Pr. George's WSSC Nominee Confirmed
Prince George's County Executive Jack B. Johnson's nominee to replace a controversial member of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission was confirmed unanimously Wednesday by the County Council after Johnson expressed concerns this summer that the council might be delaying the confirmation.
Antonio L. Jones, a Largo-based management consultant, was tapped to succeed Juanita D. Miller on the commission. Miller, critics say, has been at the root of many squabbles on the beleaguered bi-county board.
Miller, meanwhile, has announced plans to run for a seat on the County Council.
The WSSC supplies water and sewer service to 1.8 million people in Montgomery County and Prince George's.
