County Governments Rank High for Online Services

Several Maryland counties recently were ranked in the top 10 in a national survey that examines the digital services offered to citizens by local governments.

The survey, conducted by The National Association of Counties and e.Republic's Center for Digital Government, placed Montgomery County in a tie with Sacramento County, Calif., for second place among governments serving 500,000 people or more. Prince George's and Anne Arundel Counties tied with with Alameda County, Calif. for fifth place. Oakland County, Mich. took top honors.

This is the second year in a row that the three Maryland counties placed in the top 10 among participating localities.
