Grace O'Malley Standing In As Lieutenant Governor
Another member of Maryland's First Family will be appearing in public tonight with a government-sounding title attached to her name: Lt. Gov. Grace O'Malley.
Grace, the daughter of Gov. Martin O'Malley (D) and First Lady Catherine Curran O'Malley, is serving as lieutenant governor in the YMCA Youth in Government Program for high school students.The program's 2009 Model Legislature is scheduled to convene tonight at an Annapolis hotel and debate some bills.
Fresh off a legislative session himself, the real governor is expected is be on hand for the proceedings, which also include a banquet.
According to his office, Gov. O'Malley is planning to make remarks on "leadership and how young people can make a difference in this world."
