Weaver Leaves Franchot Office for Van Hollen Post
Maryland political veteran David Weaver, currently top aide to Comptroller Peter Franchot (D), has been hired as Rep. Chris Van Hollen's chief of staff in his Capitol Hill office.
Van Hollen (D) announced today that he's hiring Weaver to replace Karen Robb, whom he named policy director in his Assistant to the Speaker's office. Speaker Nancy Pelosi recently chose Van Hollen for the Assistant post to work with the Democratic leadership on policy and legislative strategy.
Before joining Franchot's office as chief of staff two years ago, Weaver was communications director for 12 years for then-Montgomery County Executive Doug Duncan (D). Weaver also served as Maryland Communications Director for Sen. Barack Obama's presidential primary campaign.

What a great deal for Chris and his constituents in Montgomery County. David is terrific.
