O'Malley goes "overtime" with Maher and other panelists

Governor

For those who wanted more from Gov. Martin O'Malley's appearance Friday on "Real Time with Bill Maher," HBO has now posted an online-only "overtime" segment.

During the additional discussion, O'Malley (D) offers a spirited defense of President Obama and his programs, particularly the stimulus package passed by Congress.

"We were this close to the second Great Depression," O'Malley says, holding his fingers close. "Every state would have been under water."

O'Malley also makes a plea for patience to those in the left wing of his party who have grown disillusioned with Obama, saying "I think people should give our president a little more than 10 months."

And in a curious moment, the show closes with Maher suggesting O'Malley is starting to sound like conservative commentator Glenn Beck.
