Top searches for graduation information

By Valerie Strauss

What do people around the country want to know about graduation?

A lot.

Yahoo! searches for everything graduation related are off the charts in recent weeks, according to Vera Chan, Yahoo! web trend analyst. “Graduation party invitation” searches on Yahoo! are up 2798% this month; “graduation cake” searches, 4186%.

Folks are searching on Yahoo for tips such as “how to wear a graduation hood,” “how to attach a collar to a graduation gown,” and where to find the proper “graduation flip flop sandals” as well as “eco-friendly graduation gowns.”

There are, too, a lot of searches for non-collegiate graduations: “preschool graduation poems,” “kindergarten graduation songs,” and “junior graduation dresses.”
