Gopnik's Daily Pic: Chris Verene's "Family"
By Blake Gopnik
The latest feed from my morning musings about art and objects at www.blakegopnik.com.
Daily Pic: A photo from "Family," a portfolio by Chris Verene, on show at Postmasters gallery in New York. For 26 years, Verene has been documenting family and friends in rural Illinois. The pictures would feel voyeuristic, if Verene hadn't managed to fill them full of sympathy for the oddballs they portray.
