David Ross Among Marylanders Aiding Transition

Another Marylander, this one with progeny who are up-and-comers in state government circles, is playing a role in the Obama transition.

David Ross has been appointed to the Health and Human Services transition team of President-elect Barack Obama.

Ross served as commissioner of the Office of Child Support Enforcement in the Clinton administration. Before that, he was a Circuit Court judge in Prince George's County for 15 years.

Ross now splits his time between Bowie and Florida. But his two children are firmly planted in Maryland government and politics.

His son, Justin Ross, is a Democratic delegate from Prince George's County who serves as chief deputy majority whip in the House. His daughter, Abigail R. Hopper, is deputy general counsel at the Maryland Public Service Commission.

I can't say enough good things about Judge David Ross. He was always very fair and very reasonable.

Hey John, the word is "progeny" not "progency." If you or someone else with the power to edit sees this, feel free to correct the error and delete this post.
