5-Day Planning

This isn't exactly what the schedule-makers anticipated when they slated the Yankees to play at Fenway Park to close the regular season. Heck, it's not what I had planned either. As a lifelong member of Red Sox Nation (don't hold it against me, I will try to limit all references from here on out), it will be a surprisingly care-free three days with nothing to be gained or lost. Yes, Boston remains mathematically alive to win the AL East, but at some point you have to be realistic.

Instead, I'll be all about the Twins and White Sox. After Minnesota completed its three-game sweep last night, the Twins hold a half-game lead in the AL Central. Each team has three games left, and if Minnesota retains that half-game lead the White Sox will have to play a makeup game against the Tigers on Monday. If Chicago wins that game, it will then play the Twins on Tuesday to determine the division winner.

From a work standpoint this could be a little bit of a nightmare, as there are playoff capsules to edit and travel plans to be made. But as a fan I would love nothing more than to see this race drag out another five days. Besides, it's not like I have anything else to worry about this weekend.

cos, check out the Nationals Farm Authority site for info on draft pick scenarios.

Tom, at least you are a lifelong member, not a newcomer - so I for one won't hold it against you (although Yankees fans may feel differently)...

Tom- here to keep you company as a RSN loyalist. Not a red band wearing member of the fan club, though.

Other than Pesky's number being retirement and Moose's shot at 20, agree there is not anything to see in the home country.
