Md. lawmakers set to debate in-state tuition bill

Hundreds of students gathered outside the State House in Annapolis this week to try to build support for one of the most high-profile immigration bills of the legislative session. Lawmakers on Wednesday morning are set to debate a measure that would give illegal immigrants a path to paying in-state tuition at Maryland's four-year colleges and universities.

O'Malley administration opposes medical marijuana bill

Maryland would join 15 states and the District of Columbia in allowing marijuana use for medical purposes The health department's analysis also found that it would cost several million dollars and at least several years to set up a state program, and suggested launching a study to come up with an alternative.

There was much confusion about what type of photo identification state policy requires to enter public buildings.

Environmental groups back O'Malley's offshore wind plan

The proposal, one of O'Malley's most ambitious, is being pitched by supporters as a way to create an environmental-friendly source of energy and to spur the creation of thousands of high-paying jobs.

Alcohol-tax advocates roll out supporters, including wine store owner

More than 70 lawmakers have signed on as co-sponsors to legislation that would raise an estimated $215 million to help pay for health programs. The measure faces opposition from the powerful alcohol industry and in the Senate.

O'Malley gives shout out to Prince George's job-seeker

O'Malley has emphasized the importance of job creation and he used Logan's story to illustrate the state's investment in helping residents find employment.
