in the courtroom (yikes!) or generally acting like an ass), can certainly speak to this point: you have no authority, none whatsoever, to speak about ANYTHING. You're a crank, a loon, and a misfit. If you say the sun is shining, I'm going outside to check before I rely on it, because you're just not a reliable source.

You are attacking the messenger, not the message. Why has Donna Edwards gotten 86% of her contributions from outside Maryland? Put up or shut up. This hasn't happened in 50 years in Maryland. This seat belongs to Marylanders.

Hey Ros,
How much does it cost to have you write an article? It would be good to know in the future in case I want to mislead voters too.
Just let me know,
Thanks,
Mark
