Senators Whomp Delegates -- in Basketball

In what is becoming an Annapolis tradition, state delegates took on senators for an annual basketball game. Last year, the delegates prevailed. But Tuesday night at the Anne Arundel Community College gymnasium, the senators proved more nimble, skunking the delegates, 56-41.

Wondering who was named M.V.P.? Curious which former NFL quarterback cheered from the sidelines? To read a story about the game and watch a video of Maryland lawmakers shooting hoops, click here.

These guys need to step up to the big time. When I played on the Maryland House of Delegates Basketball team we played the New York legislature in Madison Square Garden and in the Capital Centre. We also played in Cole Field House where Blair Lee III made the mistake of trying to hit my elbow with his mouth and he lost one of his front teeth. It improved his ability to whistle!
