What is the best meal you've ever had in Annapolis?
Probably several years ago, at Maria's. It was a spinach ravioli with a cream sauce, so I had a white wine with it.

Thumbnail image for 230px-Speed_Racer_promotional_image.jpegGrowing up, was there a TV show you would never miss?
"Speed Racer" came on at 3:30 in the afternoon. School let out a little after 3, and it was maybe a 10 or 15 minute walk home. Any cause for delay, and that was a real problem.

What's the last movie so good you saw it twice?
The movie I enjoyed watching most was "Black Hawk Down." ... The movie depicts the relationships and commitments of soldiers.

Thumbnail image for river birch.jpgThis is a famous Barbara Walters question: If you were a tree, what kind would you be?
I would probably be a river birch. ... A river birch has multiple trunks ... so you have multiple paths leading upward, skyward, not being one-dimensional. ... It's aspirational. ... It has an extensive root system. ... It's an attractive, solid, sturdy tree. ... It's constantly renewing its bark.

What's the last song you downloaded to your ipod?
For Valentine's, I did about 10 love songs, ranging from Lou Rawls to Sade. (At this point, Brown brought up Celine Dion, and his press secretary insisted the conversation be off the record.)

obama mug.jpegDenzel Washington.jpegName three celebrities for whom you've been mistaken.
The obvious is Barack Obama, and that's probably the only one. If I don't get that once a day, it's an unusual day. ... I'd by lying if I said Denzel [Washington]. Really, that's it."

Who would be the second best candidate for governor in 2014?
That's a hell of a question. ... Peter Franchot.

As a state delegate, what's the worst bill you ever voted for?
There are a lot of hold-your-nose votes. ... Probably utility deregulation, in retrospect. That was my first year. I'll chalk it up to being a freshman.

Would you encourage your children to go into politics?
Yes, definitely. I do believe it's a noble calling. I do believe it's an opportunity to make a difference. ... Will they follow? Who knows.
