Last-minute fundraising push continues online

State House.jpgBesides the more than 40 fundraisers that were scheduled in Annapolis and elsewhere during the final days before the legislative session, Maryland lawmakers are also making a last-minute dash for cash online.

State law prevents legislators and statewide elected officials from soliciting campaign contributions during the annual 90-day session -- which leaves little time before Wednesday. Here are just a few of the pre-session solicitations we found on Facebook in the past 24 hours:

Alfred Carr is making a final online fundraising push before the Campaign Fundraising Deadline. ... Can you help me with a small donation? Visit http://bit.ly/74GLId Thanks to the many of you who have responded.

Delegate Jill P Carter: Friends, Thanks for doing your part to help strengthen my Voice in Annapolis. It's important that we begin this election year strong. Less that 24 hrs remain until the critical fundraising deadline! Please Chip In what you can, here: http://blog.jillpcarter.com/ We're in this together. I can't succeed without you! Thanks, Jill

Tom Hucker is full of gratitude for the hundreds of supporters that turned out for his fundraiser at McGinty's on Sunday. Many, many thanks. And watch this page for some terrific photos. If you want to keep me fighting for working families, early education and the environment, please donate below. Today's the last day we can accept contributions before the Maryland General Assembly convenes on Wednesday!
