Yes to Slots, Yes to Early Voting
The Washington Post has called the election for Maryland's two statewide ballot questions: Voters approved both constitutional amendments.
With 30 percent of the precincts statewide reporting, about 59 percent cast ballots to allow slot machine gambling at five locations in Maryland. In the metropolitan Washington area, the vote support ran at about 58 percent.
The margin is even higher for the measure allowing early voting in future elections. Some 71 percent of voters supported the measures. The figure was 78 percent in suburban Washington.
