Usually, God is a little more subtle than a thunderbolt but makes his point just the same.
People are allowed to do their dirty deeds and pay for them latter.
When people abuse their freedom there is always a price to pay.
"Shock and Awe" as a preemptive attack based on lies, then torturing people to extort false statements was a crime against humanity and we are paying the price. Many good Christian people sold their souls for a false sense of security.
We killed innocent people instead of those responsible for 9-11.
Instead of repenting our transgressions, we are stealing from the poor and giving to the rich which is undermining our economy and creating a new third world nation. People need good paying jobs to survive.
A thunderbolt might be more merciful.
We need to repent; restructure our economy so that we have the necessary finances to rebuild both our character and what we have destroyed. Otherwise, we will never again be a great nation in the sight of God.

rjpal: We Independents, the Dems & the Republicans, and the Tea-Parties, and the Religious Right understand that "Palin is not Gingrich". She's a Looney-Tunes FEMALE, and he's an outstanding example of what a HUSBAND [read "male"] shouldn't be.

Also, please try to understand (I know that is painful for you) that Ms. Telnaes Masterful Editorial Animations are SATIRE!

Here let me help you out with your Venn diagram.

Draw a big circle.Label that Tea Party.

Draw another circle that overlaps the Tea Party circle. Label that Religious Right.

Now take out your crayons. Color the Tea Party in Blue. Color the Religious Right circle in Yellow.

See the pretty green area? Those are Religious Right members of the Tea Party. See how only part of the Blue circle is green? This tells you not all Tea Party members are Religious Right. Some are (the green), and some are not (the blue).

Tape that above your bed and stare at it every night until you learn the basics of logic.

On an unrelated note: I would like to salute the Nobel committee for awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to Chinese Dissident Liu Xiaobo. America could use a leader of this caliber today. We are without people within our own government with his type of courageous qualities. This is why America finds itself in such trouble today.

The tea party will disappear as the economy improves. It is 100% a product of tough economic times. This is evidenced by the fact that while its members have a laundry list of things they are against, they have no concrete plans on how to fix things, and neither do their candidates. They're also naive to think that electing a few more Republicans is actually going to fundamentally change the way government behaves. That will never change as long as there are lobbyists and as long as politicians worry about re-election more than governing.

This animated cartoon was provided for you by the lightning bolt throwing God, Odin from Scandinavia. This comment is provided by a good guy who is trying to boost Ann's ratings.

The Tea Party is a definite improvement over the religious right. After all, the religious right want to turn the clock back to 1st century AD (or if possible, the Stone Age) while the Tea Party only want to turn the clock back to the 18th century.

The WashPo's descent into pure democrat propaganda is complete

No matter....the House and Senate will be GOP soon

I'd rather have a right wing religious person than a lily while liberal socialist pervert democrat loser in Congress any day.

So would independents: " from CBS News, whose new poll finds independent voters breaking to the GOP by a jaw-dropping 44-24 margin".....lol, buh bye losers

Liberalism is a failed, paternalistically racists ideology.....

Recovery November will end the democrat nonsense

Sure it's always easy to satirize Christians because you know all they will do is pray for you. I bet Molly wishes she would have just done the same.

the tea party is going to rename itself the progressive party...

Does your cartoon amount to insight or to prejudice? Seems to be the latter. And of course prejudice sells. Lots of your readers hate Republicans, hate the Tea party and hate religion. Why not identify everyone you hate and put them all in the same basket?

But it is obvious to this outsider from both parties that the Tea party is very different from the religious right and from mainstreatm Republicans. They may be good and they may be bad, but they are undeniably different.

Palin is not Gingrich. Why won't Democrats understand this simple fact?
