Md. Obama Supporters Head to Ohio

Coimptroller Peter Franchot (D) and other Maryland supporters of Illinois Sen. Barack Obama's presidential bid are heading to Ohio this weekend to campaign for him before that state's primary on Tuesday, the Associated Press reports.

One of the group, Del. Curt Anderson (D-Baltimore) told the AP that 44 Obama supporters from Maryland plan to spend the weekend in Ohio. The lawmakers were to leave Maryland this afternoon. Franchot will go to Columbus, and some lawmakers to Youngstown.

In the Potomac Primary on Feb. 12, Obama beat Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) in Maryland with nearly 60 percent of the vote.
