From the Floor: Overwhelming Experience
I really would like to say that this has been an overwhelming experience. Last night's acceptance speech highlighted McCain's life of service and dedication to this country. All you have to do is really take a look at what he has done and there really will be no question as to who is ready to lead the nation.
People say that he is not the best public speaker, but I really think that he exceeded expectations. However, who do you want as a leader, a good speaker or a good doer? I can understand the historical significance of either ticket so I won't go into that. Last night was about a man who has spent the last 50 years of his life in service to his country, and he has the scars to prove it.
However, allow me to take a moment to touch on something that I really want to say. No matter who you choose, take a moment and educate yourself on their policies, their history, and what they have done for the country thus far. Please, do not let hype about a person steer your vote! It is ok to choose an album because of hype, but not the next president.
We are an empowered peope here in the United States, and with that comes responsibility. One of those responsibilities is to practice the due dilligence required in order to make an educated vote. An uneducated vote is worse than not voting at all. However, if you have followed due diligence, then you have honored the very freedom that I, and so many other Americans, have fought for.
It has been a honor and a privilege to have had this opportunity to give everyone my take on this historic Republican Convention. I would like to thank the people of the Post for allowing us to give you our prospective. Thank you and God Bless This Great Nation.
