Report: Ehrlich says robocalls not in his 'purview'

Former Maryland governor Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. (R) said an anonymous election-night robocall for which a campaign consultant of his has taken responsibility was "done outside of my purview," according to a report in The Capital of Annapolis.

O'Malley makes buyout offer to Md. state employees

With Maryland facing a looming budget shortfall of more than $1 billion, Gov. Martin O'Malley (D) offered a buyout plan Tuesday to state employees willing to resign by the end of next month.

O'Malley e-mails state employees link to Times story on states' budget crises

In an apparent bid to brace state employees for looming budget cuts, Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley on Monday e-mailed them some recommended reading: a link to a New York Times story about states facing crises because of their debt loads.
