Barve among leftovers for Obama state dinner
Some high-profile Marylanders, including Reps. Steny Hoyer and Elijah Cummings, made the guest list for Tuesday night's state dinner in honor of the Indian prime minister. But state House Majority Leader Kumar P. Barve (D) was among several prominent Indian Americans for whom the White House event was not too inviting, reports The Post's Style section.
Asked whether he had received an invitation, Barve responded: "You'd think! Given that I am the longest-serving Indian American elected official in U.S. history -- and an early supporter of Obama."
