Coming Up in Maryland Politics
Coming up in Maryland politics this week:
STATE GOVERNMENT
Today is the deadline in the General Assembly for bills to clear at least one of the two chambers. The "crossover day" is typically one of the busiest of the 90-day session. Any bill that is not passed by one chamber has to overcome additional procedural hurdles to be considered before the April 7 end of the session.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY
* U.S. Rep Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) and the U.S. General Services Administration today host a forum on bringing more federal offices to Prince George's County. It takes place from 1 to 3 p.m., Bowie Comfort Inn Conference Center, 4500 Crain Highway Bowie.
* Donna Edwards, the Democratic nominee for Congress in the 4th District, holds a "Prince George's Victory Party" from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Stonefish Grill, 800 Capital Centre Blvd, Largo.

March 29 at the Peoples Community Baptist Church 7:30 to 10p.m. 31 Norwood Road, Silver Spring, Md.-----Mark Fennel and the other candidates in the April 15 special election for County Council 4th District will face off in a forum. Fennel has pledged to stick to and not exceed the charter property tax limit. County Executive Leggett has caused hundreds, if not thousands, to support Fennel by proposing the largest property tax increase in 20 years, ripping through the charter property tax limit. Vote for Mark Fennel for County Council and Property Tax Relief! Fennel supports our 2008 ballot question which makes it more difficult to exceed the charter property tax limit. Leggett said last week he opposes the ballot charter amendment, obviously because he expects to raise property taxes the two years after this year too. SAVE OUR HOMES!
