Prince George's declares state of emergency
Prince George's County Executive Jack B. Johnson (D) has declared a state of emergency, county officials just announced.
In a statement, officials asked residents to stay off the roadways to allow crews to do their work, and said all cars must be removed from snow emergency routes to avoid being ticketed or towed.
"Residents are also reminded to check their emergency preparedness kits and make sure they have everything needed if they are snowed in for a couple of days, including any necessary medications," the statement said.
In the event of an emergency, residents can call the Snow Emergency Information Center at 301.350.0500.
