Game 5 Lineups: Changes For the Rays

Rays Manager Joe Maddon has seen enough of his Nos. 3 and 4 hitters going a combined 0 for 29 with 15 strikeouts. So tonight, for Game 5, those hitters -- Carlos Pena and Evan Longoria -- will be the Nos. 4 and 5 hitters. Maddon moved Carl Crawford up from his normal No. 5 spot to hit second tonight, pushing B.J. Upton down to third, Pena to fourth and Longoria to fifth.

Maddon acknowledged that, if this were the regular season, he'd probably be looking to give Pena and/or Longoria a night off, in hopes of shaking them out of their slumps. But in the World Series, he doesn't have that luxury.

"We're going to have to try to do this in other ways," Maddon said.

Here are tonight's lineups:

Akinori Iwamura (L) - 4
Carl Crawford (L) - 7
B.J. Upton (R) - 8
Carlos Pena (L) - 3
Evan Longoria (R) - 5
Dioner Navarro (S) - 2
Rocco Baldelli (R) - 9
Jason Bartlett (R) - 6
Scott Kazmir (L) - 1

Jimmy Rollins (S) - 6
Jayson Werth (R) - 9
Chase Utley (L) - 4
Ryan Howard (L) - 3
Pat Burrell (R) - 7
Shane Victorino (S) - 8
Pedro Feliz (R) - 5
Carlos Ruiz (R) - 2
Cole Hamels (L) - 1

Next: Rain Delay in Clinching Game? Must be Philly

2-0 Phils after 1. Maybe the weather's playing a role. It's pretty cold in Philly tonight, and the Rays look FREEZING. You spend all season in a Florida dome, it must have a bigger impact on you when you suddenly find yourself trying to play in bitter Northeastern cold. Didn't they used to say the same thing about the Bucs?
