None of these comments are worth answering, unless a practical solution is proposed. I place conservation the first choice and the next Empty Headed Hot Air.

I ask the questions are you fat, do you smoke, are you healthy, if so, it is a disqualification.

Shut up, otherwise, only verbal diarroah

"This is nothing but a straw for the left to grab at." I hadn't realized that being in favor of an environmentally sound policy, and pursuing alternate forms of energy was a sign of being a leftist.

Ann, why is there no money sticking out of our President's pocket in this illustration?

Why are we not running our automobiles on Natural Gas? We have an abundance of it.

How can Solar Energy work if Sunlight is obstructed by the emissions of massive Volcanic Eruptions beginning to take place World Wide? I guess offshore oil derricks will also not be safe from a Tsunami.

Has anyone considered that we have alternate means of producing energy that has been kept undisclosed in order to protect the wealth of those who possess and control the fossil fuel industries.

These offshore drilling projects will probably never take place due to the fact that the events relating to the 2012 pole shift and solar alignment directly relating to the end of many of Earth's geophysical cycles will prevent any major construction and development projects.

kemcb---True Christians are on the right side these events. That would include Catholics.

WAKE UP AMERICA and start looking beyond the mainstream media for the evidence of what really the future really has to offer.

Right On! As Usual.
It's Past time for Obama to stop pandering to the GOP. Surely he NOW understands that they will NEVER accept any action that he proposes- UNLESS it is watered down so much that it does very little for most of us.

Mr. President, in light of the recent offshore oil rig explosion and the on-going ecological disaster, you may want to rethink this expansion plan.

Very poignant, AT!

It only takes one tipped over oil rig to spoil the ecosystem for thousands and thousands of 'villages' - time for us to grow up about this retrograde technology, and start harvesting the sun energy that falls onto the earth everyday - even when it's raining.

"He (President Obama) is trying to get GOP support for the coming energy bill debates with this move but again he is whistling in the win(d). They are dead set to oppose any legislation proposed by him or the Democrats in the House and Senate." Agree, if so, the President is wasting his time, Republicans are the party of "NO" whose only policy is to oppose the President, they have no other ideas or alternatives. Republicans opposed Social Security, Marshall Plan, MEDICARE, Universal Health Care and now Financial Reform of the criminals on Wall Street! Republicans are like the Roman Catholic Church, usually on the wrong side of history! The Louisiana disaster is like "Three Mile Island" and should cause concern of what we are doing, best be very careful!

Great cartoon. Ms. Telnaes is very talented. The timing is lousy concerning offshore drilling and the recent disaster. Our safety history on these notoriously dangerous rigs is excellent. These things are going to happen. We can only make them as safe as possible. But accidents such as this should not prevent us from more drilling. This is nothing but a straw for the left to grab at.

The "Drill, Baby, Drill" crowd have suddenly gone quiet.

It would seem that this will be known as the bad luck presidency. Very bad timing.

Good point! I think you should have had the oil rig burst into flames and sink! He is trying to get GOP support for the coming energy bill debates with this move but again he is whistling in the win. They are dead set to oppose any legislation proposed by him or the Democrats in the House and Senate.
