The West gets really amazing over representation in Congress, especially the Senate so perhaps the court is a fair place.

I would have been happier if the nominee was neither catholic or Jewish, though I suppose that someone who represents non-believers (15% OF THE POPULATION) was out of the question. However, since the Catholics are in theory answerable to a single authority on Earth, they are a far greater threat of hidden agendas than the Jewish segment.
Is there a available scholar or Judge who went to a non-Ivy, but elite law school like Stanford? The Judge also has to be at least slightly left of center, since President Obama did win the election, so he should appoint SC Justices who tilt his way. Of course no actually liberal judge need apply, but some one at least left of center is requirement.

Pat Buchanan needs to be quiet. The only reason why MSNBC hired him to give the another side of the argument.

Posted by: beeker25 | May 18, 2010 1:05 PM | Report abuse

Ann---You also might consider how many powerful women are there in the US and around the World? Especially when you consider organizations like G-20 and Builderberg. The Queen of England is the only one that comes to mind who has any real power and influence World wide.

Ann, you nailed Pat Buchanan with the facts, too bad you never use this technique on your liberal buddies.

Posted by: taxcutsin12 | May 17, 2010 6:36 PM | Report abuse

Women are 50.85% of the USA population

Can't quite act as ignorant as PB

So Buchanan is disgusting. Granted.

But if you don't think the zionists in thie country, and the world, won't take advantage of this...

think again. Unless we're lucky, anything they want will be funneled to the court, and there succeed. You don't think they stick together, and that terrible pressure is put on one by all of them? The pressure and push is excruciating.

In certain certain circumstances, it could be a disaster. Or did like and thrive in 9/11 the Iran war. AFTER Their takeover of the Bush Administration...

ANND the MELTDOWN of the world economy, courtesty of WALL STREET. And for example, the actions here and in Greece of the fine old Jewish firm of Goldman Sachs.

The rest of the world knows, only Americans are captive.

No fan of Buchanan,

he has a point, a very important point!
Were it not for Israel, and the fact that most Jews won't critize or deny that
savage, parasite state anything it wants...

it wouldn't matter so much. But Israel is a prominent and growing problem for the US.
as well as the rest of the world, which
detests the state...

and three judges to defend it is not helpful.
Trouble is ahead, and this won't help.

Patrick Buchanan should really stay quiet, he is an embarrassment! I am surprised that MSNBC keeps him on for reasons that escape me! Whoever President Obama nominated, Pat Buchanan would find something to criticize. What is so hilarious are the Republicans who claim Kagan’s lack of “Bench” experience is a problem but the lack of same on the part of Harriet Miers was considered an asset, what hypocrites!

excuse me for pointing out the obvious, but Northeastern Jews have a distinctive culture and world outlook that is in stark contrast to how the country, as a whole, believes. Having a Supreme Court dominated by Northerners in the fist place, is wrong, having it composed of one third Jews is a disaster. It isn't "racism" to point that simple fact out. It is common sense. The urban-centric, elitist viewpoint represented leaves Westerner unrepresented. Think back about how angry Westerners are about the BCS excluding us from the championship bowl games, about how disgusted we are about the networks blathering on and on abut some East Coast slow car race while the story of some East Coast corporation draining a river and kills off a salmon run is ignored and you get the idea. Most of us don't want Kagan. We don't want another Northeastern Jew on the Court. We want a Westerner on the court (and that leaves out California, which is loathed out here as New York West.

No surprise here, Pat Buchanan is a well known bigot. His biases against jews and hispanica are well known.Last year he was incensed with the nomination of Sonia Sotomayor. He was awful in his rants about her and minimized this lady's accomplishments. He says he is a devoted catholic. How he reconciles the teachings of his church with his racism is beyond me!

Brilliant and "Right On" again.

Say . . . Isn't Pat a Roman Catholic?
That 66% of the Court is connected to Vatican religious viewpoints doesn't bother him?
Can't imagine why.

Here is the original post in Pat Buchanan's column:

This man should be booted from MSNBC.

Posted by: FoolForNews | May 17, 2010 1:28 PM | Report abuse

Just wonderful. Obama's lemmings are out calling Patrick Buchanan a bigot. The worst collection of liars, cheats, brain dead morons in American history criticize you and you are supposed to feel bad about it. Anyone commenting from the Northeast or California cane be safely ignored as being nut jobs.

The rest of us are completely indifferent to the racial, gender and religious makeup of the Supreme Court so that makes Pat Buchanan a bigot.

If we were also concerned about the makeup of the court though for some reason a graphic showing 51% of the population being Protestant and 0% of the Supreme Court being so would have been far more dramatic than one showing the lesser gender imbalance, particularly since the gender imbalance is in the process of being reduced.

"Ole Pat the Bigot at his finest. He probably supports the Arizona immigration law as well. Idiot!"

Oh, good. With Harry, Barry and Nancy running Washington, Ann was able to find a target for her anger. That awesomely powerful Pat Buchanan. Nuttin' like an aggressive Press.

Oh, good grief -- it is a political CARTOON, one of hundreds she does a year.

I cringe at this type of baiting: Stupid and divisive.
Buchanan commented that the rest of Justices are Catholic.
Where's Telnaes' comment on the new nominee representing gays?
What a can of worms.....

LOL. Way to "speak truth to power", Anne.

Like all mindless partisans, Telnaes is too ideologically rigid and too uncreative to devise any criticism of those who share their narrow minded views?

Pat Buchanan? You mean the geriatric part time pundit on a network that nobody watches? What a joke. Telnaes redefines the term "mindless partisan".

And of the majority Protestant population, there are almost infinite denominations which cover the ideological spectrum. We liberal Methodists for instance to the snake handlers of Tennessee. Then there is sexual preference, countries of origin, hair color, hair or no hair, eye color, right handed-left handed. In order to represent the American population we need about 300-million justices.

Pat has always shown his racist disregard and disdain for minorities and their roll in our society. Unfortunately people listen to him!

Posted by: MyVoice3 | May 17, 2010 8:29 AM | Report abuse

Good Old Herr Pat.

While he is correct in his calculations that although Jews represent 2% of the population, with Kagans appointment they will represent 33% of the Court.

What he does not follow up with is although Catholics represent 22% of the population, they will represent 66% of the Court.

Think we should kick some of them off to get a better balance.

Pat is a bigot, pure and simple..

ANN---You make a good point. Obviously Buchanan is just another Republican Bobble Head Right Wing-Nut whose threads are stripped.

Although I fear justice is not properly served in America today and the Supreme Court does not play much of a role in America today. Our Constitutional Laws and guaranteed rights are bypassed and ignored by those who have powerful influences. A law or a decision is useless if we do not enforce it. The govt. must first allow a case to be heard and ALL the FACTS to be considered and not censored for Liberties to be preserved. Overwhelming unjust govt. programs exist in this country that need to end. No one should ever be vilified or nullified for telling the Whole Truth.
