Every time you provide unqualified persons of nonsensical and uninformed viewpoints with a forum to utter their completely ridiculous blatherings, you give momentum to what they seek. Stop making Caribou Barbie the Quitter a news item as she has far outlasted her allotted 15 minutes of fame!

The pride and arrogance of this stupid, dishonest, trailer trash are astounding. Proven totally, unarguably 100 percent wrong, she turns logic on its head and blames those least culpable. And her drooling mommy-issue fans swallow it.

Instead, this lying backwater dimwit should try saying: "I'm sorry."

I guess Palin is the GOP's Paris Hilton? It helps to watch an idiot so you can feel good about yourself?

Could you really imagine Reagan picking her as a running mate, Let alone any credible republican before McCain?

Its pretty sad that this is really the best the Tea Party and GOP can do. The only decent republican left is a former body builder/actor who is almost done bankrupting a state.

Sarah Palin is all that is wrong with America. Divisive; ignorant; greedy;opportunist; incites violence and opens her mouth without thinking. What person does not know what he or she reads? For Sarah it's a gotcha question. What person does not know who the founding fathers of American are? For Sarah that's a gotcha question. In this day and age of fact checking, wouldn't you realize that there are video tapes of your encouraging off shore drilling? She is appealing to the ignorant who like her do not read and only watch Glenn Beck. According to Beck, he(Fox News) is the only one to show footage of the Israeli soldiers being hit with clubs as they lowered into the boat. How ignorant can you get? Every network had this footage. Palin is shameful. We need to let her just fade away. Lets stop giving her a stage.

Perhaps Ms. Palin should be down there on an oil rig if she knows so much about drilling. Then she wouldn't have time to worry about her next door neighbor and the 14 ft. fence. This woman is a waste of time. John McCain must rue the day he selected her and made her an instant millionaire. And to think he had to call on her to help him out in his bid to keep his seat in the Senate. What a joke! Both John and Sarah should shut up and get lost in the Alaskan wilderness.

Hi cjbass55 . . . . rexreddy's comment (above) is the runner up for most stupid comment re: Telnae's ACCURATE Palin cartoon!

If Governor Palin was in charge that hole would have been plugged thirty days ago and the people, plants, animals and fish would be safe.

That is, without a doubt, THE stupidest comment I have EVER read on a Washington Post site.

Obviously, as usual everyone will pay for BP's carelessness when the price of gas goes up to cover the expenses. We need to fix our economy to adjust to higher prices. Economics is a system of distribution of goods and services that is people designed and needs to be changed to meet people's needs.
We also need control of oil companies so they do not destroy the environment with reckless and profits before safety procedures. Doing technology right is essential to our survival.
The Palin's of the world are undermining the solutions to technical and priority problems that are destroying our environment and destroying people's lives.

People "on the LEFT"?? Wake up, Boy! It's people on the right, people on the left, and people in the middle! It's ALL people who have BRAINS!

The LUCIFERs and the SARAH PALINs don't go away when they're ignored! They aren't smart enough! Besides, she's too busy counting her "money" that some FOOLS have paid for ANY of it.

NOTICE?? Sarah doesn't "SPEND" any money! She uses all "FREE" websites: Facebook, Twitter, etc.

My vote means nothing in Washington. My vote means nothing in a sea of 300+ million "citizens." Sadly, what counts is how I spend each dollar. My next car will be 100% electric. Enough people voting in that way will kick big oil in the can.

So let's get this straight. Palin has always been AGAINST offshore drilling in the OCS? Really? Is that the story you right wing nimrods want to stick to?

You Palin supporters should all go away and don't come back until you can find video of an "extreme greenie" advocating for deep water oil drilling.

Posted by: leftcoaster | June 4, 2010 9:53 AM | Report abuse

The constant mean-spirited and vapid badmouthing of Sarah Palin by people on the left suggests she is very important. And you are making her a rallying person for people who detest left-liberal policies. You are making a big mistake. Ignore her, and she will in time go away.

Drilling for oil in the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) has been talked about for at least twenty years, that I know of. The answer is now and should always be "NO!!!!" ANWR is one of the last unspoiled wildlife refuges, and should forever stay that way, regardless of how much oil is supposedly under that ground.

I don't care in the slightest that Sarah Palin is 'for' drilling there. And I don't give a damn how much money the Palin family could make off oil drilling in ANWR, either. The answer is still "NO!!!!"

Sarah is an outgrowth of what is wrong with this country. Our education system has failed to teach our children to think and reason our way out of one crisis to another. She know little about history, religion, science and current events. It is sad to see a person whose sole source of opinion and knowledge is what she can write on her hand.

Posted by: MyVoice3 | June 4, 2010 7:39 AM | Report abuse

Just recently, Palin was all for off-shore drilling. Check out this video of her starting around the 01:50 mark: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036677/#36861570

Palin: "We can produce it safely and responsibly. We don't need more studies, we need more action."

Or, perhaps, more brains and less self-serving self-promoting hypocrisy than Sarah Palin has.

This has got to be the most useless and vapid piece of "commentary" on washingtonpost.com. Ann Telnaes really needs to find another career.

Facts are Facts. Alaska has oil reserves equal to those in Saudi Arabia. Although it is high sulfur oil and is not even shipped into the US. The type of refineries that can process that kind of crude have been dismantled here in America. In fact gas prices are higher here because of the shortage of refineries. T Boone Pickens says we should be powering our automobiles with natural gas. Homes are heated and cooled with it and wouldn' it be nice to fill up right at home.

I would prefer using our own oil rather than being manipulated into fighting wars in the Middle East that supplies oil to Europe where you are from Ann.

I hope everyone caught the interview on 60 MINUTES of a survivor of the Horizon catastrophe. Any good CIA man could read into the facts that lead up to it of which that survivor revealed and would suggest that was the result of sabotage upon the crew of that derrick.

ANN---By the way my friends have a new nickname for you. Your new handle is SUBLIMINAL ANNIE

I'd like an explanation of how Palin would have gotten this leak plugged were she in charge. And carbonhog (pertinent name, that), more of the gashog SUVs I see with a single passenger are sporting McCain/Palin or just Palin bumper stickers, not Obama ones.

Perhaps Ms Palin should be down in the Gulf helping those people instead of worrying about how much mud she can throw on Obama.
She's all mouth.. no action.

What a nimrod; this woman could not finish out her first gubernatorial term for chasing mammon (Jesus said you can't serve both God and money). Now she spouts this foolishness about safe drilling. Is Palin that blind or is she being conveniently ignorant? Clean alternative energy sources were needed like yesteryear and we need them now! President Obama, get this job done!

Posted by: meldupree | June 4, 2010 4:52 AM | Report abuse

The U.S. has 3% of the world's known oil reserves but uses 25% so no, we can NEVER drill our way to energy independence. Palin is a math- and science-illiterate flat-earther who thinks the Stone Age was a golden age for humanity.

Whatever comes out of Sarah's mouth just depends upon the way the wind blows! She hasn't YET demonstrated ANY "real" convictions or principles about anything!

The wheels are just always turning: "Which UN-Christian words will make me the most money today??"

Posted by: Maerzie | June 4, 2010 12:18 AM | Report abuse

Sarah, most sane people get it. The librods are such hypocrites trying to say we don't need oil, but the librods would be the first ones to whine and snivel when they couldn't fill up their gas guzzlers or turn the aircond down to 68.
