About last night...
Doesn't anybody want to win this division?
For the second straight day, both the White Sox and the Twins took losses, meaning that Minnesota got to keep its 1⁄2 game lead in the AL Central entering the final day of the season. And while neither team helped themselves, the White Sox were more deserving of a gold star for choking last night.
In case you missed it, in the second inning of Chicago's game with the Indians, the scoreboard flashed the final of the Twins' 4-2 (box) loss to the suddenly unbeatable Kansas City Royals. But instead of seizing the opportunity, the White Sox fell 12-6 (box), their fifth-straight loss.
All told, in back-to-back chances to pull ahead in the race, with the final playoff spot in the AL up for grabs, White Sox pitchers have allowed a combined 23 runs in two of the most important games of the year. Yikes.
But hey, at least Southsiders have this going for them.
