What about all the other news organizations who reported this story, and the administration who fired her?

What about the comments she made AFTER this incident, saying Breitbart would like to go back to the days of slavery?

Isn't THAT racist?

Yet the administration now wants to bribe her with an even better job.

@Fishman2 You're blasting people who defend Fox News, but the very video you're showing as your "proof" has them all reporting the story AFTER she resigned. Therefore, Fox did not contribute to her firing.

take it from a anti-American,leftist,lunatic

Not ME!

If you could read more than one sentence you would see how it relates!

And my main point is that I said it and I don't care what a weak, sorry, liberal, thinks about it.

And the cartoon is sorry too, unless you are a lying liberal!

I just read that North Korea warns of Nuclear response to to our naval exercises! If this is true, we will get to see how he responds to crisis. We should expect a delay at best, to allow Obama's team to talk to good ole Kim.

How will Obama respond?

We have seen how his appeasement strategy failed across the world, and the whole world laughs at the United States with Liberals in charge. Now it is time to see who blinks.

This is why he is a dangerous man as a leader.

He is basically a weak person, who now must act strong.

He will surprise me if he goes through with the naval exercises. I am sure that he thinks he can talk to North Korea.

Our president does not know history, he lives in a fantasy land with most of the liberals.

I know that you understand English!

I will tell you again!

I don't give a damn about a TIME LINE

We have a sorry president who just like most liberals is so anxious to identify someone as a racist, and it backfired on him again.

I have never seen such a sorry example of leadership. Never in our country's history has a president spent all of his time blaming the prior administration, when he is not playing golf! He sets a bad example for future generations.

If he could not fix problems he should have not run for the job. His Blaming Bush for everything is old and embarrassing! Any bum on the street can do it. I don't feel any pride, but I do feel ashamed of Obama. Once again he showed that he is weak.

"We know the real time line, and once again we know it was the president who acted "STUPIDLY" before fox aired the video!"

Jeffrey, were is your timeline?
Oh, that's right, you have no idea about a timeline.

Do you really think Fox News did not contact the USDA BEFORE airing the video on television or posting it on the Internet?

Posted by: fishman2 | July 23, 2010 10:14 PM | Report abuse

Blame Fox News! It's the cool thing to do!

The Washington Post itself reports that:
"But for all the chatter -- some of it from Sherrod herself -- that she was done in by Fox News, the network didn't touch the story until her forced resignation was made public Monday evening, with the exception of brief comments by O'Reilly. After a news meeting Monday afternoon, an e-mail directive was sent to the news staff in which Fox Senior Vice President Michael Clemente said: "Let's take our time and get the facts straight on this story. Can we get confirmation and comments from Sherrod before going on-air. Let's make sure we do this right."

Also if Obama would have fired Vilsack for acting like an idiot, and also the person who told Shirley to pull off the road so that they could get her to resign immediately, "your Obama did fire her" story would be more plausible.

Posted by: JeffreyM23 | July 23, 2010 6:14 PM | Report abuse

It is not important when fox released the video. If you say they did and have proof, that does not matter at all to me. If you say I was wrong about that, so be it, it make no difference to me.

What matters is that the most powerful man in the world who is capable of getting more information than anyone in America, could not take the time to get information before he acted.

I do not believe that he had no role to play in the firing. He jumped the gun earlier when he said the cops acted stupidly, without getting all of the information. He could not afford another beer summit. He has a history of this knee jerk reaction. He cannot be perceived as this or that. A person who is perceived as weak has to act strong, not because it's the right thing to do, but because they have something to prove. A president who acts like Obama is dangerous as a leader.

If only he would act so hastily when our generals ask him for more troops!

I don't expect you to agree with me, however this is my opinion and I will keep it and say what I think.

I am not Brietbart

I am a free Black man with a different opinion.

Posted by: JeffreyM23 | July 23, 2010 6:03 PM | Report abuse

Jeffrey, let's go back to your first point on this forum. Fox News aired a segment about the video BEFORE the resignation. There is video proof of it. You stated otherwise. So,you are wrong. Or I should say you are a Breitbart.

Posted by: fishman2 | July 23, 2010 5:27 PM | Report abuse

Only an idiot would believe that a scared liberal would fire a Black person in the Obama administration without asking Obama.

But then again you leftist believe Obama when he said the unemployment rate would not go below 8%, that he would close Gitmo, the everyone would get to keep their health care plan if they like it!

It's easy to tell when Obama is lying, his mouth is moving!

How does it feel to be a brainless, spineless, weak, liberal, whose refuses to use fact.

Fact is Obama is a failure!

Do you bow to other men too sissy?

After launching what has now been conclusively shown to be an unfair and false attack on Shirley Sherrod, Andrew Breitbart is scrambling to justify his decision to post the deceptive video. He now says that his blog post -- which smeared Sherrod as racist -- was "not about Shirley Sherrod. It's not about Shirley Sherrod. I can say it 20 times. It's about the NAACP." In fact, there is ample evidence that Breitbart directly went after Sherrod.

And if his claim that the NAACP tolerates racism is based on the debunked claim that Sherrod's speech shows she is racist, doesn't his whole excuse fall apart? Well, Breitbart claimed on Fox News last night that the video proves there are racists among the NAACP because "the audience was laughing and applauding as she described how she maltreated the white farmer," and he argued that the audience did not "know that there was going to be a point of redemption" in her story.

In his initial post, Breitbart described the audience reaction as "nodding approval and murmurs of recognition and agreement." And that was before we all had access to the full video and the proper context. Now, he says that the audience was "applauding" in approval of discrimination. In fact, Breitbart's claim that the audience was applauding as she "described how she maltreated the white farmer" is demonstrably false.

First of all, the full video shows that the audience did have reason to understand where Sherrod's speech was going and that her story was about the importance of moving beyond race. Before getting into the story about the "white farmer,

Her story begins around 16:30 in the video. Contrary to Breitbart's claim, the audience does not applaud at any point during the story about her interaction with the farmer.

Nevertheless, media outlets are already uncritically reporting Breitbart's attempt to cover his ass. The New York Times reports:

"They're trying to make this about me and Shirley Sherrod. This is about the N.A.A.C.P.," he said by phone. He said that the civil rights group had "spent an inordinate amount of airtime trying to brand the Tea Party as racist" while tolerating racism itself.

The Washington Times wrote:

Mr. Breitbart, whose Big Government blog posted the video, said Tuesday that the point was the NAACP audience's reaction to Mrs. Sherrod's account of her past actions.

"This was not about Shirley Sherrod. This was about the NAACP attacking the Tea Party and this is showing racism at an NAACP event. I did not ask for Shirley Sherrod to be fired," he told CNN, adding that Mrs. Sherrod "should have the right to defend herself. But what you see on the video are people ... applauding her overt racism that she is representing."

And the Los Angeles Times reported:

Breitbart told CNN's "John King, USA" that releasing the video was "not about Shirley Sherrod."

"This was about the NAACP attacking the tea party, and this is showing racism at an NAACP event," he said.

I am not supporting fox news.

I am blaming an president, who when a decision is needed to be made quickly to send in troops to support others who are fighting a war, and may die if support is not sent in a timely fashion, he ponders and takes months to make a so decision.

This same President in a situation where time is not a matter of life and death, he choose to act with all haste! Firing someone before he had all the facts.

It's not the fault of Fox news that our President is not a leader. He is a fake with no convictions. And they called Reagan an actor?

Regardless of what position you take on this issue the Democrats have proving Rush Limbaugh right about one thing he has said repeatedly. DEMOCRATS REACT ON THE SERIOUSNESS OF THE CHARGE NOT FACTS!!!! No review, no chance for her to give her side of the story, no well... we will check into this but it could mean you will be fired, etc.. No the white house and the racist NAACP, without even as much as a flinch, call for "off with her head"!!!

Of course NOW that the Democratic community is in an uproar the White House aided by the left wing media (in which WA PO is a major player) are backtracking just as hard as possible claiming its' all Fox news or Breitbarts' fault. Really?? Adults should take responsibility for their own actions not play the blame game. Yes the " dog ate my homework mom" should be beneath the dignity of people in power. Sad to say its' not.

I maintain that if this was a white person they Democrats would still be attack mode crying " off with her head"! Sad. Whenever anyone is accused they need to be given due process before reacting. UNLESS of course it's a member of congress on either side of the aisle who seem to escape all final judgment because of their position. Yes they do get called on the carpet but do ever noticed most of the time that is as far as it goes? Hmmm wonder why? Maybe the system is just a tad corrupt? Between that and the biased media ( either way) it's no wonder that most of the time no one stands a snowballs chance in hell against them. Shirley ya got lucky. Be thankful your black.

If you step back a moment and try to see the whole picture, there's something fishy about this whole thing. Why the head of the USDA, a relatively insignificant post, why Sherrod, an almost completely unknown manager? Why an issue that everyone knows is like throwing a rock at a hornet's nest?

This is a case of misdirection, like when a magician makes you look elsewhere while he pulls an egg out of someone's ear. So what's going on that the Administration doesn't want us to see?

Ann Telnaes is about as honest as any other lying far left liberal. Fox News did NOT front this story. Fox News was not even the first network to address the issue.

This whole mess is on the head of the NAACP for trying to slime and smear the Tea Party as racist. It blew right up in the NAACP's face, and I'm quite sure that many more examples of racism within that organization will surface over the coming weeks.

Sorry Ann but most Americans are now watching Fox News, the ONLY fair news organization left. The rest of the media has jumped into bed with the far left, so nothing they 'you' say can be taken at face value. The credibility just isn't there any more.

Let's drop all the racial distractions and get down to the real issues. Citizens have been losing their rights and our government has become overwhelmingly corrupt for over 20 years. Many people didn't care or take notice until a black man entered the White House. I say to those people. SHAME ON YOU. I have also not yet seen this President reverse any of that. The Theatrics that are involved in all of this by the media make me sick. The media has become nothing more than a device to stir up the chaotic kettle of disagreement and distract people from the real issues. This type of atmosphere only produces more anger and frustration for citizens who really have a rough way to go and have fallen victim to government programs and corruption. You would think the old KGB is behind all of this. This is exactly how Nations and Empires have failed in the past according to World History.
