Baker gets another public safety endorsement for Prince George's County Exec
Former Del. Rushern L. Baker III, a candidate for county executive, has secured a third public safety union's endorsement, his campaign announced Friday.
The endorsement from the Prince Georges County Correctional Officers Association comes on the heels of Baker winning the support of the county's Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 89 and Professional Fire Fighters and Paramedics Association.
He missed the support of the county's Deputy Sheriff's Association by a relatively narrow margin of 119-90, losing to County Sheriff Michael A. Jackson. The slim support among the law enforcement community was a blow to Jackson, an established public safety figure.
