Coming up this week in Maryland politics:
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY
A Democratic primary will be held Tuesday in the race for the Prince George's County District 5 seat left vacant when David Harrington was appointed to the state senate. Seven Democrats are in the race: Theresa Mitchell Dudley, a middle school teacher; Andrea Harrison, Harrington's former aide; Adrion Howell, a consultant; Sherry James-Strother, a public health nurse; Melvin Bernard Johnson, a Realtor; Edmonston Mayor Adam Ortiz; and Derrick A. Parks, who owns Metropolitan Protective Services. The winner of the race will face Republican Steven W. Johnson in a general election May 6. Johnson is running unopposed for the Republican nomination. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Coming up in Montgomery County:
April 4: Community Television 21. 42 year old Mark Fennel and 76 year old Don Praisner will face off for 90 minutes in a TV taping that will be played over and over.
April 6: Fennel and Praisner will face off again before the Sandy Spring Citizens
Association.
Here are the differences between the two men.
l. Fennel is opposed to the biggest property tax increase in 20 years proposed by the County Executive. Praisner is in favor of this tax increase.
2. Fennel will not vote to exceed the charter property tax limit on property taxes. Praisner confirmed again on Saurday at the Peoples Community Church that he will vote to exceed the charter property tax limit.
3. Fennel is in favor of our November charter amendment to make it more difficult to exceed the charter limit on property taxes. Praisner is opposed.
